I saw the small IGA food store on the Promenade back then, I grew up from the mid 70's through the 80's in Richmond and IGA was a grocery store equal to any in that time.
It's crazy too that if you look at the silhouettes of the buildings there's a lot you can recognize as still there. Of course a pretty large chunk was taken out in the explosion, but there's still a lot of ancient history in Richmond. I lived in a underground railroad house, and a old carriage hotel during my time in Richmond. It was once the crossroads of America, and crossroads are significant in supernatural happenings. Jim Jones was a Richmond native, Charlie Manson wrote in one of his books that he wanted to move there, and Terry McNichols lived there shortly before the OK City bombings. I know a ton of super freaks before I hit the road for good.

Most everyone was dressed up to go downtown. I'm noticing a lot of white shoes, must have been before Labor Day. Not everybody was as stick thin as I thought they would've been, but still thinner than people today. Interesting to see the hustle bustle of the crowds.
It’s only a memory recorded on film. Can you imagine trying to explain what their future downtown will look like in the future . Sadley you could probably bulldoze most of these little cities right off the map without any real consequences .
Mostly, yes, but not all. The children could still be alive in 2022. My great aunt is 98, her sister, 96, as was Queen Elizabeth until yesterday. My father passed in January at 97 and two people in my community are 102 and 103, respectively.
Judging by the large number of flower prints, contrasting outfits, signs, architecture, I would think this video would be a good candidate for colorization. I've lived in Richmond Indiana for 27 years now and you can tell there have been drastic changes to the layout and backdrops of the cityscape. I found it somewhat difficult to place some of the not-so-obvious locations. After watching the people scuttling all about I decided that what I was seeing was likely a lot of sore feet. Shoes have come a long way in the past 80+ years! Of course the people were in much better shape from the neck down and probably had a lot of poor eyesight, partial deafness, undiagnosed illnesses, broken, rotten, missing teeth from the neck up. A lot of strong women and expressions that todays world may have seen as disgruntled or perturbed but was likely just less emotional or expressive than us 'future folk'. 🚎💈🎡🎢🏢🏚
