Seriously - it's now a month later (and kind of a different world entirely) but I am blown away that Josh was able to have such a nuanced take after only 6 hours.
I have a feeling hes gna be the new Dave Chapelle. His story telling comedy is exactly like chapelles style. And he has the ability to come up with new material and get you hooked to listening to a story and waiting for the laugh. And not many comedians have that talent. God bless his soul ! ❤❤

Dude punctuates one of the best speeches for unity with "I just want a good taco". A true poet of our time. Mad respect for Josh for being able to preach deep thoughts to an audience with some jokes in between to keep the mood light and up. That's the best way for comedy to be a vehicle.

That’s why comedy is subjective. Everyone has their own style and sense of humor. There’s no right or wrong way to do comedy. And you can’t please everyone.
For real. I can show my parents his whole videos without having to cringe and apologize for language use and content. I work hard to filter what I show my parents out of respect and Josh Johnson’s work always gets through while being stunningly funny
💯 Im packing up my house for a move and listening to him & laughing...nothing makes me feel uncomfortable, or cringe, etc. There is a comedian for everyone...and Josh is a comedian for my minds level..not stated right but you know what I mean.
I once asked my boxing coach, who was a legitimate Mui Thai practitioner and fighter that competed, what he tactics he would use if somebody tried to pick a fight with him in a bar. He stopped warming up, looked me dead in the eyes, and said without even a little bit of sarcasm, “I’d just get naked. Nobody wants to fight the naked guy.” Then immediately continued shadowboxing. There were so many layers to that lesson that it has stayed with me for years. Lol
Reminds me of a conversation with a friend who also grew up in a kinda rough area. I was complaining that my mom gives me shit for going out at night. He responded that he would just go out naked with a knife and a bottle of ketchup. No one wants to get close to the craziest guy on the street at 2 am. Yes we are Floridians 😅

I love how all the good martial arts teachers are like: Best strategy in a real fight is 'don't get in a real fight'. Now let me show you how to break a guys arm if he has a knife! 😄😄 But it's true though imo martial arts is for yourself to feel secure and for the cases where there is no other way out. My old Taekwondo teacher also repeatedly told us before self defense lessons - 'If someone pulls a knife on you irl move 1 is run! Move 2 is throw something then run! This stuff is for the 0,1% where you can't run!"

Josh has the ability to talk about incredibly serious topics. Things that would normally derail a show/set, and yet he is able to bring the energy back on a satisfying whim, that few comedians do as well as he does it. Truly incredible work. 🔥🔥
The best thing, for me, about JJ is that he is, obviously, a flaming liberal, and I am, admittedly, a flaming conservative, but he is still my favorite news source! There is no topic that's safe from him, but all topics are safe with him. He is an equal opportunity roaster. His observations are so keen, and his setups so flawless his humor always works. There are whole stretches of time where it's like if Josh isn't reporting it, I don't need to know it! The news is such an intellectual, moral, and emotional tire fire, no one even wants to hear it. But he manages to give it to us in an honest, but user friendly way.

How can you be a "flaming conservative", isn't being truly conservative actually being reserved, in actions and practices? It would seem if you're very out and loud and excited, or even perhaps aggressively conservative, about being a conservative, you might not be a conservative. @MidnightAssass1n I think a better comparison is Lewis Black, the man who literally started the daily show and is still a correspondent for it. Lewis doesn't write his material down word for word like, most comedians he usually just off the dome does his thing just by coming up with a topic. The both of them remind me of rapers who don't write their bars they just do them
I like that he got passed the podcast bullshit all the other comedians are hooked on. Annoying audience or not (I wasn't annoyed but some were) real good comedy needs an audience.
I waited a couple of days to get my head straight before settling in to listen to Josh think aloud about the assassination attempt. He didn't disappoint. I feel thoughtful, affirmed, and confirmed in believing that we as Americans can and will do better.

Just looked up that pirate video and it’s extra impressive that Josh got all those laughs out of that story without touching on the whole LGBT+ background. It’s like showing other comedians: you can skip the low-lying fruit which just goes splat on someone’s face to reach a higher plane. Well done!

it's some skill to be able to wring 10 minutes of entertaining material out of describing a youtube video that's less than 7 minutes long. like you could go and watch the video in less time but it's not as funny as hearing him talk about it.

It’s easy to get annoyed, but yeah it wasn’t her fault. I have a loud weird shriek laugh and like to make commentary to my husband during shows. I would be MORTIFIED if it was all captured for RU-vid. She’s just trying to have a good time. And it sounds like she was. Good for her.

I live in the bay area, and this confirms i'm not friggin crazy. I could have sworn i saw a pirate on the bart train one morning, but i was running on 2 hours of sleep so i thought I was trippin' .
Lots of really weird stuff in bay/Bart area. Occultists/rituals, huge private libraries, people so strangely/ugly looking like goblins, other groups doing interesting things. Saw the most legit Russia agent guy I've ever seen. Te lawyers/judges seem to be on something. Very creepy artwork and behavior. Hooker areas with bad stuff going on, so much so that people just turn a blind eye to people needing help. Everything bizarre. Plus, Bohemian Grove. Worst are the new rich. They have the most terrible behavior to service staff, no shame about raging in public. Super low class terrible new rich behavior.. but the Pirate stuff and fights on trains I saw more of them in Toronto tbh. That's more normal and fewer substances.
I live in the Bay Area as well, and other than Beta Breakers and Folsom, thankfully, I’ve only been thrown off by a with her breasts hanging out holding a knife on BART.
So no joke, I got into a really bad car accident this past Saturday. I'm really bruised up, but otherwise fine. But definitely almost died by nearly flipping over a low railing and plunging down hundreds of feet. I've been in a funk and thos video just made my damn month!!!! Drive safe everyone. Goddamn, you have this like perfect control of your voice, you always have the ability to drop down into a comedic register, that makes your monologuing style work so well. Just so permanently funny; not gonna say effortlessly, but definitely you have a natural knack for this.
