@@cycjason9887if he talks with arrogance, then prove him wrong and bring him down. This is a competition. Not playing house. But that is near impossible.😂
Not even remotely. It’s more reminiscent of Marco Pierre White’s revelation: “Once you accept you are being judged by people who have less knowledge than yourself, then what’s it worth?”
I love moments when Magnus tries to compare himself to someone, he wants to find the right words to explain it without offending someone, or deminishing anyones skill, but because english is not his first language he just give up and say "im just better".
@@boogieman6529 People said the exact same thing about his classical game when he was 2720 around 2018 and now he's the second highest player. He might be aging but I noticed that ever since his return to classical his speed chess became a bit worse. Probably his focus is just elsewhere now, I don't think it has a lot to do with his age But who knows
Magnus' hidden strength is his psychological stability He is pretty much a rock In a must win situation like an Armageddon or tie break he is impossible to beat
Maybe I'm wrong and I don't want to rush to judgment on Magnus, but he always seemed a bit autistic to me. Especially in the past. This may be the reason for its advantage.
That is the mark of the champions, psychological stability in critical situations. I think this kid, the Indian challenger of 17 years, has that, he is so cold. Alireza is the opposite, he gets too nervous, but he is improving and we didn´t see his peak yet.
@@---VectorDo you even know what autism is? Because nothing he does suggests that he is autistic. Aside from his obsession with chess but that could be said for all chess professionals. And even that is not a sure sign of autism.
@@FlashyNightmares That’s evidence that he’s better, but it’s not an explanation of why he’s better. Sorry if I’m being too pedantic, but I was curious to learn why Magnus thinks he’s better than Hikaru. Does he work harder, prepare differently, calculate faster, remember more patterns, what?
@@bluemystic7501 I actually do. you're thinking ab it too narrowly; it's not that rigidly defined. it has more to do with attitude and personality than whether or not their inflated ego or sense of self is justified. just because someone establishes themselves as the best in their field doesn't make them incapable of being arrogant about it (look at kanye, muhammad ali, floyd mayweather, lebron james, etc etc). the _most_ arrogant people are the ones who exaggerate claims ab themselves, but the exaggeration isn't always in the form of what they say, but how they choose to express it. levy's question had nothing to do with hikaru being better than magnus, it was just ab how prolific he is online. magnus could've said smg like "yea hikaru rly gives it his all and it's always great to play against him" and let his chess speak for itself (shoutout hans, someone ironically far more arrogant than magnus) but his competitive need to be recognized as superior and the best (arrogance), in part bc he is, made him respond the way he did "yea hes really good but im still better" it's arrogant bc it wasn't necessary
Without going into the reasons, I respect Magnus as a person more than I do Hikaru. Magnus does not even talk that much trash, but when he does talk some trash, he can back it up.
“I disagree because I am the King of online chess. And, all chess. Everywhere. Hikaru is really good. Just, not great. Like me.” It’s not bragging when it’s irrefutably true.
@@Alone-h6o Levy doesn't really glaze Hikaru any more than he glazes Magnus or any other good player. Hikaru is a beast and there's no doubt. He's also a jerk.
Magnus actually has Garry as the GOAT. Just last year he said he needs more longevity to catch Garry. I understand it. A few more years and he definitely has the GOAT title. There is a lot of recency bias that has Magnus as the GOAT now. If Kasparov was dominating now and Magnus had dominated way back when Garry did then these seem people would be calling Kasparov the GOAT right now. You see what I mean with the recency bias? Whoever is dominating to the extreme at the moment will have more recognition at the current time. That said, Magnus is really really close so I get people saying he's the GOAT, and he very well could surpass Garry. I believe he wants to.
@@billj4525 Magnus says he thinks Kasparov is the GOAT, but the polygraph interview he did indicates otherwise. I understand why he’d say that, though, since Garry is still alive and it’s important to show respect to the greats who came before you. But not only does Magnus think he is the GOAT, I actually suspect Garry agrees. It’s a respectable debate either way.
What I like about Magnus is his modesty. He could have hammer in Hikaru’s body into the ground and pee on his bones, but instead he merely mentioned about 7 times in a matter of minute that he’s a better player.
2nd greatest blitz player of the generation will be remembered as grischuk because he has 3 world blitz championship and no other player other than carlsen and grischuk have more than 1.
It's too bad many only know about hikaru and magnus being speed beasts while hikaru has never won a single blitz championship. Grischuk is where it's at
@@strek45 yeah unfortunately grischuk is Russian and his peak was before the chess boom so not many people know his insane talent with seconds on clock.
@@strek45 Grischuk has both a losing record against Nakamura and did not maintain his streak in blitz as he continued. His final Blitz championship later on (by later I mean compared to his other two) is more certainly commendable. However, you still put too much faith in a singular swiss tournament. Nakamura has consistently won knockout tournaments and round robins in multiple formats including the entire GCT series in 2018. Grischuk lags behind
Hikaru isn't the king. He got smashed in bullet by Alireza. Smashed in speed chess by Alireza...all Hikaru has are his boring bongcloud speed runs for the thousandth time. Against 1000 elo players
I mean just because Hikaru played a lot more doesnt mean he necessarily is better. Lets not forget that often enough online he is playing weaker players and especially weaker players than Magnus. Surely he plays many good players as well, but comparable to Magnus they have to be at least top 10 and i think thats probably
I dont understand why people love one and hate the other one. I love them both, with their mistakes, they are both great players. Obviously magnus is the best chess player, all combined but i see Naka as an equal currently or in the last couple of years or around. Respect their level. Also alireza and some others of course. The fact that Hans played this was for the show, not matter the result. Now magnus will play Alireza, the best players currently. Cant wait
@@swedishpsychopath8795 Huh? Literally every knowledgeable fan knows (including Naka) that Hikaru is below Magnus. What we do NOT know is WHY, so obviously that would be of more interest.
Does Levy like having attention? I rather stick with those who are good and don't need attention. Although Levy is a good chess player and Hikaru is even better, no matter what Carlsen says.
Hikaru explained it before. From his own mouth, he said that Magnus does everything a little bit better than he does. Attacks better, defends better, calculates better. So you add up these little bit better and it becomes a large gap.
I play chess since 5 years and I have to say chess is completely overrated game my friends and it s absolutely no "sports"..not even close. Like Fisher said. When you know how chess is working you ll hate it. There is no better player than the other on that level it s just about luck/unluck how is your position. You cannot calculate anything cause it s useless when opponent plays only 1 other move what you don t expect. It s ridicilous it s all about money and fame here. I would beat magnus and levy 1 in 10 games cause i had better luck. Fuck this game you mean you re intelligent when you play chess haha it s not even close
What the hell are you even talking about????? You'll never ever ever beat magnus in a game of chess as long as the time control is not something ridiculous like 15 sec.
@@golendorfjules1838 what? So why a normal guy in a bar beat magnus? he was amateur player and drunk beer there is a video on youtube, also some other amateurs beat kasparov. So what the hell are you talking about? Even Caruana says chess is meaningless
Bruh how old are you?.... if that was the case why magnus has never lost a world championship he literally quit.. ofcourse there luck like in everything but unless you are magnus playing 95% acc his whole career nobody is close its definitely a skill not everyone can. What you said was so ignorant man! Smh
@@damegesavage3449 he never always plays 95% accuracy man!! I saw him loosing to a guy in a pub! Get that. They play their whole life of course they are GM I play chess since 5 years, played over 10k games and thats enough to make a statement like mine ok? Even other big players confirmed it what i just said so how old are you? 12 maybe or not older than 18. I m 33 so what you want. Check facts
@@pascalb.7126 There is also a video of Carlsen taking down a cheater using a chess engine. These games are in statistics called outliers. Just as beating a low depth engine does not make Carlsen non-human, a drunk game means very little.
