The best part of this video was not the truck, it was the people. Regular, down-to-earth kind of guys without make up, bright lights, a script or agenda. No one concerned about looks or class or politics. Just plain hard working men who are the backbone of this great nation just being themselves. How wonderful and refreshing!!
Those are aggressive tires, Tesla intentionally orders them with half the tread depth to improve on road handling. Which I find ridiculous but if you just got out of a model 3 or an Outback like most ordering this thing, you have no idea why it’s ridiculous.
The tires aren't the problem. It's the gross vehicle wait. Its way to heavy to be effective in mud. More aggressive tires would only dig deeper. Even if I could afford one I wouldn't even consider it. The only thing it does do is not run off gas.
Wouldn't matter in these conditions and the weight and balance. It's not designed for this and has those weight limitations. Plus it can't carry anywhere near as much as a full sized truck and batteries hate cold weather.
@@boostav I’m not referring to weight. I’m referring to the size of the truck bed. It looks like for that you will always need a trailer unless it’s stuff that will fit in the trunk of a big car or the back of my SUV. I agree with you. That might be an OK truck for the weekend project kind of guy that has a Ford F150 for a daily driver. But real men that do real jobs drive F250 & F350 super duties. And of course anyone that needs to pull a big trailer especially a gooseneck or fifth wheel. People that have horses or cattle or campers. My dad used to have that really sweet F150 styleside back in the 90s, but then he retired and got an F250 super duty with the 7.3 L diesel. He could do 70 down the interstate pulling their 37 foot fifth wheel camper and a boat behind the camper like he was on a Sunday drive.
Tucker is so down to Earth and a pleasure to meet as a normal person. I met him at a restaurant in Virginia's Northern Neck when he was on a fishing trip. SUCH a nice guy. He asked me more questions about myself than I could ask him about himself. Great guy.
My YJ Jeep tore through anything with a set of baby 31s 9 inch wide on stock rims. Just cheap BFG ATs. Tires make or break a vehicle. When I first got it, it had wide, offset Latino style rims, and it couldn't drive in the rain, let alone 4x4. It was my most vivid experience in the understanding of tires and proper offsets.
It's amazing how Tucker can roll into a logging camp, shake hands, and fit right in with the crew and not seem awkward or out of place. Definitely a man of the people...
@pravak6745 Wait, what?... I suggest you learn some pre soviet history about the region and about dissolution. Do you know the treaties made to Gorbachev that granted independence or later what the Minsk accourd was about or heard that famous quote from Angela Merkel? Do you know what happened to Viktor Yanukovych and how the current clown Zelenskyy was installed? Russia 🇷🇺 has done nothing wrong and is actually on the right side of history 👏

I’m frankly surprised that with this high level of authenticity, candor and old-fashioned sincerity, we didn’t get a content-warning message. No presumptive DEI statements either! Plus one Maine logger mentioned about attending church. “ danger!” You know, for our “safety”. 😂
I'm not. These guys are actually doing something. When you need to get something done people want something that will get it done. "Keep it simple stupid". And this is quite simple despite the narratives. The problem is there isnt a simple solution to power the vehicle.
I do cross country trips in my Y every winter. I get 90% the rated range because you can pre-condition before leaving and once on the road your battery never has a chance to cool down. People don't realize your car can warm while plugged into the wall on a schedule or when you plan to make a trip. Even if you don't, the car starts to assume your schedule based on your habits and do it automatically. Even if you remove the LTE and WiFi adapter, it doesn't phone home, it all does it in the car locally.
@@thomasshingleton9289The problem with Vance for me is, you can fix stupid. They push that he is very intelligent. If he were there would be no need to push the narrative. Not to mention his past. Forgive and forget is one thing but his past highlights stupidity or corruption. Forgive but don't hand the keys to low IQ guy. That's alot of our problem now. People have been failing upward, inserting low IQ, Dei and anti American dimits in positions of power in govt and business to bring America to her knees.
It's equipped for easy installation of a light bar and there seems to be an infinite variety of wraps, including lots of camo designs. You don't want mud tires for most trips around town so do what anyone with a truck does, have mud tires as an extra set.
Nothing should be mandated and EVs aren't in any significate way. The thought drives legit vitriol, but it is what it is and that's a brilliant piece of work. (((Elon also doesn't support subsidies let alone mandates)))

Right, the role of adisors can only be overlooked but not denied. I got financially free at the age of 49 with over $1.6m in investment account alone. I was shocked that I made more money with money than with hard work, even my CEO income. Earning "return on investment" makes me more happy. (But I still enjoy working)

As the daughter of a Maine logger, I appreciate how real Tucker is. The problem with any electric vehicle in central to Northern Maine, is going to be mileage. I would think a lot of states would have the same issue.
No one ever mentions that it's built like that because the stainless steel cannot be formed. Did you see the Cyber truck that got shot up and the occupants weren't hit? There were around 30 bullet dents on one side.
@redsquirrelftw Yeah the center of gravity and axle quality and alignment when the race. I was just reflecting back I guess on the first year my son did the derby and I didn’t own a scroll saw yet. There were lots of angles after I ran it through the tablesaw. 😁
@@redsquirrelftw my dad owned an auto restoration business (primarily Studebaker and Packard) and my brother and I built our pine wood derby cars there. Our cars shined like a diamond after five or six coats of clear. We would put the axles in a drill and polish them with the same compound he used to buff chrome and stainless trim, followed by graphite on terry cloth. I haven't seen them in thirty years and have no idea where they are now. I'm sure my dad has them in a box somewhere.
The Tesla Semi is though. Another independent test did a GVW of 82,000Lb run and got 530 miles with 18 miles remaining. That confirmed Pepsi's Results of 540 miles. They apparently under-estimated a range for once lol.
Its not ready for anything other than further development. Expensive, terrible range and loads of issues. Mostly due to poor engineering because Elon's ego. Cast aluminum for the rear structure/towing? FAIL.

Batteries a problem? Electric infrastructure? Sure, the grid needs to be a lot beefier although its biggest challenge now is the massive power consumption of giant computer data centers being built for AI development. Tesla is not just a car/truck company. The fastest-growing part of their business is huge utility-scale battery farms that enable the grid to even out energy production to meet peak demand.
@@blackrifle6736 I’m relaxed, just thought it was funny that I didn’t think it was actually a real thing at first and curious if there were others who thought the same
How many miles do U need per day? Few bucks of electric overnight plugged in at home gives another 200 plus miles. On road trips, say across Canada, U need 30 minutes every 200 miles, time to pee, eat and walk the dogs/kids.
If you drive under 300 miles a day, EV's are often better than normal cars. They just charge over night, and tou never have to visit a charging station. If you travel over 300 miles a day, then you are right. They probably are not optimal.
I drive up north 6 hour drive, many times a year. I’m also towing a boat, EV will never appeal to people who tow, unless the range is 700 miles. Even then, I won’t sacrifice brakes and tires every 2 years, over a weekly gas bill. Tires ain’t cheap, I can do brakes, I just don’t want to do it almost every year or every other. Stopping to let the dog walk and gassing up only takes 10-15 minutes, I’m not stopping for 2 hours to charge and sure as hell not doing it twice in one trip, no thanks.z
@@wilhoroshak6253 2 hours? 30 minutes is closer to reality and it's decreasing every yr. U need not babysit charging, plug in walk away and do whatever, meal, walk the dog, pee. Plus there's no friction in the process, no card swipe or cash at the counter, just plug in and it's done. (using a Supercharger) Naturally most folks most of the time never visit a public station, just charge overnight at home. Not saying available options for BEV tow rig meet your needs just yet, likely not, but it's not ridiculously impractical as U present.
@wilhoroshak6253 A couple notes with this. First, EVs definitely have limits, and if you roadtrip often while towing, I wouldn't suggest an EV. However, EVs actually don't wear out your brakes. In theory, you should almost never need to get new brakes. Most of your braking is actually done with the motors. The brake pads are only used for slamming on the brakes. In terms of charging, you can charge about 200 miles in 15 minutes and 400 miles in about 45 minutes depending on the vehicle, on a level 3 charger. Level 4 charges are coming out, which are even faster.
Thanks a lot, Tucker. Elon is the super hero of the 21st century. I totally share his views and goals for politics and society. And after he endorsed Trump, many people now consider buying a Tesla.
Wholeheartedly agree! We love Elon, such a wonderful human being, smart, (handsome) and yes ..we too hated the Cyber truck, we hate that the government "thinks" they can FORCE us all to only buy electric vehicles when we all know we are too far away from being able to sustain electric...don't force people to do something we dont want ......Tucker and Patrick, thank you for a wonderful review of this truck. It was honest, funny and entertaining. I would consider a Cybertruck.....if we knew it could handle our Maine winters. L😊ve you guys....❤

I needed some Tucker content like this today. I get withdrawals of his laugh and content packaging. Probably what its like if you leave home without your Zyn.
Try driving it for major trucking jobs in the cold winter of Maine and see how long the battery lasts before you need to find a charging station (if you can) to charge for 1-2 hours which won’t even top it up. People who buy this are not serious about using it for truck work. It is a fashion statement for the coffee and cars crowd.
Sure, but after jumping it 15 feet in the air, and dropping the rear from 10 feet, onto a solid concreate slab. No truck survives that unscaved. He also killed the normal truck on one of the first tests they did and had to replace it for the rest of the video.
Tucker, I live in maine. I am a big fan of tesla and cybertruck. I have to tell you this content is so great. I am amazed that this is what you are doing now! I love it and am so happy for you. This is just fun and great.
I would check in with these guys in February in Maine and see what they think. I would bet that none of them will buy the Tesla because it is a toy for them and no more. IMHO.
Tucker I wish you would have changed the tyres for these guys. PS - im not super tesla fanboy. But I do highly appreciate yours and Elon's honest approach towards all of us. The way you communicate with people is highly inspiring, thanks
@@peterbills4129 to be unburdened by what once was gas for the significance of electric we must carve a path forward to realize ROI in the sense insignificant things are less significant with an unburdened electric future what now is and can be.
@@markplott4820 Not really sure you know how ROI works. It's not just a number attached to a product. But since you stated it like that, you're claiming that a Cybertruck is going to make you $27k a month, just for owning it.
I'm not anti-EV. I'm anti-forced-EV. These are the Model-T days of the next evolution. Let 'em cook. :) Great video Tucker. Enjoyed the honest review from real Americans.
Yeah since there's no electricity in many parts of Maine where the logging actually occurs and where homesteads and camps are you better be able to drive back out to actual electricity or you're screwed SMH
There is one huge problem with this review, one HUGE problem.. it's too damn short! 😂 I bet I got some of you. Why does it seem like Elon Musk is battling WhistlinDiesel? Everytime WD post, Elon Musk slaps back with a sponsored video from Tucker Carlson. Very obvious. Cybertruck frame is a massive issue. Actually bigger then a massive issue; It is the truck!
So the frames issue for a possibly mass market truck is that people that literally make money beating the fuck out of things for a living believe the frame is not strong enough?
Let’s ask a logger how he uses his truck and then not test the vehicle we brought because we already know it will fail 🤦 Range and Capacity are not there…Conclusion Cybertruck=Toy
That’s not a truck that’s an elitist toy! Try running it in -20 Degree Weather and 2 feet of snow or back road jobs sites filled with water mud a foot or two deep! How about towing 10,000 plus lbs of equipment and construction materials?
PIeces fall off this truck all the time, it gets wet and Tesla voids the warranty. Seriously, they have bricked in car washes and Tesla blamed them for not being in car wash mode. They are poorly built with 0 QA.
Wyoming is the best state to review the CyberTruck because of the distance between towns and small cities. It's a diverse with flat lands up to serious mountains.
@@McClarinJ the charge time is too slow. The one gentleman said he puts up to 400 miles a day on his truck. Cybertruck needs to recharge at 300. Charge times take too long which increases labor costs which is then passed along to the client/consumer. Plus that bed doesn't look suitable for hauling equipment (or crew members) in the back. I would definitely drive it to the beach with a trailer in tow, or drive on some two-tracks, but I also don't see this as a work truck for heavy duty tasks.
@@ScottCovert how can you be so wrong on so many points? First off not many people do 400 miles a day.. second Tesla already has a cyber truck version that brings a total miles close to 500. Also, the bed is 6 foot long a standard bed. F150 is 5 1/2
@@zandercerlong7238 1) these loggers do need to drive several hundred miles a day 2) this isn't that model Cybertruck 3) the bed isn't "open" like traditional trucks. That's all.
@@ScottCovert again “these” loggers..you are talk about a small subset of people who use trucks for work. I hav used a truck for work and was only doing like 100-150 per day. It’s a tiny fraction of ppl doing 300-400 miles per day & you also have to stop and eat for lunch so you can just supercharge the truck so 250 + 250 is 500. Also YES every cybertruck sold thus far can be taken back to Tesla and they are going to offer batter range extender getting it to 480miles on a single charge. Installations start in October. Why speak if you are not informed?
Nothing like a Cybertruck that cost $80,000, weighs 6,600 lbs. with a aluminum frame, 1/4 ton capacity on a 4x6 bed, to haul lumber. It's a joke, I doubt it will do 50 miles off road.
Getting my own truck has always been my dream for my business. I just acquired 2 recently, earning $32K bi weekly, which has been really helpful. I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support the Church.
That's not a stress test, that's abusing it with the intent to destroy it lol This is a $100K+ vehicle, there's no way I'd risk damaging it by doing anything remotely close to what he did.
When Tucker asks "would you be nervous about taking something like this in the woods?" and the answer was "I don't know that yet" tells me all I need to know about these gentlemen. Let's make an informed decision on all of our choices.... shall we?
Any modern vehicle, EV or not, that has wireless connectivity is just as susceptible to outside control... They do things to protect against outside influence. With as scepticism of gov overreach as Elon has, I'd trust his company to be more protective against that than any other automaker
@@zandercerlong7238 what are you talking about? 😂 All I said is that an EV is no more or less susceptible to being hijacked.
