I went to Majuli a year back with my family and it was amazing.... So green and so beautiful... We lived in a cottage too and ate the local food... I live in Assam and it is one of the best places for a weekend getaway... Hope you liked it... And this video makes me want to go there yet again. 😃😃

@@KritikaGoel You honestly should visit more places in Assam. Tribal areas like Mising villages in Majuli Or Karbi and Dimasa hills, Haflong- the hill town etc. Also Digboi, the first place in Asia to have oil. Check out the oil museum there. And also, Sivsagar, the ancient capital of the Ahom kingdom. Charaideo Maidam, the holy burial sites of the ancient Assamese kings.

Hey I did recently buy a drone but the tour operator advised against me carrying it there because Arunachal is a sensitive zone. :(

Majuli is the Adobe of Neo- Vaishnav Movement in Assam initiated by Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardeva. Initially it had 65 sattras but due to constant floods only 22 sattras left. World's Smallest Island is also in River Brahmaputra in Gauhati has famous Shiv Temple Umananda Devalaya (Shiv Temple) and houses rare species of Golden Langurs ... Try to find one 💟

Sad fact - it's likely that Majauli might not exist in 20 years. Floods are rampant and the place is sinking. They need support for their economy and infrastructure. Fun facts - the masks are actually of international fame and have the name in some World Records as well. Lastly, I wish you had covered the Vaishnavita Satras in detail, they live a life of devotion and often renunciation, are invited in international festivals as several of them have awesome classical devotional song and dance performances to exhibit as well. Wonderful vlog and Thanks for covering this bit of paradise which I had the pleasure of visiting with my parents as well.
