I purchased my gh5 back in 2017 and have been using it only as a photo capturing camera. Here in 2020 I am revisiting filming video and am so glad to find your channel. It is very helpful. Thanks, and keep it up!
Thanks man it's so nice video im French and I just start the filmmmaking Thanks for your 2 months free I finally succumbed to temptation of the artist add I have in every video I watch on RU-vid :p Cheers
HI Caleb i have the gh4 and the g9 but come from a camcorder background and find it difficult with exposure in video mode with these camera's if in manual mode in daylight if the light is sunny one minute and cloudy the next and with a ND filter on its hard to keep the right exposure, If you expose for the sun then it goes dark you are forever trying to get it right unless you use A or S mode and let the camera adjust it only then are you getting the right setting! Sorry for length of the comment just wondered how you do it (keep the good work up)
I use ARTLIST for my film music now for nearly two years and I am very happy about it. Best cinematic greetings from a small german filmmaker 😉 #filmmakingismypassion
Thanks for this video, it was super fun to watch! I know you mentioned you were shooting 60fps 4K 8bit. Did you use vfr to slow it down or did you slow it down in post? Any reason for one or the other?
Funny and ironic that my fav shot was 16:56... Also, without the flickering lights behind, the scene would be kinda lifeless. Small details can make a huge difference. Love the music! Anyway, i just recently purchased the GH5, I'm very excited to master it. Thanks for sharing your workflow, i truly appreciate it.
Caleb Hoover, loving your videos as a GH5 Filmmaker I really appreciate checking your tips and advice. I wanted to bring something up for filmmakers everywhere and it would be awesome for influential and helpful content creators like yourself to cover this topic that seems to be missed. A lot of content creators are using music libraries and they have great music options, but it doesn't really help composers/musicians in reality and while it may seem somewhat unrealistic to hire a composer to score or write for your video specifically, you'd be surprised how people would be willing to collab. I only bring this up as an observation that almost every filmmmaker I've been seeing filmmakers (other than myself I compose all the music for my videos for Symphonic Planet and CookieMonsta Media) all use libraries and I feel it should be an important conversation to have to let filmmakers know there are other options available to make your film even more original and stand out.
Absolutely! This is a great point! I wish I could have custom music all the time. I thought about making my own music for some videos because I'm also a musician but unfortunately the actual video making process takes up all the time and I don't have time to do my own music.
@@CalebHoover you know it would be a really cool thing to see content creators collaborating with composers/songwriters to feature their music for those vids. if you don't have the time to produce your own. its also a neat way to promote their brand yours too. thats how i feel and it develops a network relationship of creators.
@@CalebHoover i'd definitely to have a more in depth chat with you sometime if you are down. not sure if you work with many film score composers, but I do this for a living here in LA would be neat to have a off-site chat with ya
