That is why even the strongest humans suffer against even relatively weak chess engines and why cheating in chess should be taken very seriously! Even one or two moves of help from an engine are worth 300 or 400 ELO points extra! There should be zero tolerance for any cheating and people who are caught cheating should simply not play in any money competition ever!
Because now he could fundamentally prove he has the best insight. Classical chess is "beaten" by bots. Many forced lines have been discovered giving so much advantage to players who are better at memorizing than deduction. (not that only one of both is sufficient to Excell at chess)
But when we talk about "gut" what we really mean is that we recognise some moves we can make in a certain position that will almost never leave us worse. Or are simply better. Or will create a very complex position that neither we nor our opponent fully understand. But it's worth doing because it makes our opponent think. It's a pattern recognition thing. I'd liken it to playing a musical instrument. You start off learning something which seems as difficult as hell. But you practice until there comes a time where you can sit watching your fingers on the fretboard and hear the music played absolutely perfectly and wonder who the hell is actually playing. Because it involves no conscious effort. It's a magical process. And he's absolutely at the top of his game. I feel sorry for Ding. I don't know what he's going through mentally, but being a world champion who is nowhere near being the best player in the world atm must feel like a very hollow title.
Haha sometimes on gut. But other times like at 5:45 you can see him calculate 12-13 moves deep before analyzing a later position. Equally as impressive as when he goes off his gut 🤯
Magnus Carlsen is not a genius, as many foolishly think. He is not Newton or Einstein. The intelligence of a chess player is only mechanical, automatic, an "intelligence" that is really just a kind of memory. The proof of this lies in the fact that the strongest chess player of an era always has a higher Elo rating than the champion of the previous era, just as happens with chess engines. They simply increase your knowledge of the moves to memorize.
yeah im honestly very impressed with this addition to analysis discussions, adds a layer of proffesionalism to it.. and yeah he looks very proffesional aswell
They should make a board where the moves/notations can be mirrored and stay on both sides, for situations like this where two people are discussing about the game.
With all respect, Magnus' peak Elo is 2882. Magnus' is general Elo 2860. Fischer's peak Elo would be 2920, Bobby Fischer's general Elo would be 2900. Fischer would mop the floor with Magnus if Fischer was born 1990.
@@scottwarren4998 That's a big problem isn't it. IF Fischer was born in the computer engine age he would maybe be better than Magnus, but then there's the fact, Magnus would obliterate Fischer if he time traveled back to prime Fischer 1970'ish and played him. Magnus is the best player in history and the goat, Bobby is basically a fart in the wind compared to Carlsen.

Goat analysis from the man himself. When Magnus retires(hopefully not for another 20 years!) hed be an amazing chess coach, similar to how Kasparov gave him some advice when he was younger.
Perspective on the future for him is magnificent 😅 But also you can’t teach the skill set he has developed over years into his brain, some of the versatility he has is just a gift. For instance Jon Jones being a mastermind in UFC. Gifts from god when you’re overall talented in every aspect of your career! 🎉
its clear now, if u wanna interview magnus after a important game put the chess board in front of him, he just lit up when he started analyzing the moves like a lecturer. he usually looks like he hates the interview after a important game, the board changed him completely when the game came on
It's fascinating that he picked the best moves in the game which he felt was subjective but when he proposed better moves the engine showed they were terrible. Her performed far better in the game than in his analysis which is incredible.
Nice meet you carlsen, im one of million yr followers from Indonesia that i think you still the Best and genius idea Man same michael stall, horas and always be 1❤❤❤
Sometimes it feels like Chess960 is going to become mainstream. Because chess is close to being solved and memorization and theory is just too rife. It wont become irrelevant, just not be mainstream anymore. All players really enjoyed their games
@@LK25278 you do understand that there are thousands of openings memorized by top players, chess can be easily prepared, it's why Bobby Fischer came up with Fischer Random. It's just saturated with memorization and preparation, and this leaves very little room for actual pure chess to be played.
@@NobodySpecial420 Of course, but firstly it's silly to say chess can be "easily" prepared because it definitely cannot. Secondly, if players survive the opening we have novelty positions around move 10-20 and a whole new never to be seen chess game to be played. I understand your point and i agree somewhat, but i'm just saying that chess is far from "solved", in the true sense of the word.
Great to live in an era where you can watch the GOAT play LIVE !!! Wish that was possible when Bobby Fischer was active. Would be great to have seen a few games of Fischer playing Freestyle chess. Also really interesting to see how the commentators and the engines ... thought the rook endgame still had chances for black and the commentators kept going wrong ... then the GOAT comes in and gives the plan he had in mind that is so purely simple! Just use the pawn to lock the rook and then if the king becomes active just lure him away from the passed pawn and if rook and king try to crowd the king ... simply forget about the passed pawn and pick up the pawns on the other side.

You can't accept the reality and the reality is that Magnus Carlsen is the best chess player of all time with a lot of rapid ,blitz , world cahmpionships this is a very hard truth for you darling
I would pay money to hear magnus talk through games more. Communication of his sense of intuition is more interesting than some technical engine analysis. How does it ‘feel’ to play at this level?
i wonder how good a chess grand master would be in a strategic war game with outside and real time battles-art of war-strategys. of course after he gained some knowledge about the different unit types. but then...
Just saw the short when Magnus completely ignored Ju Wenjun who he sat next to. So despicable. And then Magnus's fans asked her to move so they could take a picture with Magnus. And then someone rushing to take her seat.
I believe just like most brain virtuoso it all happen in the subconscious and the conscious Magnus that talks to us is really just a middle man that does not really know what the subconscious is doing only that it tells him what looks good.
Wow! Just mentioning all the computer moves and then adds all other options which would be safe moves in a complicated position. This man’s brain will be studied after he dies 🤣🤣
