Majohn T5 Green fountain pen review.
The Majohn T5 fountain pen is a an affordable Chinese piston filler fountain pen.
This fountain pen has been very reliable for me and it holds a decent quantity of ink, however it appears that at least this nib does not write well on Rhodia paper!

I like that wider sections, ink windows, and piston fillers are becoming more common. It's a handsome pen.

Diamine Elf on Oxford Optik … no issues, in fact, a delight! Lovely pen, in Purple, Medium nib.

I just tried my T5 on a Rhodia pad. Ït wrote well w/o hard starts or skips. Fine nib, Parker Blue Black.

I concur. The T5 is a great pen. I will have to use it on Rhodia paper to see if I have the same problem.

I'm quite attracted to this model (though I'd probably get the P136 first). Glad to hear it's a good everyday pen (normally)

Hi Rob! Quite emblematic what you have shown, especially if it is the Rhodia paper. I know the nibs of the Moonman and in fact what happened is not good: the nib would have to be analyzed under a 40X magnification. Very interesting review. Best wishes!

As a neat hack, the piston unit can be replaced with one from a TWSBI Eco. Mine came with a piston so tight, it broke when I tried to use it. I had an Eco with s broken nib and noticed the piston was a similar size. After a quick swap, it saw that the Eco's piston unit, while tight, fit.

Hi Rob. I had a feeling this review would go 'pear-shaped'. My experience with Moonman (I don't think I have a Majohn) is one of huge disappointment. The nibs are too dry for me and prone to the problems you experienced here. I love the design and looks of the T5 but I wouldn't buy one. Having said that, I suppose if you avoid Rhodia paper you should be alright.
