My husband said you are a modern day Eleanor Burns. LOL. At least he's been paying attention all these years!!!! Thanks for all you contribute to us quilters.
Jenny this is why you were the one that got me started quilting again. You are so sweet and so real. You are sweet and real enough to share your mistakes. I love this quilt. For some reason it made me think of the flowers “Queen Anne’s lace”. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Beautiful quilt and so easy to alter size. Thank you sew much again for sharing your charming self and talent. I don’t know if you- Jenny will ever actually see this, I truly mean it when I say your videos are the initial thing that got me back to quilting after many years of not. I guess I got to busy when my kids were growing up and gave up the part of me that loved quilting. Now at 56 and spending the last 8 years being full time care giver to my very ill husband and also we adopted a baby that needed parents I have thankfully come back to quilting. Best therapy there is. I can tell you that between our son - this sweet amazing young boy is now 7 and getting back to my love of quilting - I feel like it’s given me so much joy and comfort. You have such grace and charm in front of the camera. A real natural. Makes so many of us feel as if your right here in our sewing rooms/area with us. Making it to MSQC is on my bucket list. Not sure if I will be able to make it happen as I also have health issues to deal with myself now but it’s staying on my bucket list!!! Thank you not only for how you saved your town and what you do for your community but also for all that you do for quilters everywhere ❤️😘😍
Hi, Brenda! We've passed your message along so that Jenny will see it. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, and for letting us share your quilting journey with you. Keep at it, and hope we'll see you here sometime soon!
Thank you. I know I am one of many that has been so positively effected by Jenny and I am happy that she will be seeing my statement and know just how much she has done for so many. Thanks again for letting me know 😍
The finished block held up at 34 seconds is the one with the mistake. I watched this video 3 times before noticing. ;-) LOVE the pattern and drafting the finished block for reference. Can't wait!
Thankyou Jenny, your generous teaching is so inspiring…. Do love how quick you are with no bla bla added, just getting down and sewing, love it. Xxx💜💜💜😘
I just got the rows done yesterday I would show on the all stars but I’m waiting for my Two daughters to get time to start theirs yes you got it we have the same jelly roll and we are doing a triple play ❤️
Good morning I am watching your tutorial on Antique Lace and just notice on the second block you held up there is an error on the top left corner. I absolutely love watching everything Missouri Star you are all fabulous. Watching from Scotland.
I LOVE this quilt! I'm thinking I may do this with a dark charcoal background and bright solids giving it an Amish look. However, this quilt would look great in many different themed fabrics. Or, how about a variety of red and green solids/or near solids on a white background for Christmas! Wow, many options here; it will look fabulous in just about any fabric selection! Thanks, Jenny & MSQC; you guys ROCK!!! ❤
I'm finally working at this beautiful quilt pattern. I've finished 5 blocks so far and noticed that I don't have all of the center pinwheels going exactly the same way but I guess that doesn't matter. I will have to be more consistant on the next blocks. This is going to be MY quilt (I have made so many to give as gifts but am keeping this one for sure). Thank you Jenny for your delightful and amazing quilt tutorials. Can't tell you how much I've learned from them!!
Just another way to use the beautiful jelly rolls I have in my stash. Put more jellies on the daily deal! O Yeah! Great tutorial Jenny and I so love how real you are - especially loved learning the term “Frog Sewing”! You are such a wonderful bright spot in my day.
Thank you for always keeping things real. Mistakes happen, patterns can be confusing and I think the fear of either of those keep us from trying new things. Also, give that camera guy a bonus! I love that they are actually following along with what you do ❤
OK Jenny, I've watched your videos for years, I'm totally hooked. I need to make a Christmas themed block for a block exchange at our club Christmas party this year but it needs to be a block that finishes at 12 inches. I'm going to try to do this block using 1.5 inch HSTs (instead of 3 inch). This should give me a 10 inch block, then I'll just add a border to it to get the size I need. Wish me luck. Just so you know, that photo over there next to this comment is actually my sweet husband.
Glad to hear you've got a sweet husband, even if he's masquerading as you on RU-vid! Sounds like you have a great plan together to get your quilt to the right size. Take pictures and share when you get it done!
Finally finished this quilt with 9 big blocks (Measured 60 X 60) in red and white. Needed a bigger size so I added 12" border with 12" star blocks in the corners of the border. SO MANY HST's. Also, recommend that when you create your HST's, press the seams open and FINGER PRESS them as you cut them out. This will save your a lot of frustration when you are sewing them together and your needle jumps around because of the bulk.
I wonder......if I am looking at the block right, you could make four quarters just alike and spin them around. But Jenny makes a block so easy the way she breaks it down. I am just impatient and always looking for a faster way. This is a beautiful quilt. Cannot wait to try it. I am thinking Christmas 30's fabrics. Yes?
I very seldom use a pattern but oh my word!!!!! This is totally going to be my next quilt. 16 blocks each with a different grey but all the same background of a white on white!! I can't wait!!!
My friend and I just made this quilt. It was a bit challenging at first, but once we made our first square, it was easy to make. Love your videos. Thank you
I "SEW" appreciate you doing these different design videos! I'm sure you hear/read this a lot, I'm a visual learner and to read a pattern is frustrating at times, because I have to read it 3-5 times before I can make sense out of it or create a visual image in my head. Thank you, thank you for doing these videos and breaking down the blocks.
Feeling the same I just finished antique lace I finally realized that I have to do the first block in the quilt over and over again because it just gets turned to make the pattern
I love watching you put together quilts. I'm also thankful that the mistake wasn't edited out! I just shows that even Jenny has an "oops" moment. Great tutorial, awesome block.
I love that block! Thank you so much for showing us how to make it. I was thinking of using black for the background and using batiks for the print blocks. I have a lot of jelly rolls in batiks and this will be a good way to use them. You never cease to amaze me, Jenny. I was worried we wouldn't get a new tutorial this week. I stayed up last night and it never showed up. So glad we got to see a new tutorial. Love MSQC!
Awaiting the jelly roll, coordinating fabric, & pattern to arrive. Can’t wait to start this pattern- thinking it will easy to make a king size quilt with the blocks being so big!
Wow, this 0is such a beautiful design! It reminds me of something my grandma would come up with - she always loved working with pinwheels. I do plan to make this one, it’s amazing! Thank you for sharing the free pattern and all your wonderful, informative videos. Much appreciated!
Wow! This is so beautiful! And, the secondary pattern just makes it that much more amazing. And, "frog sewing"!! That's hysterical! It'll have to be my new mantra! Thanks so much!!
When I first watched this I thought "no way" because it was a big block with lots of pieces ... but the end results are gorgeous. Putting this one on my bucket list. BEAUTIFUL!
You will be pleasantly surprised how wonderful this looks when finished and how easily the points don't get lost. I made one for my mom that turned out so pretty that I bought the same fabrics to make myself a duplicate. The only change I made to mine was to add three more blocks.
Fabrics Of Yellows💛 an Lime Greens💚 Would Be Great Spring Summer Colors.. 😊🌺 Such a Great Block.. Comes together Fast.. 👏🏻😃 THANK YOU... 💕 You Guys are So Great At This ... 😊🌺
I love that this is such a stunning quilt, potentially made with only scraps. We all have leftover strips from jelly rolls, not enough for so many of the patterns out there, or they don't look that nice. But this one, with just 18 strips, is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Great video, and break down of what looks to be far more complicated. I do love how you just finger press a seam. Makes a hacker feel better when a professional makes a little Frogger.
So happy to see this was up because I was starting to go through withdrawal! Was it worth the wait? OH YES! This quilt is stunning! I'm not sure if I'll ever attempt it, but WOW it's beautiful! Oh wait. Maybe a wedding gift for one of my nieces or nephews.
We are so sorry you had to wait for this week's tutorial! We had a minor glitch but thankfully it has been fixed. Thank you so much for your loyalty and we sure hope you make one of these beauties as a wedding gift. I'm sure it will be adored!
My week has been sew crazy that I did not even realize it was Friday until I sat down and opened You tube and You popped up! Nice to be able and sit and dream for a few....
Now I have a new favourite quilt to make - the hope is I live long enough to make all the goodies you give us every Friday! Please keep up the inspirational work.
HSTs rock! The quilt is so airy and light, your vintage block was the perfect inspiration. I’m in the process of a ‘lengthy’ pack up for a move. Came across all the magazines and books I had ‘hidden’ in my closet from the 70s...and beyond. My next place will be ‘for me’, I will use them for my creations of joy. Thanks Jenny and to the peeps behind the camera. ; )
Absolutely stunning! Now I have a pattern for that jelly roll I’ve been saving forever for just the right quilt! Thank you for your sweet disposition , your humor and your exceptional talent!
Thank you so much for making a mistake. Then doing some frog sewing without frustration. Helps me see that we all , even the pro, can make a mistake. And fix it with a smile.
I find the look of this to be a bit reminiscent of the "Pecking Order Quilt" Jenny did a year about a year and a half ago. Very pretty. And thanks for keeping it real, sister! We ALL make boo-boos when we sew!
Gorgeous quilt! Thanks, Jenny, for showing us that even experts can occasionally sew something upside-down or backwards -- and that there's no shame in "ripping" and repenting!
Love this beautiful quilt! I'm like you Jenny with the" directionally challenged" mind and truly appreciate it when you say it and show that even the pros get mixed up! Thanks for all the great tutorials and patterns.
This quilt is beautiful. I watched the MSQ tutorial, I love my quacking notifications. I had to come here to leave the comment. Thank you @Jenny for all the teaching you do for us.
