I've recently fallen into the rabbithole that is climbing content on youtube, I'm 28 and I've never climbed or did bouldering in my entire life - but I love all the stuff you guys create, it's incredible how good the content for it is, all the top guys and personalities seem so connected and down to earth. Thanks for being a part of this community, I've watched multiple of these interview segments, they're great!

@@alexxu333 I think I will, I thought I'm too old now, but I think a lot of it is technique over typical strength

@@Corrupted 28 definitely isn't too old to start. You could still climb to a high level even starting now.

This is great. Magnus speaks well for the sport and represents. I think he is an icon of climbing and I’m proud that he is making something great for the climbing community.

I defined “struggle” in my 1985 THE OUTDOOR ATHLETE book as, “…effort burdened by emotion.” Then go on to teach how to turn struggle into pure effort. So I do disagree with Magnus that “struggle is good,” and suggest that it is the transformation of struggle into clean, unburdened effort that is good. 🙏🏾

I'm really starting to feel the Magnus fatigue. I can't look or listen to any climbing content without being sold some of his shit.

I mean, you don’t have to buy it. Would you rather be served a mattress ad? I use his chalk and it’s good stuff. Just trying to pay the bills here, cover the cost of editing and all that.

Also remember, you wouldn’t have half of the climbing content that exists on RU-vid if it weren’t for Magnus’ success. Every time you see one of his ads and get upset, remember that you wouldn’t be watching half the video you get to without him!

@@thestruggleclimbingshow I mean isn't the Nugget sponsored by like Peanuts? I can assure you I'm not buying it, the $2 Metolius brick works fine for me. I'm sure his chalk is fine too, MgCO3 is MgCO3. But that's not really the point, I don't have anything against ads or sponsorships. If you could find a mattress sponsor, go for it. The point is that every single climbing RU-vidr / Podcast / etc with 100 or more subscribers is carpet bombing me with ads from Magnus, plus I'm also getting actual RU-vid ads for it. Plus I'm also getting emails, *that I didn't sign up for*, about how watching a video of Adam Ondra is going to make me climb 5.15. If you were the only one being sponsored or if there was some sort of selectivity going on here, it would be one thing. But there isn't, and the only thing seems to be "shove it down as many people's throats as possible, as often as possible." I know you're smart, this is one of my favorite podcasts, and I know you can see the difference here. I also know I'm one single person and one single view which ultimately doesn't matter, but all it's succeeded in doing is stopping me from watching / listening to most content.

I dont mind the ads, it makes more content possible, I hope everyone involved in climbing succeeds!! Thanks for the interview, Magnus is the man!!

@@MrChristof1234567890 Much of the good content on RU-vid is unrelated to him. If there's anyone to thank its Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim.
