I actually was debating making a blue Popo joke in this video, but I didn't wanna focus on it too much.

I honestly have no idea why Nozuchi looks the way it does. The earliest designs are more like a proper dragon, the Soul Hackers design is just like a furry, still dragon-like being, but from Nocturne onward...yeah, I've no idea what's up with the elephant coconut. Part of me thinks Kaneko just wanted to make it weird, but if I were a betting man I'm curious if it's one of the many many demons inspired by something from Shigeru Mizuki

@@strain42 I kinda remembered that I was once stumbled upon a depiction of Nozuchi in old Japanese art collection that most modern people would call "Youkai Encyclopedia" or such (Sorry , I don't remember the art collection text name) . The art itself depict a grassy mountain area with something that look kinda like Nozuchi from SMT Nocturne hidden amongst the tall grass I also kinda remembered that I stumbled upon that art image when reading article about Tsuchinoko (a type of Japanese snake cryptid) and it's kind of implied that the story of Nozuchi is the one that evolve into the story of Tsuchinoko But to be honest , my memory is kinda hazy and some of what I say may be inaccurate , so please correct me if I'm wrong

Even when Toriyama came up with arguably questionable designs, which he did sometimes, it never came across as malicious, and some of his recent designs before his passing absolutely showed a phenomenal sense of growth and interest in incorporate unique design elements from different cultures. He is indeed still the goat and his work will continue to inspire future generations.
