Mahoraga would be the best ability if he can adapt to everything. Like imagine bro just adapts the law and is the best frikin lawyer or just flat out adapts to tax evasion making you filthy rich

I think the reason there has never been two simultaneous users of both Limitless and Six Eyes is because the Techniques are simply that rare. In an moment of ungodly luck, there could well be two people born with theoretically any hereditary technique. 10 shadows, limitless, 6 eyes, blood manipulation, projection sorcery...
no its cus 6 eyes and limitless is tied to tengen. now there will be no more 6 eyes and limitless users because the last one (gojo) failed to protect the star vessel because of toji, who was unbound by fate fucked everything up
You do realize they literally found a replacement for amanai, they said that at the end of hidden inventory... and when the hell do they ever say those are linked. @@JacobYuan_
What's interesting is special cases like Noritoshi, & Death Painting brothers coexisting's proof already, not to mention regular ones that is Naoya & Naobito. Though it being "inherited" also comes at play, 10S's such an arsenal to the Zenins that Naobito chose it's user over his own son. That signified it's rarity if you ask me.
It really makes me wonder, since that inherited techniques aren't limited to one user unlike that of the six eyes. Why doesn't the 3 main jujutsu clans, like the Zenin clan for example, start breeding like rabbits until they have an army of ten shadow users? I mean they're already a bunch of misogynistic assholes, so I doubt it's because it would be to much for their women's to bare. Wonder if there's an in universe explaination for this.
@@noimsquidward7327 maybe because they care about quality of off-spring more, being the father of a badly raised failure can be the sole reason you lose your good position in the clan, or maybe they're scared that too many main-branch zen'ins running around would increase the risk of blood or genes being stolen by other clans (either by force or seduction), since it would be hard to control so many ppl at once, they were very upset that Toji left even if they hated the guy for not having CE, since he still had main-branch Zen'in blood The second-branch had quite a lot of ppl in, so Ill say maybe a mix of both
Regarding the whole “losing your shikigami after taming it”, does combining the defeated one with a pre-existing one (like we saw with the white dog) effectively whittle down the 10 shadows to a smaller number, or does it become an empty slot for another shikigami to fill in? In that same line of thinking, could a defeated tamed Mahoraga be combined with whatever the weakest shikigami is (ex. Frog, Rabbit, etc) to effectively buff it beyond its normal capabilities? And theoretically, could you eventually get to a point where all but 1 Shikigami gets defeated and combine into a super shikigami? Also do we know if the Snake is combined with something else, or is it still around?
1. The 10 Shadows doesnt have 10 slots, it has 10 shikigami to choose from when performing taming rituals, so any shikigami that gets destroyed will mean the user permanently has less shikigami 2. Yes, its just a question of how practical itd be 3. Yes, the closest to this we've seen is Agito, which had multiple shikigami, but some of them were still alive 4. Great serpent was combined with Nue to make a giant Nue the size of buildings, Great Serpent and Nue are both used to make Agito
i still find the fact that Mahoraga adapted gills in the anime real funny cause that implies he needs to breath or that he has lungs normally otherwise just growing fins would make more sense if it was for better movement in water
Love your video man! So clear and concise, but most importantly you presented new info without actually spoiling from the manga! I really appreciate that
I think he doesn’t keep the adaptation once the user dies. It probably resets with each user otherwise he’d be adapted to infinity already. However the example that mahoraga sets for someone can probably be copied by any sorcerer like sukuna who understands cursed energy application at the highest level.
How do you think mahoraga would fare against the inverted spear of heaven? Would the inverted spear of heaven would just ignore his adaptation or would Mahoraga adapt to it?
Unlike other ways to bypass cursed techniques I don't think things like The Inverted Spear of Heaven, Miguel's Black Rope, or Angel's Jacob's Ladder technique can be overpowered so I don't think Mahoraga can adapt to it. Atleast not while under its effects.
@@Abyzz_Knight Shouldn't it function more like a domain tug-of-war with the stronger/more powerful side winning? The Inverted Spear of Heaven and all Cursed Tools like it are just objects imbued with cursed techniques afterall, so it's essentially just technique vs technique. Like it or not but Mahoraga would adapt unless he gets oneshotted which isn't very likely.
@@EUM_NEMESIS we don't see that in the examples I mentioned. For example Jogo and hanami try to use domain amplification to bypass limitless but Gojo prevents this by outputting more cursed energy into his limitless technique. Gojo never does this against the inverted spear of heaven or the black rope. Now with the spear one could argue that he was younger and thus didn’t have the knowledge or experience but I find that arguement harder to make for the black rope. This still isn't a modern day Gojo but he's still a lot more experienced and it's hard for me to believe he wouldn't know that you can fight against counters to cursed techniques. Now with Jacob's ladder, the fact that Sukuna resorted to deception to survive the technique tells me that he didn’t have a way to counter it or that they wouldn't have been effective. *Edit: tl;dr If these can be countered then it's mostly likely that they're so powerful that counters are ineffective and thus why we don't see any attempts to do so.*
Mahoraga is the byproduct of the 10 Shadows Technique and the Inverted Spear of Heaven forceful stops any CT from working so Mahoraga would just disappear as the CT he comes from would be stopped. Mahoraga would not anytime to adapt because it would one shot him, that being the requirement to beat Mahoraga
@@EUM_NEMESIS no, because in the manga... Gojo was stated to have destroyed the inverted spear of heaven and the black rope. Despite him being so confidently the strongest and definitely much more powerful than the ISoH and BR, he still felt that they were a threat, which means he couldn't simply counter them. This probably means either they can't be countered or it requires a sorcerer more powerful than Gojo, which mahoraga is not. Either way, Mahoraga can't adapt to them before the anti-technique effect already does its job. Then what happens when he gets hit by it? Well, either Mahoraga's technique would be deactivated, ie no more adaptations and potentially losing previously acquired ones, or Mahoraga itself, as a part of the 10S technique, would be deactivated, dispelling the shikigami.
With merging of shadows when one dies like the wolfs did... In the hypothetical situation someone manages to tame Mahoraga and then someone else does a Toji on the escape rabbits can you merge dead escape rabbits with Mahoraga and get like a Thousand Mahoragas?
2:28 So basically it’s like Pokémon, where you can encounter the same species (Pikachu), but they would be different variations (male/female, level 1-100, shiny/normal, etc). You can fight it and it may know certain moves, but what it knows in that encounter doesn’t matter. The one that does matter and the moves (adaptations) you do retain is the one you caught.
Sukuna heals Megumi because... Hmm. I would say to stabilize him past the ritual, bc Megumi literally performed the ritual as a "im already dying but imma take you with me" but Sukuna wouldnt have necessarily known that... Though he may have figured it out while putting everything else together, and wanted some insurance his effort was not made in vain with megumi succumbing to his wounds after the ritual ended.
Note mahoraga isn’t immune when he adapts it depends on the type of adaptation we know he can adapt multiple different ways to different phenomena so his adaption don’t make him immune technically
I don't think mahoraga can keep adaptations after being unsummoned. If you read the gojo/sukuna fight i think you can see what im talking about, sukuna pretty much had to use 10 shadows technique even though it was handicapping him even in situations where mahoraga was not adapting which means it most likely means all those adaptations are lost if he deactivated 10S technique and reactivated it again
@@bu11ymaguire mahoraga literally got unsummoned after sukuna used it to break out of gojo's unlimited void cause he knew gojo would just straight up try to oneshot it plus it wouldn't be that helpful when it has only adapted to the domain at that point and not infinity.
We don't truly know the ins and outs of Totality. We don't know if all shikigami can be a base or only a certain few. Mahoraga just seems so vague when it comes to what power he gives to other shikigami, if he even can. Does he gives his adaptation ability or is it more physical (like all the Totalities we have seen) and he gives like his sword or something. It's really unclear and Gege hasn't bothered explaining it
I would not be surprised if there can only be a single 10 shadow technique alive, and even if there was, id highly doubt that there will ever, EVER be 2 users of mahoraga, since literally no 10 shadow user has ever managed to tame mahoraga
In the beginning of season two, Gojo told Megumi that a 10 shadow user once battled against a six eyes infinity user. Did that 10 shadow user not tame Mahoraga? He should have, but why did Megumi said that nobody managed to tame him?
As Megumi said when he was summoning Mahoraga, the user from long ago probably used him the same way he did. By dragging the Limitless user into the ritual and letting Mahoraga do the rest.
@@CommentPositionInformer Both Six Eyes and the Limitless Ps. "Infinity" is the passive state of the Limitless, which is what makes Gojo untouchable. Just wanted to point that out.
Its also likely that the Gojo head satoru mentioned was either not as skilled or talented as satoru is, or lacked RCT, thus lacking healing, Red, and Purple
Can mahoraga keep the adaptations from previous summoning? No. Not even the tamed Mahoraga. Why? Because if you summon mahoraga and it adapts but is killed, which is the only real way I can see him "going back" without killing said person it adapted to. Then Mahoraga per rules of 10 shadows technique will be used for creating a new shinigami. Damn, that last all 10 shinigami mix is going to be crazy.
I really wanna know why the 10 shadows technique is so highly regarded if it's crown jewel is so impossible to tame and therefore use outside of suicide bombing. Maybe it's just because Megumi is the strongest so he didn't portray the other techniques well but I don't see it
A skilled user can still use the other 9 Shikigami, the rapid summoning and desummoning, the fusions, and the storage space to amazing effect. The only reason it looks mid to some people is cus its being expected to compete with Satoru Gojo, whos most likely the strongest Gojo clan member to ever live
Spoiler: The way Sukuna uses it makes it clear how strong it can be when used by someone that knows what they're doing. He's able to use the individual shikigami's skills without even summoning them and can merge them together at will, as well as leave their techniques active "on the background" while fighting on his own, like we saw he doing with Mahoraga's wheel. In the right hands, it's good enough to rival the six eyes and infinity, which are stated in Canon to be the peak of the verse, so, of course it's valuable.
Hey bro thanks for the content as always, best jjk theorycraft out there! Regardin shadow mergin, do you think mahoraga can get merged as well? What would you think would be the merge of big raga + bunnies? XD
He'd simply destroy the domain like how he shattered Gojo's Infinite Void, think of Toji slicing up Geto's cursed spirit "am I pretty?" domain using The Inverted Spear of Heaven.
I’d guess whichever is easier, he adapts then keeps on adapting, so he may adapt to work within the rules then adapt to just break them, like with how he adapted to infinity and then kept adapting further in a more generalised way that Sukuna could mimic
Piggybacking off the two ten shadows users at the same time question, Do you think a mahoraga from one summoning could be dragged into another mahoraga summoning, effectively making it a one on one between the mahoragas?
"Nothing is overated" *_Nah I'd win_* The sorcerrors themselves are unrelaiable narrators for statements such as that one, unless Gege goes "ah yeah nothing in the universeof JJK can be not adapted to by Mahoraga, every statement like that is "any and all phenomenon *that we know of* " Specially with such an old technique whose to say Mahoraga can or can't adapt to nuclear radiation? Im not saying he can't but ancient sorcerors have absolutely no way of knowing if its within hes capabilities to adapt to it Gojo claiming that "infinity" makes a space between him and and anything else that can never be crossed (by doing some math mumbo jumbo and modifying speeds of things as they aproach him or something like that) ... And he promptly got stabbed in the neck by a weapon that "bypasses cursed techniques" Whose to say someone doesnt have a CT that makes "a wound that can never be healed" and Mahoraga just can't heal from it
Yes, in his explanation to Haruta Megumi stated that is the way you master the Ten Shadows at the start your given 2 Divine Dogs and from there must use them to exorcise the remaining Shikigami each one exorcised growing your arsenal until all ten are tamed...
So Mahoraga changing size didn’t happen in the manga, the anime just took some liberties expanding the fight, so it’s hard to say for sure. It definitely seems within the realm of possibility with what Mahoraga is capable of though
Japanese pronunciation is “Makora” (摩睺羅) the sanskrit pronunciation is “Mahoraga” (महोरग) English uses “Mahoraga” but some unofficial manga translations use “Makora”.
@@fishman2586 no, what's insane is that on top of this.. he can also use domain expansion to make two or three clones of this Mahoraga totality. AT MINIMUM!
Huh so if one of your 10 shadows is destroyed you can no longer summon em at all?? Does another creature take its place or do you become 9 shadow user instead of 10
If a user loses one of their ten shadows then they and only they permanently lose it. However, that shikigami's power can still be used by the other shikigami. For example, when Megumi lost the white dog out of his two divine dogs his black dog got access to a new form called totality. Another thing, if I remember correctly from what gege said, shikigami fusions are separate from the shikigami used to make them. So if a shikigami fusion gets destroyed you lose it but you still keep the shikigami used to make it.
@@marcuschiong306 It'd probably be better to apply them to different shikigami to increase the variety in powerful shikigami that you have access to, like max elephant etc. A side note is we don't know whether losing agito lost all the shikigami it's made from or not, or if it just lost Nue since that's the base shikigami. If they are not lost, it's possible the strongest shikigami that megumi could make would probably be: tiger funeral + great serpent + mahoraga, since tiger funeral was used in the making of agito it must be on the higher end of the 10S shikigami.
Actually this is wrong, he adapted to infinity in both a passive and offensive way, he adapted to it and it allowed him to deactivate gojos infinity simply by coming into contact with its field (getting close enough to gojo) and offensively from a distance due to the world cutting slash.
Actually the answer is just yes, we see in the gojo vs sukuna fight that maho adapts to infinity in 2 diffrent ways. By touch and by attack. Him being close to gojo deactivates infinity and allowed maho, sukuna, and agito to make physical contact with gojo, the world slash he used to slice gojos arm off bypasses infinity also.
This is incorrect, check chapter 232 and onwards, mahoraga was able to deactivate infinity simply by coming in contact with it not just attacking. It’s why Sukuna used the fire extinguisher vs gojo to see how mahoraga was bypassing infinity passively.
@@wellyoctanius5191 My mistake it actually chapter 233 but it does state he Mahoraga itself adapted to Gojo's inviolability. In my defense that whole chapter is an asspull. Mahoraga dies.
Toji has nothing that can completely destroy him... Unless you got some literal nuke attack that completely destroys... Like sukuna fire arrow or gojos red or purple. That thing ain't going nowhere.
Whatever plan Toji comes up with it would most likely require taking advantage of the inverted spear of heaven to work. Mahoraga and its abilities would be considered a cursed technique and thus its adaptation could be negated. Edit: I should add, unlike other ways to negate cursed techniques, it seems like things like the inverted spear of heaven, the black rope, or Angel's Jacob's Ladder technique are so powerful that counters either don't work or are ineffective.
Oh yes he can. If Toji has the Inverted Spear of Heaven he can quite literally make Mahoraga disappear in one shot. The ISOH forcefully stops any CT and Mahoraga is the byproduct of the 10 Shadows Technique so one stab of that bad boy and poof 10S is forcefully stopped and Mahoraga disappears
@@kazeguy8869 it negates technique to stab... It's a weapon that will stab in every situation. It won't negate 10 shadows. But it will keep stabbing mahoraga because it will keep bypassing adaptation. There will be no destroying. Unless mahoraga just becomes durable that it wont go through the skin. As the adaptation would not need any technique.
Here's a good question: Why are 9 out of the 10 Shikigami based on normal looking animals, and then there's this eldridge, lovecraftian horror among the roster? 😆
I Believe Mahoraga is supposed to be the human shadow, every shadow is an animal and the 10th one is the human animal, the bird has a sky-related abilty, the elephant has water-related, and the human one has a human-like abilty, growing and getting new skills as life goes on, mahoraga can probably learn how to talk if it is needed who knows The reason he has fcking wings like an eldritch? Idk lol, probably the same reason Nue has a mask face
These mfs need to first watch the anime I'm sure they came here after watching edit or small clips some of these things are just basic that they explain it in anime or some people are just slow learner
I don’t think Mahorago keeps adaptations between summons because spoiler… When Sukuna is using him in the manga, he’s *very* careful to keep him summoned and not let him be destroyed. If he kept adaptations, there are many instances where Sukuna could have just de and re summoned him to avoid damage, for surprise attacks, etc.
Reason Sukuna did this is because spoiler… When one of the Ten Shadows is summoned under your control (not part of the ritual) and defeated, the user can’t re-summon them again. For example when Fushiguro lost one of his Divine Dogs (but it got absorbed into the other dog and combined). Not sure if Mahoraga is special though and the remaining shikigami inherit its abilities or not.
@@NinjaoftheEnd You’re misunderstanding (spoilers cont) I said “he’s very careful to *keep him summoned* and not let him be destroyed” I know the destruction is because once a Shikigami is gone, it gets redistributed amongst the others…..but he still could have been *desummoning Mahoraga to avoid it being destroyed* Instead of playing constant defense and blocking Gojos attacks…..Sukuna could just be making Mahoraga shadow again then reforming him, like we usually see Megumi do with his summons. Sukuna even does it with Max Elephant, Round Deer and Piercing Ox if I’m remembering correctly.
@@itsjustvin7630 he was still partially summoned at this point, no? Like the wheel is being kept manifested, while the rest of his body isn’t? Sukuna even feeling the need to do that probably just serves as evidence towards Maho not keeping adaptations between full resummons
@@earn6890Yeah, but that's in the anime only, it's for dramatic effect. In the Manga, Mahoraga shows no recognizable facial expressions to suggest that there's really anything going on in that head of his . He's almost like a robot, it doesn't really have a personality or a desire or a will to do anything other than what it's programmed to do, which is to attack and adapt.
4:08 I would assume yes, because there are instances of multiple people having the same inherited technique being born in the same time period, blood manipulation and projection sorcery are both examples, I don't think there's anything stopping two people from the zen'in clan from being born with the 10 shadows at the same time, it's just rare.
Based on recent chapters it’s a definet yes as we see it’s a genetically acquired curse technique and not something like the six eyes that’s once per person Seeing as it was placed in the same level of importance as blood manipulation and we see a lot of those
Furthermore, Six eyes being limited to one person at a time is because of it being heavily tied to fate and the cycles of the world, while no such connection seems to exist for 10 shadows
Okay but like, if I tame Mahoraga, could I get him to play Chess and adapt to the point of being able to beat the best chess engines? Or if I wanted to use him to like write code for me, would he be able to adapt and become super efficient??
I don't think mahoraga got a brain bro.. He isn't smart. He constantly does the same thing until his body adapts and the same thing destroys the other dude.
Your explanation of if mahoraga keeps its adaptation is currently not confirmed and until explained by Gene just purely headcannon. Currently we have no evidence proving either side right with that, so until it is shown its more safe to assume that it cannot.
Ok this question has been bugging me. MANGA SPOILERS!!! If the TS user is supposed to defeat Mahoraga to tame him, and interfering with the ritual voids it completely. Then how was Sakuna able to use him in his fight with Gojo like he’s been tamed? Does the fact Sakuna defeated him in Shibuya mean he “tamed” him? Only thing that would make sense to me is if he re-tamed him after taking Megumi’s body (which wasn’t shown or implied).
Yo I had a thought. On the one question about if you could have two ten shadows users and then two mahoragas existing and being used at the same time. If those two mahoragas were to fight each other, would they adapt to each others adaption in the sense that if one attacked the other would adapt and then the other would adapt to adaption or would it just end in a full draw where neither could harm the other? Got no clue just a random thought and why not ask.
I wanted to know if mahoraga had a cursed technique like cursed speech (that has the drawback of hurting the user) would he be able to adapt to the drawback. For example if he had cursed speech and said “die” on an opponent far stronger than him such as sukuna would he be able to adapt to the drawback and not take damage from using cursed speech?
If Yuta copies Ten Shadows, 1. Could he keep Mahoraga if he tames it and 2. How would Rika interact with the technique? I.e., if one of the shikigami die would she be affected since she is now a shikigami?
Was mahoraga always a part of the ten shadows or was he created similarly like agito? because what if the ten shadows was completely different so like a Scorpion a weird winged creature etc and after they died that sorcerer made mahoraga and that's just the strongest shikigami that has been made so far which leans into another question If mahoraga died is it possible for him to also merge with other shikigami?
You said that two mahoragas existing is possible, but from what I’ve understood, he has to be passed down from one ten shadows user to the next, am I wrong somehow?
