I absolutely agree with you, when you talk about the Caribbean you want to see palm trees and feel the tropical experience. Majestic elegance costa mujeres is a newer and beautiful property but I rather have that Caribbean feel. Otherwise I feel like I'm in the states. Thank you for your videos. It help me alot. Excellent analysis as always. I am just back from Majestic Elegance Punta Cana. James: I have been there twice this year and its got everything to do with your review from earlier in the year!! Why did I go back? You nailed it: SERVICE and the food The Elegance Club Concierge staff is the best. I upgraded to the 1 bedroom and it was spectacular! It doesnt have the craziness of a Republica (but I am too old for that).
@@Coolist James, my interest is with Excellence Resorts. You gave it a pretty stellar review (a 5 on your scale). You are, however, the persuasive one. I went with Majestic Elegance initially because of your reviews (better pool layout) but I completely appreciate Mirage has a platinum level coffee shop and a far better sports bar. I stayed in the upgraded at Majestic Elegance. Wow! The one-bedroom is a massive step up to the Junior Suite which is itself great. The one-bedroom to nearly double in size and has a much better bathroom layout with two jetted tubs (indoor and outdoor).
Thanks for the video this is great. We are getting married at ME in Punta Cana in Feb. I've often seen ics and videos of the Mexico location and thought it "looked" nicer. But your video confirms I made the right choice. Thank you!

Wow!!! We booked already for majestic punta cana this year but would really like to change things up for next year and try Mexico. I was absolutely sold on the cancun property until you showed us the pool. WOW what a huge disappointment. That’s the only thing that would hold me back from booking.
Your amazing review helped us decide which location to go to: ME Punta Cana. We definitely prefer the immersive tropical experience. Counting down to our trip.
I did a week at Majestic Costa Mujares and I have to say I was not impressed. They downgraded our room for starters which is a big negative we were "compensated" with a 20 min massage in the spa. Then I got quite bad food poisoning, I admit this can happen anywhere and maybe it was just bad luck but I tried to put that one down to just one of those things. Finally I thought the rooms were pretty tired and given the hotel is not that old it was quite a shock to see the rooms that worn, to me it looked 5+ years old. The food was ok, the drinks were average, but it just lacked anything special. Its just another conveyor belt all inclusive with nothing to make it anything special and yes the pools are pretty poor I agree!!
@@blessedforever1424 There are good points too, the food in the mar house is good, especially lunch. I did not rate breakfast at all and saw a lot of cross contamination going on especially on the grill. The beach is good to very good. The bistro is also not bad at all, but we did find the food everywhere else pretty average to poor. For $4000 for the week we thought it was just over priced and we lost 2 nights in our roof top because they made up some excuses about a fault with the room. They have a lot of facilities and things like room service included was great, but then they let it down by the quality of the room service food was very bad. They could easily make this place a lot better without actually doing much work, just improve a few things. I would go back but max I would pay is $2500 for a week. I have heard good things about Alelier in CM which is pretty much next door to MCM.
We stayed at Majestic Elegence playa Mujeres last June and I was a bit disappointed in the food quality. Especially the sushi restaurant which had premade sushi. Did not taste good! The only restaurant that really stood out to us as being good quality was the Italian restaurant and we ate there pretty much every day after trying a couple of the others. we did enjoy the luxurious rooms and had upgraded to a swim out which was great for the first three days because it was a little rainy and pretty much had the whole pool to ourselves. Then the weekend came and the masses descended and it was not nice at all having a ton of strangers partying very loudly in the pool right outside our patio door! Will definitely rethink having a swim out in the future We will be trying out the new Secrets Moxche Impressions Playa del Carmen this year! Looks amazing!
Forget the hotels… I would just choose Cancun over any other destination in the Caribbean period. There’s so much supply of fun there is impossible to experience all in one trip. That’s why millions keep coming!
Great review. Stayed at the cancun majestic last year, unfortunately the food I thought was pretty bad, minus their lunch taco buffet! Also the pools comments were SPOT on.
Excellent breakdown, James! 🙂 With me personally, experience is the most important quotient so I'm inclined to feel Punta Cana is the one I need to try first. Because like you said, you're not going to go wrong with dining and drinks at either location, the beaches at both are lackluster as are, and you're still getting a respectable amount of luxury in Punta Cana. But yeah: either way you're winning. 😊
We just stayed at MEPC. In my opinion, everything was nice except the quality of the specialty restaurants which was not really that good. The buffet on the other hand was very good. The staff was awesome and the property itself is laid out well and very nice.
Hi James, quick question. We are going to Costa Mujeres in two weeks and I saw that most restaurants have a dress code. What do they mean? Are jeans ok? Do i need like dress pants or something?
Thank you for this comparison. I was hoping that they would be the same but, nope! I haven't been able to find another "plunge pool" that matches majestic in cancun anywhere!
What resort should I choose for my honeymoon. We want good food, good drinks, good pools, good beach and some partying and entertainment.... Secrets PC, Breathless PC, Iberostar Grand, Majestic Elegance PC or Melia PC?

We booked the punta cana hotel purely based on your food review a few months back and we’re shocked at the appalling quality between the pictures you showed on your video compared to what was offered to us .The only restaurant worth any mention is the French which offer decent food and service and we ended up eating here for the remainder of our ten night stay having walked out of every other apart from an average meal at the steak restaurant.
We also just came back and the food was indeed mediocre and the waiting at a couple of the restaurants was over two hours and by the time the entrées arrived they were cold! However the grounds are outstanding!
The food was excellent at the French and Italian restaurants. Two of the best meals I ever had at an all inclusive resort. The lunch buffet at the beach was very good too. I would not return to the resort for several other reasons though.

@@CoolistRiu Macao is a couples resort. After 10 pm, everyone goes to their room and puts the do not disturb sign. Red light district. There's hookers roaming after dark also but I assume you ain't into that. The food is really good. Beach is meh at best. There is 2 pools. 1 swim up bar. Less than 360 rooms.

Bro you have to be a paid promotor and and ME Punta Cana and the rooms are pretty old and rusty, food sucks and the beach is not a good one. Only good thing here are drinks and bars. This place compared with resorts at Mexico is not even a 4⭐️
