i love your RU-vid clips and the fact that you aren't a perfectionist but your projects always turn out looking absolutely fabulous! You've inspired me to have a go at quilting - I was always put off by how complicated it looked and how accurate I assumed you needed to be! Now there's no pressure 😁.
I love your video and what you’ve so graciously shared with us. And I love your kitty. I too am an “enabler,“ and it makes me happy. Isn’t it wonderful that we can do whatever we want to in our sewing rooms! I actually took one of the drawers in my sewing cabinet and it became my teacup Yorkies “private suite!” he was as well behaved, groomed, and the best company ever! He was probably a better quilter than I am!🤗💝🤪

I enjoyed watching your video. When you moved your kitty out of the way of your machine, and he came back and made himself comfortable right on the sewing machine was SO CUTE. My kitty follows me everywhere too 🐈
LOL....When I first starting quilting, my cat was just as helpful. I used to hand quilt all of my tops and the cat used to sit on top of the top while I quilted. Love that I got to relive those memories with this video. Thank you. :)

Peanut & Oliver are absolutely the sweetest, my oliver aka Ollie is so like Peanut, until I moved his carpet tree stand beside my sew tabletop. No more clips & fabric strips scattered on floor., thought I had him tricked but now he lays on the top level & swipes while the spool unravels…lol I like easy comfortable ways of quilting videos. I just love how your cat, Peanut, was rubbing her face while you were talking. She was saying, "You have 2 hands that are not being used. Stroke me, NOW! My cats do the same but I love cats more than anything. That said, I love your way of teaching, you are entertaining and really inspire me to try quilt as you go. Thank you 😊

I love the cat and it did not interfere with your instructions at all. If my old cat wasn't in heaven I would swear you stole her. Cats and quilts go together perfectly.
I recently bought a Babylock Cascade, and I am trying quilting placemats, table runners and wall hangings. I loved your instructions. AND, I loved the kitty too. I have three kitties.
Last week I bought a baby lock allegro. It wouldn’t sew for jamming up and had to box it up and send a brand new machine to be fixed. A brand new $1300.00 machine had to be fixed, not happy.
Your cat is as irritating as my cat: he always wakes up when I am trying to cut or sew something; he then either wants food, to go outside to the loo, or just to mither me. But who would be without them! Great video. Thank you!
I got to say that you are a lot more adventurous than me. I find the quilt as you go from the video's I've seen would be a challenge for me. That's just me though with all my health issues. As for your cat it is letting you know how much he loves you and wants to be with you. I have two cats like that and they are both rescue's. They are in need of a lot of attention and love, and of course I give it. They both like very much to sleep while I am quilting and sewing. So, I understand your cat wanting the same thing. It was sort of funny to watch your cat trying so hard to get your attention while you are trying to make a video. Great job through it all!
When I press the seams open, I first finger press and put little dots of Elmer's School Glue to hold it down better right before I iron the seams open.
My cat is like yours, he wants to be part of it, Thomas lies down on the fabric any chance he gets. But what your kitty did at around 9 minutes killed me, so so sweet ♥and also annoying for you

I love the fabrics that you chose to sew your quilt-as-you-go blocks from and how cute they all turned out..... But, to be honest, I did have a hard time seeing everything that you were trying to teach us on your video when your cat was on the table and near you while you were sewing. Maybe in the future someone could entertain your cat while you film your videos. Just a suggestion. :)
OMG. How do I figure out how to move my foot over 3/8ths of an inch. LOL. Seriously though, how Would I move my foot 3/8ths of an inch. I would like to try another with the jelly roll strips. :-). But more importantly thank you for watching and your suggestion. April
@@aprilscraftroom The faceplate on your machine should have markings. Some are metric so I would just choose one and use it. As long as you are consistent there shouldn't be a problem.

What is it about cats that starts them off when the patch work comes out ? I have 2, and they come running to get in my way when I get the material and sewing machine out.
Growing up we did puzzles and the cat loved to be on the table where we worked. And I'm talking big puzzles several 1000 peace puzzles.. So to keep the puzzles on the table is in the table he was given a Box that he could sit in and sleep in while we worked and we were to reach over and pet him. Also it was obvious that my dad couldn't do anything right. Is. He couldn't Weld without being supervised fixed is supervised fixed a car without being supervised . I don't think it's because hes afraid of getting hurt or causing you problems hes just double checking your work make sure you're staying to task
Can someone tell me where the term JELLY ROLL came from my mom quilted all her life. Passed away 17 years ago at 89. I grew up watching her quilt. Never heard the praise jelly roll. Can’t figure this one out.
It was a marketing ploy by Moda Fabrics. When pre-cuts came out, first was fat quarters. Then Moda released 10” squares and named them Layer Cakes. Then the Jelly Rolls 2 1/2” rolls of fabric, full with of fabric. Charm Squares were 5” squares and mini charms were 2 1/2” squares.
I wish you would link this video to the others that show finishing the quilt. It would help a lot. I finally found part 2 but not part 3 where you actually show quilting.

I remember this - I used to sew with cats. They always wanted to be in the middle. My dogs are too big for that, so they come over and want attention, but are not actually on the sewing machine!
One more thing…. I have always been told that you can get blood out of fabric, if the person whose blood it is spits on the fabric. How do you get the cat to spit on the fabric???
