This dudes music literally has changed my entire life. Kept me out of prison, kept me from hitting that lick where my my nigga got shot when it was supposed to be me. This dudes music is literally the reason I went back to school, and the reason I believe in chasing your dreams.
2020. I’m locked down out here with the covid. Brought it back to some OG Oddisee. Seen this man live twice in Vancouver. He’s a legend in all aspect of hip hop. Pure talent. This song is straight up fire, makes me feel so good. Even in 2020.
This dudes music has made me strive for higher things in life. I live in Orange County, California and his music has still become a soundtrack for my life living in this area. Although worlds apart, DC and Orange County is connected in my vision through this guys music. Thank you Oddisee!!!
This ish puts me in the zone...crazy love for this cat!! I could just imagine the chills and goosebumps he got making this joint..HIP HOP never died , just pplz ability to have abilities
crazy ass song, soo many quotes can be pulled from this. this is philosophy to the rythym of a smooth beat. and by the way...he just DESTROYED it especially towards the end
Always love watching this video since i live literally in woodridge right next to brookland. i pass everything in it everyday. it looks nothing like this now. Gentrification is real lol
***** "That was too black for em..let me spit it light skinned..get hipster fans and groupy love from white women...that will get the plaques for em, that will get the stacks for em..all he gotta do is suppress the fact that the fights in him and then the cameras flash for em"
This is off his album from 2008 entitled "101". This guy just might be the hardest working producer/emcee in the game. Check out his instrumental album "Traveling Man", that just dropped this month. Its bananas.
@tameone: the reason is we need more people like you to buy our music, and spread the word. I'm an mc/vocalist (underground) on my grind, it's good to know theres people with taste out there, it gives me hope! as for odisee-dope-simple as that...
At 50 seconds does he say "name dropping in a track like game"? That would make sense because the game name drops dre, biggie and/or pac in almost every song he makes 😂
@SouthCadiLLac word, it always suprised me how international real hip hop is, and it's not even the mainstream stuff. it seems like overseas it's more likely to sell out concerts for wu-tang and other classic hip hop acts, and also all the underground stuff like this.
