Thanks for sharing Mahlie. As a long term carer I agree with you. Care and compassion absolutely must be at the forefront of treatment for someone with BPD. I recently spoke at a workshop called 'Re-igniting the spirit of caring' and it really made me realise how things have negatively changed for consumers and carers over the years. It was heartbreaking to hear a very long term nurse express that when she started her career the 'system' provided 80% care and 20% bureaucracy. She continued to say that the 'system' now provides 80% bureaucracy and 20% care. Isn't that sad?
