Karan Thapar has an excellent point here. You and Mahua Moitra are simply feeling frustrated Karan did not indulge in pure Modi bashing but also bashed Mamta. All the CMs and especially the PM should have woken up in mid to late 2020 to and put out global tenders. At that time the central government wasted time harping on atmanirbhar bharat, with no thought for a timeline. CMs were basically sleeping, which could of course be partly because vaccine procurement was not state governments' responsibility anyway- still not even making forceful suggestion at the appropriate time is pure devil may care attitude.

PM giving permission to the State Governments to procure vaccine under pressure and thereafter blaming the states is laughable. Mr. Modi knew he had messed up the whole procedure and he was buying time. He knew the manufacturers of Vaccines like Phizer etc. would not supply to the states. Giving permission to the States to procure vaccines directly when he knew full well the World's policy, is another wrong decision. Besides, India had not approved vaccines from Phizer etc. For innoculation in India. This is deliberate misleading. How many lives have been lost for lack of inaction by the PM.? Should the Centre not be held accountable for the lives lost?

A reason for this kind of behaviour (this time} could be that he had an interest in her and she refused. I'm not saying it's true ... but it could be possible. His last interview I saw with Mahua, he seemed besotted with her. It was actually quite embarrassing.
