I was gifted a circuit joy and I had no idea how to use it. This video is so helpful! I plan to make shirts and DIY gifts for my bridesmaids. Thank you!!
Hi my name is Glenda and I am new at the Cricket Joy and I really enjoyed watching your video. I am going to make my first card and then a shirt. Thank you
How wonderful, Jennifer! I think tutorials are so helpful because you can watch someone else do the steps and it helps build your crafting confidence! I am so glad to have you here watching and enjoy your new Joy!
I just made my first 2 t-shirts today, and first time using the iron on also. Made one for my mom with goats, and one with a unicorn for my granddaughter. Thank you for the helpful information!
Mary Bailey yes!! Honestly, it was this fact that made me want to purchase the Joy because I wanted to still be able to use all my other full size materials when I wished!
I am just about to stop working and I'm so happy you are showing these videos because I just bought my Cricut Joy! Can't wait to see what you have coming this summer! Wonderful work by the way!
Received my Joy a week ago and have made a couple of easy cards and one iron on. I wondered how to do multiple colors! Thank you so much for your tutorials! Your instructions are clear and so easy to follow! I keep a notepad handy!😉
I love your videos. This project is so cute, I love it. When you layer HTV you don't need to heat press each layer for 15 sec because your are overheating every layer. You just need to press each layer for 3 or 5 sec and then the final layer for the complete 15 sec. Looking forward to see more of your HTV project :-)
Lunnsdesigns thanks so much, so glad you’re enjoying my videos! I have definitely seen this done both ways so yes!! More often than not, I find that I need to repress my design anyways so I usually just do the double press in the first place. Thank you so much for watching!
Absolutely adorable!!! I’ve made t-shirts for my daughter and her best friend for their high school senior picnic last year. It was so fun. I used glitter HTV and regular HTV. I don’t have the cricut press so I did have a difficult time especially with the glitter sooooo today I ordered my cricut press because I want to make more iron on projects. This year my son is a senior in high school and want to make him and his boys their shirts. Your videos are so sweet and amazing. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, T
You are too adorable. Love your stlyle and sweet nature. Your girls are so lucky to have such a talented, smart and sweet Mommy like you. Great teaching to. Loved it.
Wow, what a sweet comment! You are so encouraging and I appreciate you taking the time to send some encouragement, it means so much! So happy to have you here watching!
Bethadilly me too. Enjoy your teachings. Got my Cricut Joy March 1st But have only done a card and the sample sticker vynal that comes in the box. So want to try a banner and T-shirt. Thank you so much in taking the time to teach us. So appreciate it!! May you and your family have a blessed night. Now I need to get the Cricut mini press. So cute. Lol.
Hi Bethany so I just got the easypress 2 and yes I got the exact the same cricut joy as you but I’m going to go pick them all up on Wednesday I got the raspberry easypress 2 I’m very excited to you them but I have never had a cricut machine before so this is my verry first time using one
Also, make sure you are not layering your HTV directly on top of one another, but instead having each piece connect to your shirt. I hope this is helpful!
You have helped me so much with my new purchase, you explain things very well, I’m learning a lot from you thank you so much for sharing information and ideas
I'm so glad that I found your channel. I'm new to the cricut line and started with Joy and now have the Cricut Press 2. I can't wait to get started. Thank you for the tutorial ❤❤
I love my Joy, I've done 3 large men tshirts and one female tshirt. 3 coffee mugs and 2 tumblers, as well as the card maker quite few times. I plan on getting a bigger one, but for now I'm in love with my joy
Such an adorable shirt. I have made a ton of shirts and love creating them in Design space. Two things I do different and believe me, in the long run you will be glad you added these steps to any HTV project. 1) I run a lint brush over the shirt or what ever I am putting the HTV on, before placing the HTV on it. This prevents the vinyl from lifting if there is lint, or in my case doggie hair, on the material that you may not see. I have had this happen and it is sad because I couldn’t fix it once I pressed. 2) If it calls for 15 sec, I press just enough time to get it to stick when layering and then the last layer I press the full amount of time. This prevents the HTV from “shrinking” and then my design may not line up correctly. Essentially, when you press the full amount of time, each layer, the bottom layer had been extremely over heated.
@@Bethadilly I'm actually still trying to find a way to get the little Cricut Joy machine I've got other project ideas in my head too like possibly mouse pads and coozies for example I think I could have a lot of fun making stuff
@@Bethadilly Good morning! Do you have a video tutorial that explains adding a sentiment to the inside of the Joy made card with the card mat? Just made my first card but at a loss to put a sentiment inside. Thank you! Really struggling with Design Space...LOL
Thank you !! Im very much enjoying your videos :) I have always loved the cricut but have gotten away from it and your videos are just what I needed !!!
Thank you for the video. The protect is beautiful and is a big help for beginners like me. ❣️😍 I would like to know where I can get the ring with the vinyl samples?
Robin Hanff Hi Robin! Thanks for the sweet comments! My production lighting has already been lowered, but you can definitely lower the brightness on your device’s screen if that helps you see a little easier! Thanks for watching!!
I have a Cricut air 2 and have used a larger machine since 2012. I bought the Joy on an impulse when the price went down. I actually was thinking about returning it but thanks to your video I just might keep it. Can I use my own card stock cut and folded???
hello I'm new to your channel and it's helping me a lot, thanks for that, can you please tell me how you put the outline on the top so I can see what you delete thanks 🙏
There’s a new easy press called the easy press 2 I’m going to get it and use it with my cricut this is my first ever cricut machine my friend wants the explore air 2
Any advice? I've never used a Cricut machine, but I'm looking in to buying one. I want to make personalised flutes, t-shirts etc, but I also want to use my own designs. Which would be the best machine for me to purchase? Thank you 😊
I find that using the Cricut comparison chart on their website is really helpful when deciding on what machine to use! Also, here is a link to a list of materials that the Maker and Explore Air 2 can cut, so you can see what materials best fit your crafting needs! help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009504773-Which-materials-can-I-cut-with-my-Cricut-Explore-and-Maker-machine-
i have just purchased the Joy. what is HTC and where do you purchase the membership. i assume you cannot get the color sheets and directions making something with several colors
HTV is heat transfer vinyl. I’m not sure what membership your asking about but if you’re talking of the Design Space membership, you can access it through Design Space or Cricut’s website.
Hi, You can put the mat inside of the t shirt so you don’t have to try and smooth two layers to be equal. Some shirts go all wonky by the way they’re cut and won’t lie evenly.! 🥰🌺💕🌷🌻🌼🌸
It’s possible to use a household iron, though I haven’t had success with it because I found it hard to determine the correct temperature. I quickly invested in an EasyPress.
I prefer the 9x9 EasyPress size as my go to for shirts! You can use a regular iron, though I haven’t had success with it because it was hard for me to determine the right temp.
Do you have to use the same coloured vinyl that’s on the screen or is this just done for referencing. Like for instance could you do several cut levels contoured but keep them all black on the screen but colours on the mat Thank you
If you keep all of the layers black, your Cricut will assume you want to use one color and will place them on one mat. Differentiating the colors tells your Cricut you would like it to place your layers on separate mats so you can use different colors for your design.
@@Bethadilly thank you so I can use any different colours don’t have to match colours I’m using just so cricut can understand they are different pieces
@@Bethadilly thank you that’s a great help. I want to start a small side job of personalised cloths and items so you think the joy will be enough for this.
Only Smart Iron On (or any HTV Iron On) for shirts! Smart Vinyl or adhesive vinyl is for cups, signs, etc. It is more of a sticker, whereas Iron On uses heat to be placed on fabrics!
Can you make adult shirts with the cricut joy as well? I had the cricut air 2 and thought it was too big didn’t have a great place to store it. I’m very interested in the Joy due to its size.
Jodi Greenberg you can! You’ll just be mindful of how you size your design, and slice it if necessary! I have multiple videos on t shirt making with the Joy so be sure to check out my Joy playlist!
Hey, I was wondering if I can use an ironing machine because I want to buy the circuit joy but is it an essential to have the easy press because I've got an ironing machine already at home? Can you use the circuit joy to make cake toppers as well?
Hi Sheima! Yes, you can use a household iron. I personally didn’t have success with it because it was hard to determine the right heat, so I quickly purchased an EasyPress for my iron on projects and am much more successful at it. Be sure to look up tutorials on using a household iron on other crafting channels for help with that! Yes, you can make cardstock cake toppers with the Joy, you’ll just be aware of the size restrictions of the Joy!
