Hello, I am really into making these ornaments! Thank you so much for your videos. In the previous video you mentioned that you recommend a place to buy the pins by the lb. I can't seem to find that. Can you help me out? I'm into my second 1/2 lb. box so I'm gonna need a better deal.

Wow. You make pushing those pins in look as though you're pushing pins into cotton. I had to dig out my super heavy duty thimble to push pins in and I've probably bent over 40 pins and I've only completed one half the ornament.
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl 4 года назад
Lisa it sounds like you have a very high density foam (like the brand “Smoothfoam’). Those are super hard to push pins into! The foam I use is very soft and it’s much easier. I hope that helps.

Thank you to share that very good instructions and so lovely ornament ! Only one question, to what dimensions should we cut the small rectangles of fabric ?
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl 4 года назад
Hi Dominique... the rectangles are 2x3". And I actually cover all of the supplies in much better detail in part 1 of this series, right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5RYjeVPJx1E.html - You might find that helpful too!

Any thoughts on using a piece of fabric around the middle that does not match the last fabric put on?
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl 3 года назад
Susan, you can absolutely do that. Here's an example of one I did where the band was in a different fabric that the outer later (it did still coordinate, but it was different): theornamentgirl.com/blog/my-ornaments/the-april-2017-ornament-kit/

I have seen some of these done with a 2 1/2" square piece of fabric (jelly role). Will this make a difference for your patterns?
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl 3 года назад
Hi Sandra... you could definitely use the 2-1/2" squares with many of the patterns, including this one.
@TheShelbyMaxwell
@TheShelbyMaxwell 2 года назад
@@TheOrnamentGirl would the fold process still be the same? I know you fold yours differently with the rectangles than the other style that does squares.

When the fabric corners overlap, can I use the old pin to hold both corners down? Reduces the number of pins needed.

How much fabric to do you need of each fabric to make one.
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl Год назад
1/4 yard of each color you are working with will give you enough fabric for at least one ornament. If you change up the order of the colors, you can probably get more than one. I hope you'll give them a try! They are so much fun!

I have 9cm foam balls, what size fabric should I use?
@TheOrnamentGirl
@TheOrnamentGirl Год назад
You can probably use the same size pieces. If you get to the end and you find that there is still a bit of foam showing, you can also add an extra layer of fabric. I hope that helps!

Instead of cutting the fabric away, why not make the 3rd and 4th rows of fabric smaller? I think then you should also have much more fabric for other ornaments.
