My dad was a Coldstream guardsman, 16 years man and 2 boy - he gave it all up because my mother cocked up. Instead of enjoying 22 years service with a pension and handout he stepped into a corn dryer with no PE kit, it did not exist. At 70 he died frrom farmers lung
This issue is because of the SA80 magazine, when the rank closes up too much, they finish up hitting the magazine of the bloke next to them with their arm. They need to maintain proper spacing. I can see a lot of them struggling here. In the old days you could march shoulder to shoulder with the SLR no worries.
