I was a private school teacher, and this is my way going to school, then nilalakad na from school to SM Makati. Kaya di ko mapigilang mag reminisce while watching this. Thank you for a very nostalgic trip, and tama nga sila, pag may camera / videocam pa noon, bigatin ka na. :D
(I'm using Google Maps to compare, so much has changed) 1:23 there's a high rise building in there now on the right side (Discovery Primea) 1:27 onwards, oh the skyline looks so empty, now it's has a lot of buildings and such 2:00 onwards, hmmm yeah, most of the buildings in the video seems to be replaced by higher ones now 2:35 (not visible) the left side (that looks empty) is now replaced by Ayala Triangle Gardens, yes a high rise (on Ayala Triangle Park) 2:45 empty lot on the right side is also replaced by another high rise 2:50 onwards, that triangular building and the next buildings on the right side is also not in there anymore, they're now redeveloped as Park Central Towers. And looking forward, the skyline seems to have not changed at all 3:15 that white building on the centre seems to be gone now, there's less buildings on the right side, and the current buildings that you would see now in there are from the Century City, you would immediately see Trump Tower at that part (left side as video continues) 3:41 I was wrong, that white building is still in there but if you look at google maps, the appearance is different 3:59 onwards, the right side today as I write this is filled with high rises 4:19 oh wow, Jeepneys still look the same, just without the art 4:50 ok it seems like they've gone back to to Ayala Triangle Park via Makati Avenue, the statue is still in there, and the skyline looks so empty 5:25 skyline still empty and that lone building on the centre with the crane is still standing 5:31 onwards, that building being zoomed (The Landmark) still stands today, and as the video pans on the right side, there is no road in there anymore, it's now a mall (Greenbelt Mall) 6:56 onwards, on that right turn to Antonio Armaiz Avenue, the right side have several high rises and replaced buildings now 8:04 there is now a flyover in there now and a high rise on the left, that building with triangular part on it on the left (Sanvar Plaza) still stands today 8:36 onwards that empty lot is now a residential high rise building and the Makati Cinema Square isn't visible from google maps following from the flyover but it still exists today high rises everywhere
I really like to bring back the old days that there are only a few cars. And you can drive properly. Yung panahon na hindi pa uso ang mga buwisit na motorsiklo na haharang harang. 90s are the happoest moments that i really want to bring back.
This is just recommended to me now after 13 years and oh, nostalgia makati at ‘93. I was only grade 3 when we had our first shopping at glorietta. Thanks for the memories makati.
I was born in this year but the memories of the 90's for me are so vivid... I still remember the mid to late 90's Makati :) Good times... gooooood times :) Wala pang mga highways and MRT, the buildings werent too cramped, the Manila Pen's old fountain na dati parang gusto kong magswimming dun since it's near my mom's office :)
I remember makati in the 70’s too, alemars, rizal theatre, ansons, makatisupermarket,old greenbelt,,,,small jeepney fr edsa to buendia along ayala....those are my fav.time 70s and 80s ,,, by the way im only on my 50s

1993 pa pala to. Kung weekdays itong video, nasa Makati Elementary pa ako nyan, Grade 3. Yung pinag U-Turn nyo along Makati Avenue, mga 2 blocks yung layo nyan mula sa bahay namin that time sa P. Burgos Street sa Poblacion. Salamat sa video! Nostalgic talaga!
The fact that traffic was already being discussed even as far back as 93 just means this country has literally done nothing about it for nearly 3 decades.

Wow, ang daming alaala ang nabalik ng video nato. From beginning until 2:15 binabaybay namin yun araw araw pauwi. Kapag napapadaan sa Ayala Avenue talagaing mapapatingin ka sa laki ng waterfalls ng The Peninsula.
Kaya walang traffic nito dahil mga 10am-12nn ito. Kadalasan naman talaga pagdating ng mga ganitong oras, nakapasok na ang lahat. Syempre konti pa lang din naman talaga ang sasakyan noon pero nagtatraffic na rin talaga kapag rush hour, hindi lang kasing-sama gaya ngayon.
