If the giant hole is the only issue with that radiator I wonder if you could close the ends of the damaged tubes. Braze them closed. Maybe fashion a patch to close off the underside of the header tank. Of course JB Weld is pretty good at filling in holes in a pinch.
Being from the area, I've done business with Thomas Radiator for about 25 years. Radiators, heater cores, fuel tanks, etc. they've always done right by me. Radiator shops are getting hard to find these days, so I feel fortunate to still have a good one close at hand. The old Binder is a real gem. I'm glad to see it getting some love.
That much fuel in the oil, might want to verify that you're not getting gas in to the oil from a bad seal in the fuel pump where the pump arm is. Side note on your wheels, if those are split rim wheels and you're wanting to go to a safer one piece wheel, I believe the military Jeep M715 wheels are the same bolt circle (7 3/8" x 6) and that may be a lead to follow when trying to find replacements. Another option is having a wheel company cutting out the center discs of the wheel and welding them in to new wheel barrels of whatever diameter & width you want.
Mick, use Simple Green on the Carhardt. It’ll take the oil out. Might not completely remove the stains, but should knock the stink down. Great vid as always! Can’t wait to see the old girl on the road!
great video mick, can’t wait to see her on the road and a big ol’ smile out the drive side window! the old work table is sweet, that thing will last forever
MAN!!!!! That oil was like water it was so thin looking. Good thing you changed it sooner than later. That tick noise will probably go away after the oil change and a few heat cycles. Looking forward to the next video.
As my first car, i bought a 94’ F250 Turbo diesel..long bed..it was the most frustrating experience at first, now i’m watching 30 minute truck videos that i otherwise wouldn’t be the slightest bit interested in…anyways, where did you get your glasses?
I can see why you wanted to fix up that truck if you look around your house there isn’t any other vehicles or skid steers that need work ….. at all …… anywhere lol
