In the witcher 2 there are many decisions that can affect the witcher 3. In today's video I discuss some of the major witcher 2 decisions that can affect the witcher 3. These include decisions such as those involving Sile, Letho, Roche, Iorveth and Aryan.

I think one of my favourite thing is in Witcher 1 where if you get aerondight in Witcher 1 but you don't have it or lose it by the 3rd game in the Blood and Wine DLC, the Lady of the Lake in the quest where you get the sword again will have a comment saying something like, Don't lose the sword again.

It'd be fantastic if CDPR made remasters of the Witcher 1 & 2 in the Witcher 3 engine. Cyberpunk didn't really turn out like people had thought, so I think it has a decent chance of being possible..

Witcher 2 on latest hardware on ultra settings wont even give you more than 20 fps. So witcher 2 dont really need a remaster. Witcher 1 actually needs a remake/remaster

It’s pretty disappointing how little your choices really mean from 2 to 3. Save Sheala? Well she’s on her deathbed and gets a tiny reunion with Yen before she snuffs it. Side with Iorveth? Well he doesn’t show up at all and Roach still acts buddy buddy with you. Which can be extremely baffling as if you saved Triss, he’s pissed at you, yet it means nothing in the 3rd. Hensult lives? Well he gets the most abrupt laughable ending where his gets overthrown by a few skirmishes. The seasoned veteran with the respect of his men goes out like that. Save Triss? Well Radavid is still crazy… because?

@Minicrom + Vergen is captured by Nilfgardians no matter what outcome the battle in W2 had. Nilfgaard cross Pontar in East (Aedirn / Kaedwen) border and is few weeks march from Kaer Morhen.

Yeah, but I can imagine the implementation would’ve been more difficult. I’ve a few ideas though. Save Sile? Give her her own quest like Letho, where we save her from Witch Hunters or something and she helps us at Kaer Morhen, before he parting like Letho, Kiera, and the other non-essentials. Side with Iorverh? He takes the place of Roche. Be a bit harder to justify, Iorveth standing in for Roche when we first meet Radovid, but since it was an informer, I think they could make the scene more tense. Iorveth would also take Roche’s place in the assassination of Radovid, motivations for working with the Iorveth being a free kingdom for non-humans in the north, separate from Francesca’s domain in the south. Bit clunky, but anything can work with enough polish. What about Henselt? I think either ending should’ve assumed he failed at Vergen. Assume that either Roche killed him or he was defeated by the Iorveth and company. Being killed by Roche allows Radovid to swoop in and take over a newly leaderless territory. As for Iorveth’s arc, Henselt would struggle to coordinate a response to the rapid advance of Nilfgaard, being so humiliated as he was. Iorveth version is, again, a bit weak, but they could make it work. Considering, however, how awesome The Witcher 3 turned out, I’m not going to get all turned around that these ideas weren’t implemented. There’s only so much time you can put in and I’m still very pleased with everything, regardless.

@@JingleJangle256 yeah I get it. It just feels kinda weird. It feels like we want from season 1 of Game of Thrones to season 7. Where only Redania and kinda sorta Tamaria matters. Which kinda sucks because at the least CDPR could have used that Nilfguard at Tamaria’s captured capital to give a more larger aspect of the war. Such as; different levels of how screwed Aedirn is, the smaller kingdoms west of Tanaria could be in a brutal slog in the mountains, while the smaller but rich kingdoms in the north such as Kovir could be placing bets on either side to curry favours. It just seems so weird that at the end the only outcomes for the North are either Nilfguard or Redania takes over the North. No other variation. Which can be pretty annoying for people who went the Iorveth route in W2. Or who’s even alive to sit on the Tanaria throne isn’t even mentioned. I wouldn’t have minded if it was a massive paid dlc like the 2 we got in the W3.

The fact that so few choices from the previous games have any sort of impact on Witcher 2 and 3 is one of the very few things I dislike about the franchise. Otherwise, I love all the games and the books.

If you side with Iorveth in Witcher 2, the guard in front of the storehouse in the quest Of Swords and Dumplings will let you in without a bribe or an Axii check. Otherwise, great vid!

That tattoo is the worst thing about playing on console for me, I always did that on my Witcher 2 saves and couldn’t bring it over. It’s something so minor but for me I just couldn’t get over it.

Have you done a video about what The Witcher 4 could be about? It'll probably be a prequel as that would be easiest from a storytelling perspective since they have source material and don't have to mess with the previous games.

One thing I noticed today, with an imported save where I went with Iorveth in the witcher 2, When you and Zoltan are throwing the bums out of Dandelions tavern in Novigrad, Gerald says "just like vergen" Not surevif he does this if you go with Roche

I love how the only thing that makes importing from TW2 to TW3 unique is the fact that the only way for you to have the tattoo is to import. Every major choice that impacts TW3 can be selected via dialogue options with the scribe. On one hand, I like that CDPR did this because it makes it more accessible for people that just want to play TW3. However, on the other hand, I don't like that they did this because it gives me no reason to go back and play the other games. To me, this is also pretty funny because I play a ton of the Mass Effect trilogy where you have something similar with the genesis comics (choosing the major choices) but importing your saves is the only way where you can get the full experience since the default state is terrible.

I dont think I transfered my save files properly because I didnt kill Letho and never found him but I might have just missed the place where the quest starts....

No, It's a bug. When you transfer a save from 2 to 3, Letho can glitch out, even though you spared him on witcher 2. I have the same problem as yours.

It sucks there weren't more consequences. Like Iorveth and Saskia being completely absent. That wasn't right, both should have gotten some spotlight shone on them.

For me, that was one of the biggest disappointments from TW3 is where almost nothing has made any difference in TW3 when I sided with Elves and nothing about Iorveth. Iorveth was for me such an interesting character in TW2 and I keep on siding with him everytime I do a W2 playthrough. I would have loved to see him and had to do a quest or two with him in TW3 or he actually helped you to kill Radovid or anyone important.

Great video! I would appreciate a video on the geography/mapping of the Witcher regions and input on the geography, major events, monsters, etc that are relevant to the Witcher universe history, whether it includes Geralt or not. Maybe even map Geralt's travels.

Id think the best decisions of W2 for W3 is to Geralt Side with Ioverth, Save Triss, Save Sile n Side with Letho n killing or siding with Lavalette is the only meaningless decision here

What annoyed me that Vergen is captured by Nilfgardians no matter what outcome the battle in W2 had. Nilfgaard cross Pontar in East (Aedirn / Kaedwen) border and is few weeks march from Kaer Morhen as Vesemir said in White orchard. That river in Flotsam and Lormark valley (Kaedweni camp in W2) is the same river where Oxenfurt and Velen/Redania is.

This is making me question whether my save from 2 was imported correctly, because despite having killed La Vallette and sided with the Scoiatel, Madame la Valette was present in 3, and Vernon Roche said I was “a friend.”

Want to know what decisions don't matter??? Picking Iorveth over Roche and saving the Golden Dragon . They aren't even in they game!!!! And Roche acts like you never chose a elf over him!!!!!
