We just got the Mahindra Roxor in Canada and I really hope they come here with their full line up. Everyone in Canada is tired of the big three and the crap they trucks
Evil emperor ford, General Motors, and Chrysler. A new base model two door Jeep here starts at 35,000. 1/2 ton pick up trucks are around 50,000 and all of them will have issues after four years and you will still have four years of payments.
Of course India makes good off road vehicles, they have so little bitumen, everywhere is Off Road. Now in 2020 Mahindra full coil suspension rates better than Wrangler and Jeep offroad. Better than Ford as well. Well done Mahindra
one thing I am not sure if it is mentioned .. that makes the Mahindra more stable is the load it is carrying in the back ,, when it climbs a hill the camera angle shows what I mean .. another point would be the Mahindra is modified .. but despite all this added advantage .. Mahindras really are good utes. Amazing for the price difference really.
Mahindra had full technical collaboration with Willys and with reasonable priced spare parts and service, no brand can compete them. That is why they are largest manufacture of tractors in world and in India jeep means Mahindra.
There are many variables. It wasn't dangerous but here are key differences. The Ranger had a slightly bigger load on it. Different drivers mean different approach angles and also different approach speeds. The Mahindra has 15" tires and the ford 16" but their circumference is nearly the same. So the the Mahindra's tires gives it more traction with the extra flex.
I think the suspension and tires made a lot of difference. Ford will run rings around Mahindra on the highway. off road though it's worth knowing that Mahindra is not based on a truck, it's a Jeep CJ derived vehicle with a load bed. It will do fine on most terrain.
For running on a highway?That is not what 4x4s were meant for ! Atleast the mahindra is a road legal vehicle and can be easily managed to be driven at 62 mph! But off the highway, mahindra is way better!
If you come to India visit Northeastern states of Himalayan range ( highest rainfall region). Most of People here prepare Mahindra Scorpio, Bolero and Thar becoz all roads are off-road, we don't have proper roads here. Scorpio is powerful, less maintenance and long lasting. If it can survive here it's nothing for other country roads.
People here are praising Mahindra and Indian technology for Scorpio's off road ability. Well let me tell you that this is now all, we have even more capable SUVs and trucks like the Thar, Gurkha, Xenon, Safari, etc, which are even more superior than the scorpio off the road!
In India we have a saying that 'Tata' and 'Mahindra' car owners test their car's built quality by themselves on the road. That's why cars these brands produce are way more durable than any other car in competition. If you don't believe me search videos of these cars crash videos with other cars. You'll get it.
