@@zacharysimpson7353 This is the first one that turned up with Google search NVHL020N090SC1 900 volts 118 Amps. About 15 x 40 x 5 mm in size, including the leads. I'm pretty sure there are also smaller SMD ones of similar rating but I didn't bother to search more.

35 watts halogen. At 12 v it's about 3 amps. How does it become 108 amps. ?

Ну включил ты параллельно транзисторы. Параметры идеально одинаково не подберешь. Один откроется раньше, ток пойдет через него, не успев открыть остальные и разделиться между ними, и этот первый открытый транзистор сгорит. Далее сгорит первый открытый из оставшихся и так далее до последнего.

Автор не знает, что двух идентичных транзисторов не бывает и нагружены они будут по разному. Нужно ставить в эмитер каждого транзистора выравнивающие резисторы по 0,22Ом 5ватт.

Or you could use this part: UF3SC065007K4S. Rated for 650V @120A and has a 7milliohm on resistance! Best part is it is the size of one on those transistors. It does cost 70 american dollars though. That might be about the same worth as the time and money spent on this project. It is a neat little project though. It may not be practical, but I quite like it. Maybe next make a gate drive circuit for this transistor in the shape of a toroid?

Nice but not excellent... No compensating resistors, no thermal shut down (even just a thermostat in series with the base)... The transistor with the lowest Vce(sat) will let all the current flow through it, and it heats up, and the vds goes even more down and it drains even more current... The other ones instead will receive less current, stay colder, higher their Vce(sat) and receive even less current... Leave it on with a 100w lamp for 10 minutes and they will blow up one after the other...

No Biasing? Just paralleling them all together? All bipolar? Won't work very long at all and peak amps has to be in ms. at most. I thought he said Mosfets. Even Mosfets need a gate and source bias to work properly. No Thanks. a giant overheating mess.

If you put transistors in parallel you need balancing resistors, otherwise it will not handle the peak current without thermal runaway

@@MrElectron Yes, but that would be like hit and trial method. Here, in this case, you are sure that high current will flow, so that's why I suggested to put in thicker wires... Moreover, thick wires can carry small & large current but thinner wires can only carry small current. So it's wise to put thicker wires here. Hope you are understanding my point.👍👍
