Setting the sleeves can be a nightmare. I think it's actually easier to do it all by hand rather than try and be 'faster' and do it with machine. I'll show it in more detail next jacket I make. 🧥🥰🧵🪡🎨

Thanks. Hand stitch, with needle and thread. Seam allowance - You can use any stitch, it's going to be covered with the silk lining. It doesn't have to look pretty, it just has to hold the layers in place. I use running stitch or whip stitch. (At 15.51 you can see all my hand stitching inside the top of the sleeve.) Stitching tweed to netting - I use running stitch. Regular fashion fabrics have a tight weave but tweed is more loosely woven. So, you can stitch the netting and tweed together with a matching color thread and your stitches sort of just settle into the jacket and aren't visible but they still hold the two layers together. I'm making a tweed jacket next week. I'll be sure to show the hand stitching in that episode. 🪡🧥

Zero in the old sizes. 6 in current sizing. If you search V7975 on Pinterest or instagram there are pics of people wearing the tweed jackets they made.

I don't know what you mean by interfacing. The front centre lining piece is tweed, the rest of the lining is silk, so those left front centre and right front centre pieces are much more bulky but that's actually a good thing. You need the extra weight of the tweed for the jacket to age well and sit properly. Once you've sewn the silk lining in, you hand finish the jacket by top stitching up the right front, around the neckline and down the left front.
