So horrible what our grand and great grand fathers did to each other. Hope this will never happen again. (Yes i'm aware we Germans were the aggressor) The Russian and German people like each other as far as i know.
This video has been selected by the channel as one of the best Visual Effects videos on RU-vid and was added to the channel's playlist accordingly. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic work, well done!!! However, from the reviews I've read of the actual movie it's a terrible embarrassing Hollywood style pastiche. What a waste of all that beautiful CGI :-(
worse than hollywood...its strange...its like...i dunno...i think its because russians have different concepts of love, sacrifice, courage, liking...i found many scenes creepy...like the love stories... and the war part...it sucks...just good effects...but you see the best scenes in the trailer...so you basically have already seen all that was worth
This is so good, it makes me want to switch careers and get into this kind of work. My experience working with CAD, and my limited experience with photo editing and some minimal coding helps me to appreciate the use of layers and the modular assembly of the elements. I love how this video gives you a glimpse into that breakdown.
OUTSTANDING!!!! I know I don't have the PC power to pull that off... although I am a 3D Studio MAX user from WAY back! I know and can appreciate the effort (overwhelmingly) that it takes to produce these effects! As a war buff also, I thank you for all your hard work!
This is fabulous... Brilliant loved the work to the core and above that the way you guys have put together the reel giving the details how its done. Sharing knowledge is gaining knowledge. You guys will rock!
It looks out of place when it's used as an obvious alternative, but here, almost every single scene looks amazing, and it'd be difficult to tell exactly what's CG and/or composited.
My great grandfather survived the Battle of Stalingrad. He was shot in the foot and hid among dead bodies in the center of a courtyard. When he left Stalingrad to go back to germany, people would hang on the wings of airplanes when they took off because they were so desperate to get away from the battle. I think this depicted parts of the battle very well, good job.
wrong tool you learn the future goes annother route like Andrew Price (Blender Guru) suggested -- alot of this stuff is made in Houdini you can read on Sidefx.com about this making story.
That.. was.. beautiful !!! I study postproduction 1.semester and this just made me even more confindent with my choice of work :o! AMAZING ! Thank you realy much guys
What you have created here is amazing. Made my jaw drop definitely. I wish I could produce effects like these. I hope all these positive comments encourage you post more awesome videos! :)
Now that is some amazing sh^t! I have been doing Photoshop and Illustrator for many years. I just recently got into After Effects and video copilot. for visual effect. You got a thumbs up and a new subscriber.
+Urban Deployment I'm working on photoshop right now. I have been told that Adobe After Effects is used for animation. So is this video used by Adobe After Effects? What kind of softwares are included in the making of this video?
I understood from what you said that someone needs to be really good at photoshop and illustrator to move to 3d stuff. I'm on the way anyway. thanks. :)
Wonder what reaction the actors in this had. When filming, they're mid day, sunny. In final cut, they're at night, in mist and on fire etc. Incredible.
glen ewing i didnt say i could do better... i.e. when you watch a movie and you dont like does not mean you know how to act better .... i said its amazing vfx but there are few weak points ....
Enigma w What are these weak points? If you're referring to something that is only noticeable if you look at the scene ten times in a row with a magnifying glass, then it's not even a noteworthy flaw. Only thing I could notice was how the woman at 2:50 looks directly at the camera before being pushed down. That was really amateurish, if I may say.
TheCassual 1- 1:40 an explosion that big would flip the small boats or at least shakes them a bit 2- 1:54 the smoke and debris of the explosions had almost an identical shape.. 3- 2:50 the tank shell would have destroyed the wall it hit and makes a big hole... and the room would be filled with smoke / dust instantly ... but the video shows like it hit an armor...and the smoke was pushing to 1 side 4- 6:07 the airplanes... i have seen more realistic ones in games BUT once again ... as i said ... it is still amazing ...and i only had those points... which you may not agree with which i think this is normal ...
You cant say shit man have you ever done anything like this. If you can do better then that's great but pointing out the minor imperfection of someones amazing piece of art is just a dick move. The vfx artist that put there time and effort into this did it to show off the amazing talent not so some troll could go "FAKE AND GAY" they did it because its what they love to do. And you saying its not that good iv seen better is just stupid. And I would like to point out that this is some great work that they have done and i cant wait to see the hole thing.
Great volume of work for such a small crew. The particle simulations looks really good. Not all shots were photoreal but as long as it helps the story, nobody will notice. How long was the post production schedule?
its already out, it sucks as i told ya....sorry...i waited for it alot too....but is awfull...have you ever seen "pearl harbour? the same stuff...good effects but the rest is crap :-)
