Maine Island Trail in a NE Dory 2014 

I bought a Northeaster Dory this Fall from my cousin in Maine. It's uncharted territory for me at 65, so I'm enjoying your videos! Keep'm comin! Love the one with your boy!

You guys are awesome. Teamwork, smiles, enjoying each other in spite of the weather. I want to build this boat so my wife and I can do the same.

Did you build or buy the NE dory and if you built it was it from the kit or did you just use the plans and source your own suplies

I'm building one of these right now ... in part because of these great videos : ) CLC's manual has you rowing from the forward thwart by the mast with a single passenger on the back thwart. I see you've set yours up to row from the middle thwart. Probably more convenient and maybe more efficient? But you didn't find the boat back-heavy in this setup?

Hi Guys - Great video. I built the original balanced lug rig CindyLu Nor'Easter Dory which you may have seen on RU-vid. QUESTION: Have you ever swamped your boat? I've always been concerned about swamping the CindyLu on Lake Erie where it's very puffy and unpredictable. Thought of a re-design adding more flotation. Thanks a bunch - Jim Kozel

Boy, that dory sure burns along under that lug sail. Generally not the most efficient rig, but you'd hardly know it watching this video.

nice video .....and nice boat . I am building a ''doris the dory'' 4.6m dory and I am a little bit confused about the sailcloth. Can a 1.2 ounce nulon ripstop fabric do the job .... a 2.5 ounce maybe..........what did you use?

This boat is dificulta to handle.
