I put the Magnuson on my 2023 about 4 months ago when it had 400 miles on it. I've put about 5k miles on it and have had zero issues. I basically spent the 8k I saved getting the ORP instead of the Pro to pay for the supercharger which in my book has way more value. I love mine!
@@FuryfistX I think it’s more how you drive it once it’s on.. you’re going to want to hear the whine! Once I put 33’s on, definitely noticed a hit to about 15-16 or so.
Just wanted to add that this uses the OEM injectors. Aside from the supercharger, inter-cooler, belt pulley system, spark plugs and tune, everything else remains the same. Also, the OEM pulley's and belt remain in place. A new crank pulley with a second placement for a second belt in installed along with the blower's belt pully's and tensioner. I installed mine in about three days.
Man, every time I see one of these videos or talk to somebody that has one of these superchargers they are never over excited about it. I spent about eight grand on performance mods to my Ram 2500.. it's been about seven years. I can still stomp on the throttle, giggle like a little girl, and I still can't believe how much of an increase it was for such little money. Don't get me wrong I can totally see me impulse buying this for my 4Runner at any moment, but the logical me says don't do it😅😅😅 Nice set-up by the way and thanks for making the video!
Been wanting some force fed air into the engine for my 4Runner too. But I can’t do the $9k upgrade yet. I did an AFE intake and flowmaster flowfx exhaust. It pulls so hard after 4k rpm now and that intake sound is so violent that I don’t think I need the supercharger yet. I might do a yotawerx tune though. Just had the transmission fluid exchanged and it’s even happier.
@@Papolucho702 Header mods (long tubes) and a tune are where the gains are. Pair those with a supercharger and you'd have a pretty quick 4runner. That is before you start messing with smaller pulleys for more boost 😁
Great vehicle! Debating on getting a 4 Runner for my 4th gen Cummins (modified). How’s the fuel economy? Do they remap the trans and are there air intake requirements or filters? Thank you.
Shouldn’t be an issue, the spacing from the throttle body over to the airbox is exactly OEM. So you can put any aftermarket intake/snorkel you want. I plan on going the same route as you later this year with an S&B intake and Snorkel.
@@sommguy1792 I’d work with your dealer on that whichever one you typically go to if they’re a Magnus and certified installer they’ll probably say they will honor the warranty as long as you use them as your service provider and installer
Couldn’t tell you for sure as I’m not in CA, but being fully CARB compliant I think you’d be okay. Probably reach out to Magnuson, they get back pretty quick via email.
Ok thanks. I’ll reach out to them. We have strict emissions requirements here so I’ll be curious to see what Magnuson says. I think they are also based in SoCal lol. Sick ride though. Cheers.
@@fazer2747 It will pass smog in CA. That's what the CARB compliance sticker is all about. I've been waiting for that for about a year and a half. I live in CA and plan to have the supercharger installed next February
@@GaryB94558 I was actually surprised what those parts (intake manifold and cover) are going for. Basically a $300 bill if you go through the motions to sell them. Probably just use it as a paperweight though! Thank you sir, and to you and yours as well!
Not at all, this was something I wanted since I bought my first 4Runner in 2021. Magnuson didn’t release compatibility for 21+ MY’s until earlier this year. Which was one of the core reasons I sold my GX and went for the TRD PRO.
$9980 is what the Supercharger was out the door, and the truck was Sticker $57,500. I never paid any markups, so roughly $67,480 OTD. Not bad considering that's still $6K less than a GX460 Luxury.
@@jonathanhuynh880 Bro, that's right. I bought my 2018 TRD Off Road, last year with 52000 miles for $38K. It came with 2inch leveling kit. Off set 18inch wheels and 33inch AT tires. It preforms off road in snow & ice in the steep slopes same as any new TRD Pro 4RUNNERS. Don't buy a new one. Big waste of money. Mine drives like new. You can't tell the difference. So I saved about $20.000 by buying a used one.
@@richardmachado7527 Toyota is Toyota lol I have 130k miles on my 2020 I supercharged it at 800 miles no issues at all so far it's been driven across the whole US almost
