Unfortunately, I think we all have a personal layoff story. When it happened to me, I essentially trained my replacement for two months and didn't even know it. They paid him less than half what they were paying me. He quit after only a few months because he couldn't handle the pressure on his own.

But looking at gaming it looks like they screwed up.

@@ivanramos1809 I give you that what they should have done was cancel the games in development and consolidated the workers to other companies to work on big titles and help with development on games slated for 24/25 & Games as service

When the projects are over people are out of work. It happens in the entertainment business all the time. Even athletes don’t get paid during the offseason

Its all about that same energy. Its shock horror when Microsoft do it even though they have an explanation like sonys was but when it comes to sony those same ponies be shilling and making it seem like all is well. As I said energy.

@@Looptroop98 that was planned lay offs across the board, restructuring of the whole of Microsoft about 230,000 employees after covid (people were at home and videogames and movie sales were on a major rise. We now see them numbers stagnating people able to go out and about. Did Microsoft shutter any companies during then and now? Nope. Did they cancel several games? Nope (as far as planned) they delayed some games but never really cancelled them. You should be shocked, why? Cause sonys hardware sales were on the up and up (3 to 1 compared to xbox) and people made a big deal (overexageration mostly). But Sony forecasts, even if they are selling the best they can there shareholders are still unable they didnt meet the quota... by the way Sony never did this before the ps5, they missed a quota but didn't go full panic mode ($10 billion in shares just gone overnight). They also have this $7.9 billion lawsuit against them right now and sonys acquisition budget was about 8 billion, yet they overspent on spiderman 2, they floundered and flaunted money too lock 3rd party too there ps5 and now there going "ah well we need to budget better bye bye people, bye bye gamers, bye bye" Even the president of sie didn't even care and had Jim Ryan apologise. Cowards and greedy ones at that.

@@Gh05tm4ch1n3 the lawsuits don’t concern me but what is concerning is that over 10,000 people lost there job during Christmas holiday Again the lawsuits don’t have anything to do with me Also instead of cancel they put it on an ice delay why haven’t we seen perfect dark or fable 3 I under your gonna talk about factions 2 but it’s more games that have had way longer to cook and still haven’t released star citizen just released after yrs of development and charity funding
