Simple and straightforward! Ang daming vlogs about canada na super misleading and ang daming unnecessary comments. This is so helpful, and glad to see an unbiased pinoy POV living there. More power to your channel!

You've just started here in Canada so obviously marami pang new life experiences na darating sa inyo. "Mahirap" is a relative word - it all depends sa person's ability whether financially and physically, your life style back home (PH), etc.... It's not good to compare PH and Canada, it's not an apple-to-apple comparison, but ofcourse you cannot avoid it. No place is perfect and there's always a trade-off. In Singapore, I was paying just around 5% income tax and earning much more than my starting salary here in Canada (back in 2010). So it was a bit of a struggle in the beginning. So kung iisipin lang and job position at sweldo at tax rate it was a significant downgrade, pero there was a bigger objective for the family. Overtime things got better. If you have the right education and previous work experience maganda ang laban mo sa Canada. Good luck!

Mas masarap dito sa US (Florida) hindi malamig. Ok na Ok ang mga benefits. May Medicare at military Tricare. Tatlo ang pensyon (military, Federal and SSS). Kya mas maganda dito sa US.

Make sure to save at least 25% of you income each paycheck, pero kung kaya ng mas malaki, mas ok. Life in Canada, US and some other countries is far better and more convenient compared sa Pinas.

We came to Toronto in 2001 as PR. I got my first job after 1.5 months upon arrival, kaya yong dala namin na pera (show money) halos intact pa … so, financially we were good. But what i appreciated the most was the fact that i had more time with my kids (i don’t have to leave the house early, and nakakauwi ako ng maaga dahil walang traffic). Another thing that i loved was, free education. These were just one of the many things that i loved here. No regrets. Tyaga tyaga lang kayo. Upgrade your educ, look for a food job (gov jobs are great), sipag, ipon, and life in Canada will pay off.

Hello michael. Sa tingin ko mali ang focus nyong magasawa sa ngayon kasi dapat magconcentrate kayo more on how to become pr dito sa ontario than sa work o kita nyo dito. Kasi yung pagiging pr dito ang magdedetermine your future here. As of now, applications for pr sa ontario eh over the max na kaya napakahirap ng maging pr dito sa ontario. Imagine, maski mga bumbay na international students na katakot takot dito eh nagmomove sa ibang provinces dahil mas may chance silang maging pr dun like newfoundland, new brunswick, nova scotia, pei etc. Siguro yan ang dapat nyong pagisipan kasi hindi kayo pwedeng magstay dito forever with no status. Sayang naman yung hirap nyo kung madeport kayo in the future. Maybe for now, it's better for you to move in other province and then come back here once you get your pr status. Pero looking back, we don't have any regret in moving here in canada. Here we found the true meaning of what life is which i'm sure we didn't have a chance in our miserable and corrupt country. May our Good Lord guide you in all your plans and decisions.

You mentioned that February was the most expensive month for you and your family. We focused on our family’s needs and not on our wants.

Watching here in Ontario, mahirap po talaga Buhay sa Canada pag Hindi ka pa financially stable at settled at kung mababa ang sahod dahil sa inflation pataas ng pataas ang mga bilihin at rent ,pag family dapat talaga dalawa ang nagtratrabaho kasi maraming expenses at Bayarin, now kung settled at establish ka na dito na may good career at high paying job,you will be okey .There’s always pros and cons .Canada is a better place to lived once you pass all the struggles in the beginning and once you already established a good life here. Hi Kabayan! We came here in Canada as IS din in 2019, got our PR at 2021 and bought a house in 2023. Limited ang dala namin pera, got our job after a week, wag lang picky marami trabaho sa Canada. Minimum wage po na naabutan namin noon is $14.50 Marami nagsasabi akala nila mayaman na tayo sa Canada, but that's not the exact words. Nagsipag tayo, nag plano at nag sumikap. And with benefits na meron sa Canada, need po naten magpasalamat dahil wala po ganitong benefit sa pilipinas. Lahat po mahal dito pero dapat po marunong tayo magbudget, keep it up! laban lang!❤ Good luck po on your Journey and to your youtube channel!

Buying the very expensive SUV that you really LIKE (as you said), as opposed to what you only need, was a huge error in judgement. You could have bought a older car for less money (that you don’t have) say a 2017 RAV 4 and that would have saved you a lot. The 40k you spent in buying car will be gone in a few years.

Canada or USA ang bottom line is kung mayron kang career field from a college degree and gaining experience halimbawa computer professionals, doctors, nurses, engineers ay masarap ang buhay mo kung di kalang waldas gumastos. Other than that from financial perspective mas ayos pa sa Pilipinas kahit every month pwede ka mag pa letson.

You are doing good. High pay, higher income taxes to pay per bracket. If you own a house (mortgage), you need to pay the principal & interest. Every 5 years the interest changes and so the inflation. 30 years you have to pay. If you lost your job big problem as well. Not including the property taxes. Utilities (Heating & Cooling, Electricity). Internet/cellphone. Maintenance. If you had Car Loan, plus insurance & maintenance hindi talaga kakayanin ng isang minimum wage lang. Maybe if both of you works as a Nurses, they earn NET $10,000 per month.

Of course you have to be selective sa jobs. Mag apply ka sa jobs based on your skillset, experience and education. Your goal is to land an interview. Rarely, employers will call you if your education and experience are not aligned sa job description. I work in HR. We use a software to screen resumes. Theres an algorithm that will pick keywords on your resume that will push it to the next step which is to pass it on to hiring manager who will decide if he or she calls you for interview, otherwise rejected ang resumes. Im also an immigrant here in US mahirap talaga mag start. I suggest upgrade your skills, get education shift career if you have to sa mga in demand jobs. Good luck

My opinion and based on my 75 days vacation sa anak ko sa Toronto ay masasabi kong OO ,mahirap! Magiging pay check to pay check talaga ang mangyayari. Ang anak ko kasi gusto nya sa Canada for global education and kung tutuusin mura na ang Canada compared sa aral sa UK, US at Australia. Pero sa amin a 50 yrs old parang di ko na gustong mag Canada. Masaya na kami dito sa Thailand . May husband is having the same rate or more than pa nga ng kinikita ng iba dyan sa Canada at managerial position pa.

Mahirap lang sa umpisa but what you guys are doing will greatly benefit your kids. When I first came to the US didnt had a job for 6 mos then I got hired as a caregiver. It wasnt what I expected or did before in the Philippines but I needed local experience. After I established my local experience it was easier (still difficult but easier). Give yourself time and if you guys have a plan stick to it but of course be flexible when needed. You guys got this!

Canada has more to offer than Philippines. Health care is not perfect but compare to Philippines? I got Cancer few years ago ….. didn’t work for one year with pay. Hospital social workers also offers other services tulad ng free ride (transportation after radiation treatment), meals on wheels, counseling- Canada has summer,autumn/fall,spring, winter season- each season is BEAUTIFUL!!! Our kids will appreciate it more than adults. My kids loved skiing in winter, dip in very warm jet spa,ice skating, ice fishing. Winter is nice for a change, not bad just need strategy and proper outfit. My kids started working at 15years old…..after 2 years they are working, studying, driving and saving/travel. Life is good!!!! Now the goal is buying a property of their own. The children/your children will benefit enormously from your hard work, sacrifice and teamwork. Best wishes to you and your family!

thats completely one sided and definitely not true about canada has more to offer, thats actually the opposite. Philippine has more to offer, how so? Philippine has so many alternative compare to Canada. Ph have public market where you can buy cheaper food bc its tax free, where you can buy cheaper items like clothes/kitchenware and they are all cheap tax free, in Canada kahit brandless ang mahal wala kang ibang choice, kundi buy expensive brandless clothes or thirft store, yan ba ang madaming maooffer? Ph have cheaper car insurance, 1k pesos meron kana insurance, if you have money then you can buy comprehensive. Ang canada ba meron nyan? wala, people are obliged to buy comprehensive, so kahit hirap ka at kapos sa pera, kelangan mo kayanin para mabigyan mo ng magandang transportation ang family lalo pag winter. Ph have tax leeways. Business can get away from doing tax, how so? ang dali nyan at business have been doing that for decades, dont report all your income, its wrong, but points here, its a thing in PH but cannot do in Canada. Pinaka importante, Philippines have private hospitals, sa Canada, nothing nganga ka, kahit my pera ka sa Canada and you can pay better health service, no, magwait ka or punta ka sa US tawid bansa to get better alternative. If you dont want that then wait ka Pila ka dyan. Yan ba madaming maoofer? Sa pinas need mo lang my pera, and you can access better healthcare service, if nagtitiipid ka, may free or cheaper alternatives, sa government, so Ph has more to offer than Canada. Madami pang. Ph have a lot to offer to make your life easier and happier. Ang problema lang sa ph is oppportunities to make money,, kaya kung di kaya ang competetition sa ph, better go canada and do 3jobs. I have businesses somehow I managed to be creative here sa PH so financially okay na,. Dyan kahit maging businessman ako, kakainin ako ng tax. And what make us think our kids will like Canada? we dont know, yet, baka nga maging grateful pa sila kung sa pinas naten sila dinala kasi kung hirap tayong parent I am pretty sure kung hindi mang ganung kahirap sa time nila, may hirap padin pagdadaanan sila. yung kids na working na and know how to drive and independed at earlier age sa Canada, pede din gawin ng magulang yan sa pinas, nangyayari lang kasi saten magulang inaasa naten sa iba ang dapat sa ating magulang manggaling ang gawin silang independent. Teach them how to drive at 18, teach them how to work freelance at ealier age, etc @@rowenamagno5398

I’ve lived in Toronto for 30 years. Sigurado you cannot replicate your life in Manila working minimum wage jobs even with both working. Ang masasabi ko if you are earning 100K monthly sa Pinas don’t come as an international student because of the cost and likelihood you will obtain PR. No matter what consultants tell you per Statscan 30% of students have PR within 10 years of receiving their first study permit. It means high cost with relatively low likelihood of success. Don’t think that if you get PR that automatically opens the doors to high paying jobs. Each year Canadian Universities graduate thousands of students that you will be competing with. Anyone wanting to immigrate to Canada should try the Express Entry pathway. If you don’t qualify for that it means that Canada believes the likelihood you will successfully adapt and make a positive contribution is low. I came as an independent immigrant back then the only other pathway was to invest several hundred thousand dollars in a business. The only financial requirement was to have 6 months of living expenses. Good luck on your journey

Work na work tayo. Para makaraos sa buhay at maka bili ng bahay in the future. I think you don't need to explain to that person how much you earn and how much you spend. This is my opinion.

This is just my observation specially IS or someone who has established career in Philippines then came to Canada. They want instant gratification. The expectation to get the same position/career in Canada. Sorry to say but it’s not going to happen. Not yet. Those hiring managers/HR don’t really care your experience in Philippines. We are not born in Canada, English is not our first language, we are coloured skin, we got accent ,etc. white people get chosen to those high paying positions. The competition is tough. Think about those university graduates who are born here. Those are the ones you are competing with in the bank/ corporate world. Also have you heard nepotism ? that comes into play too. The point is we got to earn our place in Canada like go back to school and upgrade. That’s how we get the Canadian experience. And you got to give it sometime. change your mindset of you got all these experiences like as a manager or director… that will get you disappointed very quickly. you have long ways to go and there will be a lot more sacrifices. just my 2 cents.
