You can still change the shower !!, frame it out and go from there... make it your way , now is the time !! You never let anything else get in your way so make it happen.. just do it !! You could also end the tile at the height of the window (top of the window), as a money saver. But go for what you aesthetically want!

@lisaadams…lol! I don’t know about storage with all the moisture, but I see where you’re going with the thought process. Laura Lee if she hasn’t bought all of the tile for the shower which (knowing McCenna, she has) then to frame it out again would be cost effective, but to imagine how grand that shower will be is thrilling!

The house is really coming together! Thank you for doing the walk through after the sheetrock was hung, it was so much easier to understand where everything is and the layout and everything. I was so excited to see everything!! I think the kitchen will be fun to see, but I'm also looking forward to the living room and the fire place, to see how that all turns out!

It’s really coming together now!! When I saw the Sheetrock getting hung I found myself smiling lol. It’s not even my house and I’m fully invested haha! Cannot wait to see even more. This is a house that if I came and did some work on it I would want to come back and see how the designer finished the house just because you can tell even from a tradesmen point of view that this is a custom home. Seeing how much detail, thought, intention, doing and redoing, learning and growing of skills and more that has gone into this house is just so special. Looks amazing! Love watching this house become a home. Definitely can never sell this labor of love. I have a baby girl and I pray she's creative, strong and capable like you! Also the little turquoise wood detail that got covered by the fireplace, would have been cute to paint black and use for something. Maybe a metal plate that say "comfort cottage est. Date" or the house number or something. Not sure if you can still access it or not. Anyway, love this transformation and all the details!

Wow! I have grown up in old homes my entire life, my mother is a preservation consultant. I am used to seeing people too out all of this “old stuff” and “update” it so it looks like any old home. This is one of the most wonderful examples of how you can take a historic home and while still appreciating its history, allow it to evolve into what it needs to be for this day and age. Homes can speak to you if you listen and she is a freaking house whisperer. I’m so stoked to see the next steps.

I feel like that space is the one that has been romanticized and anticipated more than any other! I am absolutely loving the progress on your beautiful cottage. The sheetrock really helps when envisioning the space. Regarding the shower in the master, you addressed you wish you had dropped the ceiling to help with warming the space, what about adding heat lights in the shower? It will definitely help to warm you up after using the shower.

I actually shed a little tear when I saw the sheet rock up! I can't wait to see the hallway! And I'm excited about the fireplace! And the stove in between the two windows... And then the main bedroom quarters! Love the skinny little window! I've hung doors before too and know what a pain in the butt they are! I kinda wish you wanted to paint the double doors in the bedroom. I can see them looking so good dark blue/navy, especially with the knobs you are using. Can't wait to see it all happen. I literally have been dying to see the sheetrock up! Seeing everything come to life and being able to actually visualize the rooms, is everything!! I live in the Lake Travis area and have been telling my hubby we need to take a hill country drive, just so I can try to see it in person, even if it’s just from our cars! I know without a doubt everything is going to perfection and I’m certainly dying to see the kitchen come to life fully, but that butlers pantry and the bathrooms, are definitely at the top of my list!

MaCenna...I started following you when you started this journey. I love this home. I love the mix of old and new. I love your respect and reverence for the bones of the house and your preserverence in making antique and vintage items (doors, windows, bead board, shiplap,etc) work for your space.
