Really well thought out. I have two brand new great-nephews and thinking if i start soon, by the time they're 3 or 4, I'll have a small collection of toys for them. Thanks for sharing!
All sold - oh no (tear tear sniffle sniffle). My g'daughter loves cars and trucks (wonder where she got that ...hmmm) so I was gonna buy one but no problem I'm very glad you sold them so quick and donated the majority! Thanks for doing that and for sharing the video of the build!
I received the Front Loader today! Thank you it is very nice! I'm sure my granddaughter will love playing with the loader. It will make a nice addition with the wood toys I've made her.
Thats an excellent project. I have made a grader and dump truck and now I have the plans to make a front end loader Thanks I enjoy watching your videos Cheers
Wow what a beautifully made toy! Your videos are really fantastic, thanks so much for sharing. Loved the happy dance your big loader was doing holding the baby girl loader at the end too ;)
Great video...The amount of tools and equipment you have is amazing. I have to make do with work arounds for almost everything due to the lack tools.. or shall i say lack of money to buy these awesome tools 🤣
Wow ya got this Dad been lookin for awhile to find someone that makes it easy for old guy to make for grand children's to enjoy Keep up the Great work and designing is Cool to see ya don,t hav to be Craftsman to do your Good Work thks again for Sharin ya got my Subscribe
Thanks! It a design I came up with a couple years ago for my nephew. Pretty much just from looking at pictures of the real thing, I may have looked at some other toy designs for inspiration too, I don't recall. I've been using that style of cab on all his construction vehicles.
I'd like to make the toy donation an annual event so you can probably expect at least one a year. I've made a bunch for my nephew over the years, some are simpler than this and some are more complicated. I would also really like to experiment with making some lego style linear actuators and universal joints so they can actually work like the real thing.
What a great video! Had some awesome batch work, excellent tips & warnings so we don't encounter any growing pains. Thank you for sharing the Sketchup file also.
This is good but I cannot make them at home. So, can I get something like wooden tankers, trailer, and rescue ladder? The model should be uniquely assembled and the toys must look elegant.
I left them unfinished because it's unclear whether there are any finishes that wouldn't require testing under the law. It sounds like shellac would be exempt but I haven't had the best of luck applying that on complex shapes. I probably just would have done a spray lacquer otherwise.
+Mike Erceg it's at sketchup.com but try this jpg instead of sketchup. You should be able to get most/all of the info you would get from the model from this. www.krtwood.com/plans/frontendloader.jpg
beast33182 You need the program SketchUp to open it. I can't give you a tutorial on how to use the program but basically you can turn off the layers to isolate individual parts and get whatever dimensions you need. I think the file has most of the dimensions you might need already labelled.
