We've hit a milestone with our 50th Magpul Extended Minute. Thank you for watching and learning along with us. In this special episode, The one and only Don “Mojo” Majillo shows us all how to (very) quickly reload when you've run dry.
@@ScoopCooop well and also its from magpul playbook from 10 years ago. Dude is great at weapons manipulation but he is to IG for me. Guess I am turing into a Fudd
@@ScoopCooop Literally everything about gunfighting comes from everyone else. No one is unique in this profession because the concepts of gunfighting come down to fundamentals. I'd rather some dude copy right info, than someone spouting different BS just to look unique. The point of an instructor is just to pass on relevant info in a bite sized package so people who otherwise don't have the time to learn on their own can quickly soak up the info and bring it back to their units or friends/family.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj so unique NO. But the guys who learned this the hard way are the ones that should be the teachers because they understand the weight of it. I dont need some guy from IG going though weapons manipulation when I can Google that myself.
I want to know what plate carrier that is. ALSO, it would be cool to see a Magpul Minute where an expert user sees how fast they can reload with normal bolt release vs using a BAD lever.
It's basically the same speed. The only purpose of the BAD lever IMO is for expediting one handed reloads. If you are going to buy any accessory I recommend the readi catch which allows you to lock the bolt back when you depress the mag release. This makes malfunction clearances wicked fast.
Or it might be a crye avs with a 3-band skeletal cummerbund. The avs and cpc look pretty similar so I’m not sure which but it’s definitely one of the two.
Dope, but they don't fit every lower... You can be just as fast without one, but definitely can't lock the bolt back the same way as easily with one...
Ha, Mojo has such a good vibe. Seems like a legitimately good dude. Anyway this product looks cool. Magpul ought to make a trigger. Doesn't have to be some super high end trigger, just something that's an upgrade over milspec. Like a pnt trigger or something.
@@alexpurvis4123 I suppose we all started somewhere and there’s a lot of new gun people coming to the fold. So I guess it’s possible I remember when I didn’t know what the big A on the side of a lower was. Because all I had ever seen was a Colt my dad bought for me for a early graduation present. All I knew back then is the big A is what I wanted on my next AR because I liked the way they looked.
This should be titled. "bolt lock reloads, if you're right handed, running an AR and the bolt locks back on empty." Outside of all those criteria it doesn't work.
The older I get the more I role my eyes with the whole tacticool culture I know he’s military or what ever but the gun culture is turning in like frat boy culture
That's because you are turning into a fudd. And I get it, the cool factor of guns wear off after you have been shooting for some time, but the reason plate carriers and all the cool guy gear is prevalent isn't really because of looks but pragmatics. Why carry an armor carrier and webbing like of old when you can use a plate carrier and carry it all in one package and closer to the body for less body strain? Plus more people getting out there and actually using gear is less geardo than guys who buy stuff and leave it in their closet thinking they are "ready". And sure the argument can be made that most of us if we need to use a gun will only need our conceal carry setup so we should be doing most of our training in that, and that's absolutely true. But at the same time the overt equipment can't be ignored because then when something like BLM comes to your town and the rule of law is gone, you don't want to be the only guy on your block who doesn't have his head on straight because you just took it out of the box that day. The days of believing civilians will never have to use any molle gear or night vision, etc in real life is over. When the cops are held back by politicians, we are all on our own against the huns.
The Clint Smith's and Mossad Ayoobs of the world are in silent agreement with you. The Dave Smiths are still worrying about matching colored kit and the next super sweet operator sleeve tat they're financing.
@@mikebillman8089 Yeah, you don't know anything about either of them then, because those guys are well known as being the most non-status quo guys out there who slayed more than their fair share of sacred cows in their tenure. Both of them were heavily responsible for getting the AR adopted by LE (there was a point where the shotgun was considered "too much force" and an AR was unthinkable as a "weapon of war") and they also were the ones who were of the first to drive home the importance of learning how to reload fast and carry extra ammunition (before the doctrine was that if you couldn't stop a man with one shot, you were inaccurate, and that lead to a lot of dead cops). The irony is the same way you scoff at these magpul dudes, old fudds used to scoff at Clint and Mossad's teachings as well back in the day. Some guys only care about looking cool (or in this case not looking too cool), and other guys only care about pragmatics.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Go get another operator tattoo so everyone will know how tough you are🤣 I was sending lead downrange most likely while you were still shitting your diapers.
Practicing reloads and malfunction clearance drills is vital as is practicing them with either hand, but this speed reload versus the shot timer shit is gun game fuckery and doesn't belong in real world gunfight training.
I would only consider the shot timer as a means of creating a high stress environment, and only after doing the repetitions with reloads and remedial action to be smooth and efficient.
Timers are important. Timers are an objective way to measure your progress. People hate timers because most people suck and timers remind them that they suck. That's also why guys scoff at airsoft, because guys who have been shooting for double digits don't like the idea they were "killed" by some preteen bouncing off the walls. But that's why training is important, we need to know we suck so we know what we need to improve, and not just hope for success. As far as the idea speed reloads are useless because one should switch to secondary, or the fact that most gun fights outside of military roles don't use up a full magazine, the arguments against that is Paul Gardner, a speed reload and then picking up his mag would have saved his mobility, most in the military don't carry a handgun, and on the civilian side, no one thinks they will use a full mag until they do. There are documented cases of people using over a full rifle mag in a self defense case (due to massive gang/riot related home invasions).
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Airsoft is good training with many benefits. We started out with paintball for early force on force but airsoft and simunitions have taken over.
