What change was your favorite? 2 IMPORTANT CORRECTIONS WITH UPDATE LIVE: Dapples is endlag but dualies is just between the rolls, so its diffrent qualities. Crab endlag is only shooting, not moving (when it ends)

At this point I’m convinced that they will never stop buffing Big Swig until they make everyone who ever called it bad regret it.

I think we’re seeing the start of Nintendo actually giving us good patches, can’t wait to see how they expand upon this

The Opening Gambit change is gonna be very fun (at least for a bit) when playing Blasters in Solo queue. If you play well you can get insane value from it when playing something like rapid, rapid pro, or Range Blaster.

Honestly a pleasant surprise. No more sort of kinda baby steps towards a better gameplay experience, and they are now directly addressing the issues in ways that make sense (for the most part). I'm not sure if crab will stop appearing at top level, but I highly doubt splash will stay in its own tier above everything else. Some weapons got ignored which is kind of sad, but at this point I expect them to never remember brellas exist

My favorite part of the patch is where they buffed brellas so much that a single pixel of ink will 1-shot someone

My favorite part aside from crab, is hammer finally getting some help. I'm one of six people total that main L3 D. So hopefully this helps a lot. I do think the burst ink nerf hurts all other burst weapons more than they hurt splash tho

I said this on anther video, but I can't stress enough how hype our team is about this patch! None of us really like or use crab weapons, so now we might actually have a fighting chance against double crab teams. I'm personally really happy about opening gambit (I'm a true opening gambit believer), and our rapid deco player is super hype about the Inkjet buff!

These devs actually hate brella gahdamn

I cannot wait to see how this patch affects the metagame, it could make top level tournaments so much more fun and diverse for both the players and the viewers!

Im just happy they looked at Snipewriter. It has so much it needs buffed but its not immediately thrown away like brellas. Im still praying for octobrush to have inkres when rolling like inkbrush.

Glad to see they got the first team that did patch notes back. We had clear, concise patch notes that tell us what got nerfed and why. This is in contrast to the past set of patch notes where we didn’t know what they were talking about. Also, they’re taking drastic steps to balance the game, buffing most classes, the only shooter to be buffed was Nova, which actually needed it. The specials are way more balanced as well. The only way to improve this patch, though, is to buff Brellas and nerf Splash.

The crab changes seem kinda perfect. They are keeping the power of the special so its still fun to use but if you attack the crab and force it to ball or break it as the other team you are then rewared for putting pressure on the special. Hopefully they can address kraken in a similar way.

I think with more people running Sub Resistance, it's going to make Squid Roll a bit stronger (with Sub Resistance stopping bomb from breaking the armor) especially if the Sub Resistance buff allows one or two subs to take < 30 dmg for Burst bomb strong indirect.. that'll be nice for survivability imo

Crab Tank is getting an actual nerf let's GOOOOOOO

Sad that my love, the Undercover Brella, didn't get buffed, but I still managed to go 3-4 with it in Splat Zones X Battles (double Undercover on our team for two of those battles, both of which we won), so I think I'll be okay just with the Reefslider buff for now, but I _desperately_ want Brella buffs and new kits

I think the Splat Dualies buff is just faster rolls and not less end lag as it says increased dodge roll movement speed

Some great changes! Im liking the inkjet buff, makes it better at killing and more maneuverable after the speed nerf it got going into the game. Hope we get it on Splat Dualies again! For next patch im hoping mainly for brella fixes/buffs, larger special point balancing, and maybe a smallish missile nerf

Stamp buffs are going to feel great to play around with. More turning and being able to see opponents through the stamp is going to be great for making sure people can't sneak past you as easily. This'll be great for fighting up close

2:40 the change to splat dualies isn’t changing the end lag, rather it’s making the roll itself 0.06s faster Edit he fixed in a comment

Hearing Sonic: After the Sequel music these past few videos has been a treat. So good We Wiper mains are eating good. I look forward to seeing how the Hammer handles now.

I feel like this patch is really the combination of previous patches all coming together to be more effective. The indirect nerfs on crab by having other specials do more object damage to it is now combined with an outright buff for stamp and ink jet. This could end up being pretty significant. Still waiting on a toxic mist buff tho,😢.

Here's a buff for Opening Gambit - When its effect ends, it basically becomes *Ability Doubler* in order to compensate for effectively losing a main ability for the rest of the match. Would still be down by 1 AP, but better than nothing.

Regular mini splatling getting both a main weapon and a special weapon buff feels so good. Burst Bomb on mini is already great (yes that got nerfed but idc) and now stamp might actually do something for this weapon. Cant wait to try it

with the inkjet getting some good buffs, i better see the enperry dualies return in all its glory the next season

Kraken should’ve kept the squid roll and make it part of the move set, but doing that move reduces that “damage” wave down by half or whatever the damage is when you jump.

Your patch videos are the greatest, while I love everybody elses yours are the most entertaining as they provide gameplay and commentary for every note.

About the injet buff at 7:39, I went back and rewatched the new song reveal for the squid sisters splatfest and it actually looks like they're playing with that buff and no one noticed lol

This really be a nice balance update compared to the previous ones, kinda makes me hope they look to changing some aspects of stages again. I mean good changes though.

I’m kinda sad we got no Brella buffs or the points for special being decreased, but I hope it will happen or get a good kit in the next major update

It's likely the reason they didn't do significant rebalance of the special at the season change was because of the addition of two new ones. They waited a month for data on how these new specials played before doing the special balance. Same as for why they waited 4 patches to do the rebalance itself.

I had this in the background while -playing- losing and then I hear Move Me from Ridge Racer like WHAT THE HELLLLLL. That was a trip.

I love how stamp has a bug that hinders it, but kraken and crab have bugs that help it 😂 as if they needed the unintended buff

Glad to see special balance getting some attention. ProChara, me and my friends play a bit more casually and we are wondering what type of weapons and play styles make for a good team. We were thinking two shooters, one short range (roller or slosher) and a long range (sniper or splatling). From your competitive experience, what would you say is a good team combination?

A buff for brellas that I don't think would be to broken is when your should gets broken you get a damage buff specifically on undercover

opening gambit is tons of fun to use now with nova. since it works with assists, you can basically rain point sensors and wails on the enemy team for a huge boost to the time. its my new favorite way to play nova already.

It's totally unrelated, but the music choices in your videos are soundtracks I listen to on a daily basis hearing Sonic ats ost got my pumped now

I think linemarker should be able to penetrate armor (things like bubble crab booya etc). This would make it more special and maybe make it more usefull, idk I'm not a comp player nor do I really use the sub

The brella buff that was definitely there was my favorite change

Post patch I have found myself having a much harder time dodging both reefslider and ultra stamp and I've also been able to use them much more effectively than before, especially reefslider cause most people don't get out of the way fast enough

This is a great set of patch notes, it does things that the community wants (minus brella no buffs)

My guess is that the brella class is taking them longer than expected to fix it's functionality bugs, which is why they're holding out on updating them. #wishfulthinking #copium

6:56 it says that the area of the 70 damage hit was increased, not the one-shot area

My one disappointment with this patch is that I feel like it didnt quite do enough for the weak specials. I wont make too harsh judgements yet but I don't think it fixed the core issues of inkjet, inc vac, tacticooler, or reefslider. I'll be interested to see how much this changes stamp though, because a lot of stamp weapons have strong kits if stamp is good

Im glad that Reefslider is getting buffed, and that kraken’s objective hogging was nerfed rather than the special itself. (Kraken Royale is just really fun!!!)

I remember the ink on the angle shooter miniscule seeing the new size confuses me

for the splat dualies, the change is that the dodge rolls are 4 frames faster, not that it has 4 less frames of end lag

Haven’t seen anyone mention this, but I believe the kraken nerf said that everyone will drop their clams when kraken is activated, it’s trying to help with jump cheesing in clams

I already main Dapple Dualies. So ngl, I'm kinda hyped. Also I think I'm addicted to them, they're so fun to use

As someone who plays a lot of pencil, this buff is really cool! It can combo With its teammates now (though 70 damage would've been better.) It still needs a lot however. I can see theyre trying to go for a supportive playstyle, but it cant defend itself at all, or get away from fights easily, so it really cant do that. I think that they either need to make it more aggressive or more defensive, and theres a good option for either way. For defensive, i would increasy its strafe speed while charged by a lot (think splatana or splooshomatic) since as it cant go into squid form without losing its charges, so it basically a sitting duck. For an agressive playstyle, i would give it a big swig level object damage buff, if it could say, three shot crab (so you have enough shots to kill after), it would add a lot of value to the weapon. Then after that, there is a few overall buffs to the weapon. Firstly i think its charge speed should be ever so slightly faster, secondly, i think that as a consolation lrize for losing your charges when using a sub weapon, it should charge even faster after using a sub weapon, and finally, it would be cool if it did extra knockback to kraken. After all that, i still think it needs a new kit too. If i could choose my perfect kit for it, it would be burst bomb and super chump, although the burst bomb could be replaced with ink mine for defensive capability and not having to cancel your charges by throwing a sub weapon.

The Crab Tank change: it only specifies that the user will get more endlag when the special "ends". However, the patch notes don't specify if that'll also be the case for breaking the crab tank. (Though I hope it does.)

This may be one of the best patches ever, I hope the make sprinkler a real sub weapon though, a stationary ink turret sounds really cool but actually getting it on your kit is like having no sub weapon sadly

yknow what i would add to opening gambit to make it good? make it so the active timer stops counting down as long as your team is in control of objective, meaning avoiding gambit users will only give them the ability to act with impunity and keep in control of objective while being able to enjoy its effect WAY longer, forcing engagement, instead of just running away

I think a change that could make crab far more interesting to fight is to restrict how far up or down the special could shoot the rapid fire mode. that way you could keep most of it's long range strengh, but also make positioning the crab more important for what you are trying to accomplish in a fight.

Very glad to see progress being made. It’s a shame though bt brellas still just don’t function right.

Ultra stamp is one of my favourite specials so it's great it got some buffs The main weapon buffs are great too

And yet, Brellas were not touched ONE BIT. The most I got in terms of a buff is Reefslider's buffs helping Undercover Brella, and my other main, Stamper, got _nerfed_ - though I never really got into the habit of using Bursts so I should be fine though jesus christ can I please have a different Stamper kit this special is skill issue incarnate aughhh

as a dynamo main waiting for a less passive kit the tacticooler buff makes me happy

Wow, so much of the things I enjoy in this game got buffed! And I'm glad sub Defense got buffed as well. I'm really hoping to see it get some more use.

I play stamper but I still do like the burst nerfs. It makes it less annoying to do stuff against and hey anything to make splash slightly less annoying!

With the lack of Brella support, I think we should just use Brellas during the upcoming splatfest and during ranked battles just so that Nintendo can see the problem with them.

Glad they made an attempt to fix marker, even if said buff wasn't really what it needed and really doesn't do much for it in my opinion, really glad that the mini got a buff as well as stamp finally and interesting to see them trying to make opening gambit something worth using. Overall, nothing I'd really complain about regarding the update and while there are a few nitpicks regarding the actual effectiveness of some of the buffs, that's about all I could say about it.

I still think double splash will thing. However, I think there will be an increase of displacement specials like triple inkstrike and maybe Killer wail 5.1 to deal with crab tank. These specials are not good at killing crab, but they very good at making it go into its ball form. I think there will be an increase of Z+F Charger for its range and combo with triple inkstrike, Splash Neo for its out put, and maybe 52 for countering splash and crab. Regardless the new meta will most likely be forcing crab into its ball form no matter what.

I'm overall relatively happy with this patch, but I'm still kinda surprised that they didn't touch super chump considering how widely it's considered weak.

The fact that they hit .96 special a third of the way through the season of its introduction and still haven’t hit Splash despite being in the game since launch is just hilarious

Tacticooler buff actually sounds like it could be annoying if I'm trying NOT to get it as a stealth weapon like inkbrush

next season's in June? that's a rather long wait. i hope the Brellas get the buffs they needed and i hope the Stringers and Splatanas get more attention (there's still just two for both classes; we need more!).

I'm fucking terrified of the increase in gear dependency. I don't have the patience to grind like that, and if it does end up affecting solo queue(I have grown to detest turf war), I think I'm just dead.

I think there finally at the point where they know exactly what to fix so they dont have to make as small bluffs or nerfs
