in a split phase system (Canada), one approach is to use a X:240vac output transformer with a center tap to give an L1, L2 240v and L1 or L2 to CT, 120vac. Does this cause problems with load balance? Thanks Doug
Where did you get your transformer iron? If I understand correctly, judging by the dimensions, this transformer was used in an uninterruptible power supply before rewinding, right?
The choke will filter the high frequency voltage before going into the transformer. It reduces the no-load current. I have seen several Chinese inverter boards that use it before. So I tried, it worked fine. aliexpress.com/item/32909770919.html
How did you calculate 14 turns is enough for primary coil? As I can understand, more turns means lower idle current. If you make only 1 turn you will create a short circuit.
@@PhdHung Chokes is not to reduce no-load current. Its main purpose is to reduce sudden inrush current when the transformer is switched ON. The inductive reactant of the transformer is the main resource of impedance in a transformer. The inductive reactant is zero when the transformer is OFF. It comes to the picture when a transformer is ON. Hence when we switch ON the transformer, it takes heavy current at starting (like AC Induction Motors). This current dies once the inductive reactant of the transformer comes into the picture ( as a transformer is ON now). To protect the transformer from damage due to heavy starting current, the choke is connected in series of the transformer. The inductance of the choke is selected in such a way that it offers high impedance to heavy current, but the low path to normal current.
What should be the secondary voltage of the transformer for 48v battery? As far as I understand 7v is for 12v, 14v is for 24v so is it 28v for 48v system? :)
Hi; Is the transformer operated with a full bridge inverter? because on the secondary side the center tap of the coil is missing. many greetings from Germany AND MUCH SUCCESS.
This is nice! But I want to ask, what if you increased the number of turns of both the primary and secondary windings in the same ratio? For instance, instead of the '220 turns :14turns', you decided to make use of "440turns : 28turns"
Mujhe 2 se 3kw load chlana hai. Main ek wind turbine bna rha hun. 2ya 3 kw ke liye 12v chahiye ya 24v chahiye? battery or bina battery ke liye kon sa controller lagega???????? Please reply
Is it normal for the inductor to warm up a bit and warm up the transformer with a load of 100W? Can you work without the inductor? Can I make an inductor with a metal toroid? Thank you
inverters using iron transformers will work for a long time, have a large power, can overload without burning. However, the performance is lower than that of the inverter using a pulse transformer, it is also heavier and more expensive.
When you finished winding your transformer you should test& show the output voltage like the one you showed in, 1000w. Secondly can I know why don't you use the same original wire insulation instead your using pVC sleeve what is the reason please let me know.
@@PhdHung my brother honestly I must have watch your videos at least 200 times. May I most humble ask another question? After you do the you do the first sets of turns do you put the wax paper in between each sets of turn until you reach the set turns are you can do turns on top of turns until you reach your set turns? I am doing for 110v @ 146 turns?

@@PhdHung I like and Appreciate your work u r doing very well keep it up. A transformer having bobin size of 2×3 coiled with 10 swg and 19 swg for chagring and inverting how much output it will give kindly guide me

From your calculations I don't understand how you get the secondary current to be 160A and the wire size to be 16mm^2 kindly explain to me your secondary voltage is 14v since the because the 24v is divided into 2 to give 12v-14v
can I just use 20A transformer instead 100A for 2000W? ...because 20A is already available in the market, also can I use 10A in pair?, becuse buying 2 x 10A is cheaper than a single 20A
Hi.. I want to make 3000watts 24v 220va.. Can you help me ..? Plss send me a requirements to do so. What gauge af wire for secondary and primary..how many turns and what size oaf core do I need to use. Thank you..looking forward for your help. ?
Hi sir i have 48v 3000w toroidal transformer from my broken inverter,, i want to buy a inverter board 24v 3000w,, can i use the 48v 3000w for that 24v 3000w inverter board? Or do i need to re rewind the primary? Thank you,,
Do you want to use it at 12V or 24V? If you use at 12V, you need a single 7V transformer to 220V. If you use a 24V battery, you need a 14V to 220V transformer. Your 100A transformer is great, but it needs a little fixing on the primary winding.
