We left gorgeous Ballet Bay after spending two peaceful nights at anchor and continued north up the Sunshine Coast for an overnight stop at Lund Marina. Lund is a small village located at the end of Highway 101.
We snagged a berth on a giant floating concrete breakwater dock and took the dinghy ashore to get groceries and some cinnamon buns from the famous Nancy's Bakery.
For more information on Lund, see a video I did when staying at the Sunlund RV Park - www.loveyourrv.com/camping-at...

This is a fantastic addition to your channel. I'm really enjoying the difference and similarities to road vs water RVing.

There is an important life lesson playing out here. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, the drive from Nanaimo to Campbell River takes a bit over two hours. Ray and Anne have turned that into a week or more of journey. Make the journey as important as the destination.

So true, the drive from BC to AZ is around 20 hours, usually take us 2-3 weeks in the RV. :)

Just beautiful. I liked seeing the anchor being pulled up since I have no reference of what goes on. Just fascinating. What a treat to watch. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Guys.. Great video. Anne, your just like my wife, always cold and wrapped up when there's a breeze, even if it's 80+ degrees out. Ray, You need a water hose with sprayer at the Bow, so you can clean the Anchor and Chain as you bring it up. Y'all have fun and we'll see you next time.

I did a live-aboard scuba trip by Port Hardy. I took their sea kayak out and was paddling away, rounded a corner, and, to my surprise, their was a floating log camp. They were sooo quiet, none in the group knew they were there. Spent 5 hours following a pod of 50-60 dolphins; they were putting on a show for us. At the end of the fifth hour, the dolphins made a 90 degree turn to the right, all in unison (either they were bored of us or a killer whale was detected).

Boating is different and nice because we are in a different state and give a different experience. But I find that its more restricktive because of water plan. I used to own a boat but sold it and now have a fifth wheel. Have fun !

My brother and SIL just sold their 33 foot boat and replaced it with a new pickup and travel trailer. They found the boating season was way too short. They'll follow me down to the U.S. southwest this fall for a winter stay (where I met Ray & Anne).

@@LoveYourRV oh yeah, that's handy. Safe to run saltwater through?
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Год назад
I'll find out. :) Its mostly plastic as far as I can tell so my guess is there isn't anything to corrode but may plug with dried salt crystals, so if using it with salt water I'll run a bit of fresh through it afterwards to flush it.

I'm debating what Ray's first boat project will be, more solar or a deck wash to spray the chain, anchor and deck off with.

Thanks. I mostly use a Sony Camcorder AX43. It has great zoom and image stabilization abilities. www.sony.ca/en/electronics/handycam-camcorders/fdr-ax43 Some footage like time lapse and underwater is from little Akaso Brave 8 action cam www.akasotech.com/brave8

Thanks! Nice clarity and very stable image. Are you using a tripod a lot of freehanding. We have done this same trip many times on the way to Princess Louisa and the Broughtons. Getting ready to buy another Albin 25 to go exploring again. That was our first boat and probably will be our last boat too! See you out and about sometime!

Very nice videos. Sure is some beautiful country you are going thru. Water and weather has been good to you also. How much fuel does the boat hold and how long can you go on a fill? Also how big are you water and black tanks? When do you plan on being at your destination? I guess Ann is the Captain and you are just the clean up guy. lol
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Год назад
It holds 250 gallons of diesel and uses about 1.5 - 2 gallons per hour at 7 knots. Haven't measured precisely yet, but looks like at least 120 gallons of fresh tanks and about a 25-gallon black tank. We made it to Campbell River 2 days ago. I still have one more video to edit and publish, completing the maiden voyage series. Anne is the captain and navigator. I'm first mate, deckhand, cook, and chief engineer. :)

Thanks Ray. If you don’t mind sharing, what is your gasoline/diesel costs so far? Also, what is your average travel hours per day? Thank you.

@LoveYourRV Год назад
Anne check today and we have 31 hours on the diesel engine thus far. Took a couple short shake down trips in Sidney to the spit and back and then 7 hops to get to Campbell River. Don't know exactly how much fuel yet as we haven't refilled to check how many liters we used.

Hi Ray, just curious as to why the audio of your videos lately is so much in the left channel and very little in the right channel. Not that I'm complaining.
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV 11 месяцев назад
I guess sometimes I hold it a little away from my head to the right, especially when using the other arm to grab and balance, therefore the audio is louder on the stereo mic that is closer to my mouth. :) Maybe I should record in mono..
