I was on duty at the Bella Notte on the night of the last ELP. Some kitchen cast members had never seen the parade so I got everyone out to see it pass by. We were at the end of the parade before it went back stage. To be fair it was a brilliant sending off, the parade cast members really went to town on it. We were all in our chefs whites and outdoor jackets, with a heap of managers but no one said a word to us. A night to remember.
Here's something I bet you didn't know about the Paris version of the parade, with the exception of the Ballroom float and the Swans, all the rest were built in California . Florida took over building floats for their version in 1978 and *ALSO* built Tokyo's floats as well (yes, even "Fantillusion" was built in Orlando)
I miss this parade so much it hurts when I see this video. I absolutely love it! thank you for showing this! oh how I wish DLRP would redo this as their nighttime show ! It was nothing but magic those years in 90's and 00's
Was a popcorn salesman in Disneyland Paris for three months in 1996 and a showplayer for three months in '97, this parade got SO on my nerves after a while. Love it now, just goes to show the nature of nostalgia.
Thanks for the many beautiful memories. We were in the summer 2001 in disneyland Paris, my daughter were at that time nine years old. We enjoyed the stay really much. Again thanks and cordial greets from Austria
It's really great that Disneyland Resort Paris used the original version and speed of the Main Street Electrical Parade compared to the other theme parks that made the excuse to 'cheography reasons'. This version of the soundtrack is muxh more better and more original feel-like.
Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls Disneyland Paris proudly presents our most spectacular pagent of night time magic and imagination in thousands of sparkling lights and electro musical sounds the Main Street electrical parade.
Thank you SO much for the memories from a DP5YR employee - it was a great summer as a "show-player", even if the parade music is only good in hindsoght. :-)
Here’s the English version announcer for Disneyland Paris Main Street USA if that was spoken in English Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Disneyland Paris proudly presents Our spectacular festival pageant Of nighttime magic and imagination In thousands of sparkling lights And electro-syntho-magnetic musical sounds, The Main Street Electrical Parade!
that's the first time i've seen Pluto in Minnie's spot usually he or Donald rode on the tender.such a shame Disneyland never had variety like that well except for 1988 that is.
learned something interesting tonight from one of the flooat drivers. apparently most of the time they were short on performers so they just stuffed Sleepy's costume to make it look liuke there was someone in it when there really wasn't
That same mine float is being used to the original Copy Main Street Electrical Parade in Anaheim today. :) Sadly the rest of these floats went into long term storage in the middle of nowhere, and have yet to be brought back out. It's possible they were scrapped, it's possible they were sold to private collectors, it's possible they got lost. But I find this copy, despite how MUCH shorter it is than the original, just as beautiful and magical. I still feel Walt Disney's presence because it is the classics that were created and enjoyed by him. It certainly beats the Main Street Electrical Parade Wannabe Paint The Night.
yeah and Pinocchio's float had some pretty bad damage on the way home from Florida (that's why it wasn't used in Anaheim's most recent run. I'm a little surprised Paris wanted Disneyland's Diamond Mine when Tokyo had one of their own.
All the Tokyo floats apart from Swan Lake were badly damaged after the end of its run and couldn’t be used again. The version of the parade Paris got was from WDW, and I think Hong Kong Disneyland has it currently, but still in heavy crates.
@@IMEEntertainmentinteresting. I guess Tokyo doesn't have much luck with floats after they are done using them. 18 of Fantillusion's 31 floats were exposed to weather elements during the packing of the floats for transport to Paris.
I Know. If Disneyland in California Buy these Floats from Hong Kong, Like They Did with the Diamond Mine and Pleasure Island, They Would used It as Backups.
Heck, these floats are MINT!!!! Practically like new, and would just need to be converted to LEDs, and they'd be good. They'd replace the old tired floats, which could go to the Disney Family Museum for display.
