Juan Becerra yeah remember the dead hands from oot? they terrified me when i was seven. i honestly think i am scared of Majora in the same way some people are terrified of clowns. i mean I've gotten over it in later years but everything about Majora still set me on edge
That's how you know Michael Jackson was that big of an artist where an enemy in a children's/young adult's Nintendo video game does his dance. Not an imitation/lookalike dance, but his actual dance.
This video came up in my recommendations and I feel like an archeologist seeing comments from over 12 years ago. It's amazing that when this video was uploaded the Nintendo Wii and PS3 were just coming out, xbox 360 was the newest thing at that time, probably this video had a "5 stars" rating back then. Time goes fast, so fast that we don't realize it, when this video was uploaded in 2006 I was 13 and now in 2023 I'm in my 30s. Finding this video in with this quality and seeing the comments from those years brought me some nostalgia from that time, I'm glad I stumbled upon this.

I think it's fair to say that Majora is the most evil character in Nintendo history. Usually the enemy wants something selfish but is willing to let someone else live to get it. Majora just wants the world to burn in nuclear fire caused by the moon crashing into the Earth.
Majora could probably rival Giygas. Giygas is just some extraterrestrial being that invades earth and basically almost wiped the entire place out, until Ness and his friends had to go back like very far into the past to where it was originally at to kill it
It's a pretty childish evil, though. After all, they're literally depicted as a kid in the tree area. During the last two phases of the fight, I think Majora really shows their ridiculous, petty colors. It gives me the impression of an arrogant, spoiled brat getting angry that their power is being taken away from them.
I always loved the dialogue before going up to the moon. It's like the Giants are just watching them ramble on, thinking "Uh, guys, we're happy you're reunited and all, but time's a factor..."
ultimata I disagree. I don't see many parallels with the various circles nor what they represent. There isn't really the element of going deeper and becoming more distanced from God. I meant mostly the style of the game is very reminiscent of Lynch. The dynamics and corruption of the town and residents is really TP like, alongside the eery "dreamlike" nature of the game.
Man, when I was 8 playing this game, I was too stupid to get this far, and the game still creeped me out. I had a hard time facing my fears in the woodfall dungeon, but in recent years, I finally beat it. A part of me is glad that 8 year old me never saw this.
I was playing this at like 5 or 6 years old, I loved the creepy vibe but I was too stupid to get past the part where Link turned into a deku, and we finally got to go into Termina lol 😂
+Jeff Andonuts The way it dances and sings makes it more terrifying, because the fact that it screams out in pain makes me feel like I'm murdering a demonically possessed child...
I have a theory that Majora is Zelda's very own Cthulhu and/or Freddy Krueger, mostly powerless to do anything in reality but almost all-powerful in the illusion-world that is Termina. Termina is a perverse version of the world Hyrule is located in and Majora's plane of power. It can only be accessed by whoever wears Majora's Mask and whoever Majora's champion banishes to it (in this case, Skull Kid). Majora is the god of dreams, nightmares and insanity, terrifying and seemingly omnipotent, but that is just what it wants you to believe. When unpowered (like in BOTW), Majora's Mask is simply a deeply cursed mask that radiates an aura of fear and despair, making the wearer not seem human (why enemies in BOTW don't attack Link when he is wearing it). In Breath of the Wild, the mask is likely unpowered or the Golden Goddesses protect Link from its influence since they are always watching and protecting him. When powered, it places the wearer's mind in a dreaming state permanently until taken off and makes her/him slowly go insane and forces them to spread Majora's influence in the real world. When the wearer of Majora's Mask loses their usefulness to Majora, it either kills them or keeps them as a brainwashed slave until it can find a new champion. At the end of the day, Majora enjoys causing pain, both physical and psychological and can be considered a worse villain than Ganon(dorf) because of that, since it's end game would be eternal suffering for all beings in all dimensions, while Ganon just wants to rule them with an iron fist. The Moon Children are Majora's creations, children and angels. They are truly as innocent as regular children and live and grow up inside Majora's Moon (the regular Moon and the Majora-controlled one are different), which can be considered Majora's version of Heaven. As their power grows they eventually turn into Happy Mask Salesmen, which serve as Majora's agents to spread its influence across different dimensions. Majora ('s Mask) is a good concept in my opinion, and I hope in future Zelda games they will have a deeper story like the Witcher games and involve a plot or subplot about Majora.
Well, a little girl snapping her neck and Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach being straight up murdered didn't affect Super paper Mario's rating. Apparently creepy possessed demon masks don't matter either.
"Okay son! Which Zelda do you want to buy?" "Majora's mask!" "You sure? When I had it-" "I'm sure!" "Okay..." *Son starts playing game* "What the... did I get a horror game accidently?"
Majora is torturing Link all over the game, no, not only Link, he is torturing EVERYONE in this game but the only thing we got is a little bit harder boss than Ghirahim... Sweet torment.
Yes but it may be hard to notice after Majora's Wrath shows up, the screaming of a damsel in extreme pain and torture is so loud you can't think straight.
I was around nine when my siblings and I started playing this game. I have such special memories with them not only playing Majora’s Mask but other Zelda games as well. This game fucked me up. Gave me nightmares until my 20’s. BUT, I watched a let’s play of it and after getting through all the childhood fears, this is my all-time favourite game ever. Such a visually appealing and colourful game with great music and all the spooks. 💜
Wow, I can't imagine how chilling it would be to have childhood experiences playing this game at 9. The atmosphere and everything would already be super creepy to 15 year old me and older. Have you ever considered playing through the whole game yourself (assuming you haven't done it already)? Maybe it could give you a deeper experience
This is the best game ever to me, and theres no close second. The story and every aspect of the game is just mind blowing. This Zelda game is more like an Anime to me. So many side stories. The Music was incredibly different from anything I ever heard in a game. Thought provoking, scary, and Weird. This game is Art at its finest. The most UNDERRATED GAME IN HISTORY. ...
codster9 remember : this is a direct sequence to ocarina of time. right after link saves hyrule he beggins to travel alone, and he went to termina, then he stopped the moon from destroying everything
This boss should have been 10 times harder than portrayed, considering how much shit you have to do to get to that point. even Ganondorf/ Ganon was a harder final fight.
Interesting. I thought Majora was difficult. I thought Ganondorf/Ganon from Ocarina of Time was easy. It's amazing what will be hard for one person and what will be easy for another and vice versa.
I WAS SUPER YOUNG WHEN I HAD THIS GAME I NEVER PLAYED THE STORY THRU 😂 I ALWAYS JUST RAN AROUND CHANGIN MASK HAVING FUN AS I DID MOST N64 games cuz I was to young to get how they worked 😂😂😂
Finally, somebody who doesn't have twenty reinforced hearts and the Fierce Deity Mask. Thank you for breaking the mold and not making the final battle as quick and boring as everyone else does. I seriously appreciate that.
Majora is easily beaten with even 3 hearts and no defense boost. Such a lame final boss. I lost way more health to Twinmold. Apparently Twinmold is a lot different on 3DS though, which is what I played it on.

I absolutely loved this game as a mindless child who didnt know how to play it just the artstyle and the concept was awesome (atleatst for the 3ds version)
the first time me and my sisters fought the boss we were freaking out, but now we only freak out a little and we laugh a lot. i love how he be doin the moonwalk and stuff. this game was really cool
Seriously what the fuck was Nintendo thinking with this fight. A giant mask becomes a person, starts breakdancing, clucking like a chicken, pulsating, and turns its arms into whips. What?
That's the thing, they *weren't* thinking (they were but you know what I mean, right?) The insane hellish time crunch the devs went through made Majora's Mask exactly what it is
I beat this game every 3 years. I beat it last week for the third time, and this was the best yet - all masks/heart pieces and on this fight I had 1/4 of a heart left, whilst majora was going mad, and managed to just slay him. My favourite game ever :D
OMG THE INCARNATION FORM WAS SOOOOO FUNNY ! XD My sister & I always died laughing when we faced him. It was pretty scary though, and so was the Wrath form. . . . I love how you played the Oath to Order really fast ! XD *laughs* . . . I wanna give the giants a hug. ; ^ ;
@@Eidel_Rose yeah, i was thinking about playing it again, 5 years later. Also, can't believe this was 5 years ago, i remember everything so vividly. Time flies :O
The final battle in this game is so beast. This goes to show that games do not need good graphics to be a great game. They made this battle hilarious because of Majora's Incarnation. His screaming and movement make me laugh a lot. On the other hand, they also made the Majora's Wrath part so savage with the music that gives me goosebumps like hell. His laugh sounds like a mentally psychotic deranged man from a secret asylum. Man, I really wish I played this game back in the early 2000's but I only had Ocarina of Time, which I still play till this day. Ahhh man...you can never go wrong with the old school.
Haha I remember this fight. When the legs came out of the mask and it started dancing I was both terrified and laughing my ass off. I don't know wether I prefer Ocarina or Majora's mask really, Majora's mask seems really dark and depressing (and you have a time limit) while Ocarina is mostly bright and happy, and you can take your time and do whatever the hell you want.
Ahh this brings back memories! Like 9 or 10 years ago, every saturday and sunday morning my brother and I would get up to play this and we would listen to Herbie Hancock...ahhh those are days I'd like to relive!
This is the weirdest boss I've ever seen in a video game. Thanks Nintendo, I'm uncomfortable now. Edit: Majora's Wrath reminds me of Ricardio from Adventure Time in a weird way
I like how even when they stop the moon, the designers decided to make the sense of urgency to get rid of it even even worse with the quakes. When I first went through that, I thought the giants could have dropped it at anytime.
LOVE this game and I am running through it on my emulator right meow. It is a bit dark, but I think Twilight Princess is a darker. Both are amazing games tho.
Its 21 December 2020 A real bad year for us people! But i finally did it! After all those years! I love the N64! And i got a very cool collection, but i grew up with banjo-kazooie, all mario games and stuff like that It was not long ago, that somebody told me, he wouldnt accept my collection, as long as i did not beat ganendorf in oot and majora in this game!!! Now i did it. And i am so proud of myself! This game is really a masterpiece and after all those years still good! I played it the original way! On my beloved n64! Thank you Nintendo! I just know now, what i was missing my entire life!!!
Majora's mask is a great game and the fact that you have a time limit of three days or else you restart makes it a challenge. To me Majora's Mask was a great sidequest to Ocerina of Time.
Playing this game as an anxious kid was really tough back in the day, I remember being scared af in a lot of parts, so I had to quit and leave it for later. Chills, man.
I remember playing this when I was 7, never actually finished the game and didn't make it far. At last 10 years later I finally get to see how it ends.
