I made a second reflector for Coleman's kerosene lantern 639c. There is no genuine Coleman reflector for the Coleman kerosene lantern 639c, so I made one.

This time it's Mk2 because it's my second self-made reflector. Improved from the original Mk1.
There are three improvements:
① Increase strength → bend the four corners
②Miniaturization
③Simplify installation → Fix with only mounting brackets
It's easy to make, just cut the stainless steel tray to size using scissors. Process the mounting hardware to the specified size. Drill holes in the stainless steel tray and mounting bracket using an electric drill and secure with blind rivets. Only this.
In conclusion, this time's Reflector Mk2 was a failure.
The mounting bracket was not long enough, and there was no escape route for air heated by radiant heat, causing the fuel tank and fuel valve to heat up, creating a dangerous situation.
Mk1 has a certain gap between the lantern and reflector so that warmed air can pass through. There was no need to change that interval.
I'm thinking of improving the mounting bracket again to ensure an air escape route.

コールマンの灯油を燃料とするケロシンランタン用に二代目リフレクターを作りました。コールマンケロシンランタン639c用リフレクターです。リフレクターとは反射板のことです。ケロシンランタンである639Cは爆光ランタンのため、隣に気を使うキャンプサイトでは広範囲に照らさなくてもいい場面があり、後方への明かりを遮断するリフレクターがあると便利です。但し、ケロシンランタン639c用のコールマン純正リフレクターは無いので作りました。
実は、すでに作っていて動画も投稿しています。初代のMk1です。
今回は二代目の自作リフレクターです。なのでMk2です。初代Mk1から色々と改良しています。
材料は100均のステンレストレーです。特大サイズなので200円です。
あとは、取付金具として飯盒の蓋を作る時に余ったアルミ板の端材がまだ余っていたので。ブラインドリベットやドリルなどは元々あるものなので、材料費はステンレストレー分だけです。これも初代Mk1と同じです。
改良点は以下の3点です。
①強度を上げる→四隅を折り曲げる
②小型化
③取り付けの簡略化→取付金具だけで固定する
作り方は簡単で、サイズに合わせて金切バサミでステンレストレーをカットします。取付金具を決めたサイズに加工します。ステンレストレーと取付金具に電気ドリルで穴を開けブラインドリベットで固定します。これだけです。
結論をいうと、今回の二代目リフレクターMk2は失敗でした。
取付金具の長さが足りず（これは純正ベンチレーターリフレクターと同時に使う設計にしたため）、輻射熱で温められた空気の逃げ道が無く、タンクやダイヤルつまみが熱せられ危険な状態になりました。
初代Mk1は、熱が逃げるようにランタンとリフレクターの隙間をある程度あけています。その間隔を変更する必要ありませんでした。
空気の逃げ道を担保するため、取付金具を再度改良しようと思います。
つうか、大きめに作った初代Mk1の四隅を折り曲げて強度を上げて使った方がいいと感じました。
そうなのです。二代目リフレクターMk2を作ってみたものの、意味なかったという結末になった。というのは内緒にしておいてください。はい。
