Here’s the second part of my Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery slow stitching box in the shape of a house with a roof that opens.
In this episode I share how I make the English paper piecing #epp brick wall with simple inner core of cardboard and felt.
I also share my plans for slow stitching on the Moda French general fabric on the inside of the box.
I love the vintage fabric look of this piece.
I hope you enjoy following along with this tutorial to make your own slow stitch box for #Roxysjournalofstitchery

Cheers,

Thank you Christine for your video and company today. I am playing catch up as computer has given up the ghost so I have revived the old Kindle for now. More to binge watch😂 Love the fabric choices and so lovely to keep you company while stitching. This house will be beautiful in your craft room. Thank you for showing each step,very much appreciated.

Sorry to hear about you computer but glad you have a back up option. I have one of the first generation kindles so definitely can’t watch RU-vid on those early black and white ones with no moving image but glad yours has that option. I’m really enjoying working on and sharing this project. Cheers, Christine

Aw thanks for showing how to cover the cardboard. Was thinking of just felt on one side but can see this makes much more sense. Your box is going to look lovely.

Thank you - I’ve also been experimenting with just the glue, iron over to crease the edges girly, flick out the template and then onto a sheet of steam-a-seam for a stitch free version! I’ll share a video soon 🤗

I did a complete "OH WOW" when I saw your hexis. How beautiful they are and gorgeous choice of fabric. You certainly do have soooooo much patience and I can see why it would be a meditative project. All the time and patience in the world. As for needle stabs.......let's just say it's lucky I'm not on RU-vid. Hahaha. 😂😂 The words that fall out .... Well all I can say is.......good lord hahahaha. 👼👼😈😈. Haha. Looking forward to seeing the end result of this project. And Happy Mothers day as Travers Mum. And to both your Mums around you. Xxx have beautiful day.

@@createandcraftwithchristine thankyou Christine. Yes it is a little. Especially the first mother's day without mum. But beautifully...the chrysanthemum mum and my sister had given me last mother's day a year ago had had waited to bloom on mother's day (Sunday) as if mum was right there saying hello. 😊😊🥰🥰❤️❤️ Wish I could put a photo up for you.

I love how your hex pattern has turned out, the colour scheme is gorgeous. Watching your pattern stitching makes me feel very nostalgic for the hex pattern quilt I made for my child 15+ years ago - but I used paper templates! The epiflex things look really handy, and the Uhu tip is one I’ll be trying out too! I remember my needlework teacher telling me that many of the personal letters from earlier eras had been found in unfinished quilts where they’d been used as templates. I thought that was an interesting fact 😂 Will you be embroidering over the surface of the hex patterns too?
@createandcraftwithchristine
@createandcraftwithchristine Месяц назад
Lovely heading about the letters found as hexi templates in unfinished quilts from the past. And lovely that it brought back memories of your own special family quilt. I’m planning to add some embroidery Luke a vine growing up one wall to start as I’ve trialled another approach for making the wall even faster than the method I’ve followed so far - stay tuned 🤗
