Do you even know what country music is? This album is far from country. A couple songs have a steel guitar type sound on the lead and that’s about the only thing Country. It’s an incredible album. Probably their best two albums. I can accept that you didn’t like it and we’re more into there thrash stuff, but saying this is a country album simply because of mama said which was a one off is ignorant. Your just showing your lack of understanding about what country music is.
Open up your mind, Metallica is the best band in the world and in music history in my opinion because they have been able to create a broad range of different songs and albums that all put there own spin on what Rock/thrash/heavy metal/and even slow or melodic metal can be. I hated st anger when it first came out, I still thing the song drug on a bit to long and the snare drum was a mistake. But I learned to understand and appreciate what they were trying to do. They wanted to sound like a band just jamming out in the garage and they wanted to tune low and reinvent themselves temporarily. Try on a new hat. I can understand that as a musician. I think they have incredible guts to take chances like they have and most of there best work has came from pushing the limits. You have to look at there body of work in its entirety. Not one album at a time. Open up your mind, you’ll be glad you did. You’ll learn to love a lot of there stuff once you let go of the idea it isn’t master of puppets and isn’t supposed to be. The same people that hate everything after master of puppets are the same people that would be saying all there shit just sounds the same, if they handnt changed things up. You have no clue the talent these guys have and the trillion to one odds that musicians this talented would all even find each other in the universe or even be born in the same lifetimes to even start a band like this. They are a miracle group and the world probably won’t see anything like them for another 500 years or more. Buy a guitar, learn to play, try to start a band and write and record an album and then tell me these guys aren’t possibly the best band to have ever been in existence. Every song is brilliant. They have to laugh there asses off listening to guys like you talk about how bad they suck while they sit and look at platinum album after album after album hanging on the wall and trying to figure out how to spend the 10 trillion dollars they made last month on record sales alone.
Listen to all the Ulver discography and then you will understand how the world could already easily know a group that has excellently ranged between one genre and another, Metallica have tried but with mediocre results, there is little to do, historically not will never be remembered at levels of Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin or Queen, those are bands that have practically never missed a shot
I love Load, (not Reload), but I understand why people dont dig it. If you want a band that always switches up their sound give King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard a shot.
