I have Sherpa friends in Kathmandu who put me up in their home when I visit Nepal. Their father was a climber he died on the Makalu and his body was never brought down. He has been up there for around 20 years.
I think she's making a riff of of the saying " if you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life " meaning doing what you love isn't work. Or a sacrifice. But she doesn't seem to like climbing Makalu, so it all seemed like work for her in this video.
Huh. I found Arnot to be a bit of a bummer. I don't think I'd enjoy climbing with her. Her lack of planning and motivation would grate on my nerves. Does she even like climbing? Kinda a waste of money for whoever's sponsored her.
There's always a better rate of success with Sherpa support; after all they're the local expertise with Himalayan mountain knowhow inside-out...........................So while they are there, use them................
Why even post this video? There's been nothing achieved and it just seemed like both climbers lost heart and didn't even want to continue with the expedition. What a waste of money and time.
