Lol, I kinda hated, load and reload. When they came out, I had listened to Metallica for years already. load is better, by a-lot, I could listen, to that whole album. This one, I usually got through the first few songs, then off it went.Years and years later, I can actually listen to both, while i do not think there the best, I actually think there listen able, I have put Reload and Load, on at work in there entirety, and enjoyed it.
I don't think it sucked but Load and Reload were meant to be a double album. I think they could've cut a few tracks from each and made one great album.
Taken as a Metallica release it's a disappointment obviously, but if this album had been released by any of the dozens of vapid alt-rock bands of the late 90s/early 00s be it Creed or Nickelback, you'd be calling it the best album of their career. The only way to objectively review this album is to not be holden to the name of the band who made it ultimately. Whether or not that's possible is a good question to ask.
