Mahmood sings a portion of Com'è Profondo il Mare (roughly "How Deep is the Sea"), a song by the beloved Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla, a sort of historical journey that is an indictment of the powerful, who are disinterested in the collective drama of the weak and defenseless and create an injustice that ends up destroying even the sea, that is, freedom of thought. He masterfully transforms the song, which is a hypnotic lullaby that makes us reflect on our humanity, also into a hymn to his mother's land, the Italian island Sardinia, thanks to the tenors of Bitti, a traditional Sardinian choir declared intangible heritage of humanity

The intro sung by the Tenores was in Sardinian. Mahmood is half Sardinian and he proudly showed it on Sanremo.

When Mahmood sings a cover, he transforms the song in something different. I love him when he does that. Totally. The original song is a masterpiece you cannot relate to as you don't know the importance of it. But listening to it in such a different way delighted us italians. Very meaningful song from one of the biggest Italian songwriter and singer, Lucio Dalla. The title could roughly been translated “How deep the sea is” that is where all the atmosphere of the song comes from

Wend you find a video with an autogenerate caption and translaction is 'cause they spoke, you'll never fund wend they sing cause the IA don0t understand a song. But anyway, if you are really interessed, is pretty easy to find a godd translactions for every song that you ear on internet. you search the title - liryc translate english. Then you can read before, or after or even meanwhile you see the video.
