After flying around the world enough distance to go to the moon and back, I am finally making a tier list of all the best airlines in the world! Which one is your favorite? What airline did I miss? Let me know in the comment section!

Hi Young! Thank you so much for making this video. You're a very attention-to-details person. Just look at all the metro/subway cards you have in the background. You flew AA alone more than all airlines I flew combined! I def value your opinion a lot. Your channel should get more subs and views!

Alaska Airline’s frequent flyer program is so good. My family was able to get a free round trip flight from Spokane to San Francisco just from their miles.

Regarding Alaska’s comfort: they don’t have lie-flat seats because they don’t have any transatlantic or transpacific flights. I guess you COULD make an argument for transcontinental flights needing that, but the only transcontinental flights from Seattle with lie-flat seats are on JetBlue (yes, Delta stopped offering Delta One on SEA-ATL and SEA-JFK), while LAX and SFO aren’t as major hubs for them, meaning they can let AA pick up the slack for long-haul services.

but LAX and SFO should be a focus. they took over Virgin just to give up their strong presense in California is so sad. And they are launching many flights that clocks at 6 hours to GUA, NAS, and JFK-ANC, they should at least offer something more substantial than what is identical to a 2 hour flight in their best cabin.

Given the fact it has been 5 years since it was supposed to open, and it is still not clear if it will ever open, yeah, AUH is bad. No matter how good Midfield is, 5 years late and billions of dollars lost makes it the BER of middle east.

You know, Turkish Airlines is much better than how the internet describes. I remember my dentist telling me a story about his excellent experience transferring directly to a Turkish Airlines flight after a really long delay, followed by cancellation, of a United Airlines flight all because of a simple brake problem. All this positivity towards this airline then leads to a biased question to Skytrax. "Why is this not a 5-star airline?" Btw I left a sub. Been enjoying more of your content lately!

thank you for subbing! Turkish is not 5 star because Skytrax is kinda like a bribery. So you can see Hainan getting a 5 star when it definitely does not deserve that. you "donate" some money to their organization and you can become 5 star too!

PAL is awesome with good service and insanely good prices. some planes are old but the new ones are phenomenal. but, and it is a huge BUT, Manila airport may be the worst nightmare in the aviation world and I will not even dare to touch it with a 18 foot pole😭

Alaska DOES have a rather limited network (they don’t fly outside of North America), but they’re more than willing to partner with any airline who will fly intercontinental flights to their hubs on the west coast (especially SEA), so long as said carrier doesn’t compete with their domestic market at SEA. And AA (one of their closest partners) is looking to make SEA into an international gateway.

AA has given up on the SEA hub. Alaska does keep adding more airlines constantly, so it is getting slightly more useful throughout the years

AA is a headless fly. tried and giving up SEA hub, and AUS hub. and Northeast alliance got shut down, truly directionless.

I have found Qantas being the cheapest multiple times during my searches. I have got a few Asia-NZ tickets with them for 300 dollars, while JAL and Korean almost never shows as cheapest unless it is a fare on Delta or American with joint venture metal neutrality. They never file cheap fares themselves. Qantas is quite pricey domestically I do give them that. Anyways, thanks for watching! 😊

Qantas basically does not do Europe. North america it is also generally competitive with other direct services. Meanwhile you will find JAL or Korean not competitive in nearly all routes in price.

@@beyounged True, I know Hawaiian Air generally had better prices. But I wanted to fly Quantas from even the west coast in 2020 and it was atleast 1-1.2K no matter what.

More airlines that you should try if you have the chance: Garuda Indonesia, Condor, Austrian Airlines, Virgin, Oman Air

I have tried Austrian short haul and Condor actually. In fact, I have just flown a Condor long haul business class and I am quite impressed, review should come out in the next decade or so on the channel 😂 but Garuda and Oman both have a small footprint and I wanna try them both soon. Virgin as for Virgin Atlantic? they are so expensive I am not sure when I can get to fly with them haha

You summoned the philippines on cathay pacific part but you miss to include Philippine airlines. Most of the review I watch here in youtube said it was a underrated airline. What do you think?

Their business class to North America is insanely good value, cheapest price but great A350 cabins, would love to try it soon!

why did you put air canada a c but some of it is good route network and when you say that some of the airlines with really old aircrafts air canada is not one of them the ones with old aircrafts fleet size and service is a little bit better than ac

Cathay Pacific- You were right. The lounge in Hong Kong is incredible! The food is also good onboard. However, the route network is not as good as earlier. Mainly because Hong Kong opened up late after COVID which affected the airline. Emirates- Hey you can't just hate it just because of the Business class in 777? The business class in the A380 is fairly better with a 1-2-1 configuration. Emirates has the best IFE that is weekly updated. It is also one of the biggest screens in the sky. Amazing Food and selected food for children. Family photos special toys, magazines, colors, collectibles, and this all in economy. The Q-suite business class in QR is definitely the best but you won't find it on every plane. The first class on Emirates is an otherworldly experience. The onboard bar is bigger than QR and has the biggest collection of beverages in the sky. The onboard shower is also notable. The cabin in Emirates is colourful but Qatar's dark maroon makes it a little dark. Emirates cabin has stars that illuminate the ceiling.

Cathay Pacific is currently very limited with capacity and hopefully it will get better. On Emirates I think A380 is good, but not the best in the sky, and not that close. Sure the bar is great but the seat is quite outdated. Service is good but not personable, and the screen is not the biggest in the sky. In fact, I have an airline that beats it in every aspect coming up this weekend, stay tuned for the review. also it is just unacceptable to have 1 airline with one business class product far superior to the other. On some of their longest routes, such as to EZE, they only fly the 777, it is objectively horrendous to pay 6000 dollars and get stuck in a middle seat. And on some other routes it changes frequently, do you want to play russian roulette with your 8 hour business class experience? I don't think so.

What airlines are missing here? How about JetBlue? What tier would you rank WestJet in Canada? I guess it may not higher than C since you ranked Air Canada C.....

quite a lot of candidates did not make it due to time, maybe part 2 is due? Westjet is slightly better than Air Canada in my opinion, but definitely not gonna go to B due to limited routes and bad frequent flyer program.

I think you were a bit nasty to Thai. Some of the best food I've had (and not just the best food I've had on a plane) was on Thai in economy class. (I do remember them saying something about a special menu for the Queen's birthday though). Admittedly the chicken sausage they have with their breakfast is probably one of the worst things I've been given on a plane to eat. But I would pick Thai (in economy) over BA (in economy) every day of the week, even with the chicken sausage. Do I think they're an A tier airline - probably not, but I think C is a bit low.

You are correct. I flew Thai long haul for the first time recently and was not disappointed. They are...okay, pretty much on par with the rest of the B tier airlines, but it is still more expensive than most other airlines for some reason, so I can bump it to the tail end of B if I refresh this tier list, but honestly it is not crazy good.

@@beyounged It depends very much where you're flying from. i.e. For London, EVA and Thai are now the only direct flights from Heathrow, so for a start, they can charge more just because the flight will be that much faster. But there's also the fact that the UK's air passenger duty goes up with the length of flight, so it's lower tax to have a stop, as then the tax is based on where the stop is. Also, now that Thai has stopped flying A380s, the London flights no longer have as many seats as they used to - so again, they can charge more for the seats they have. From Hong Kong, they look expensive, but that's because you have Emirates and Ethiopian both with stopovers in Bangkok, and selling pretty cheap Hong Kong to Bangkok flights because they fill their economy section on the planes that stop in Bangkok, in Bangkok - as Emirates at least, has direct flights from Hong Kong to Dubai, so people going further pick that flight (unless they didn't bother to check their booking very carefully). And finally - apparently last year, Thai had the highest profit margins of any major airline in the world.

yeah Thailand has surprisingly little competition for its size, so they can rest easy and charge more. No direct flight from US is a huge issue/benefit at the same time. Also it is just super popular. still I rarely fly them because they are too expensive, that takes a toll on my charts.
