On this episode of Ben's Worx i make a wooden end grain serving tray with a metalic resin inlay using Just resin's Art cast resin and Aluminium powder. The wood i used was Amora, Blackwood and Cherry. I used a 6mm straight cut router bit to carve the M.

You blew my mind when you glued the pieces, then turned them 90 deg. Why in Gods name did I not think of that years ago! Great build, by the way. Gorgeous piece.

That is incredible!!! First time I’ve ever seen someone glue the wood first in any video and I watched several. My husband is a retired Union Carpenter. His hands are gold.. He was trustee and delegate for many years . II have a creative mind for design and art. We are looking for projects to create together in our retirement. I’ve been looking into wood and resin projects because I love the look but the videos are extremely overwhelming for the resin, as we are ammeters. I figured an inlay would be a lot easier. I search and this popped up. Amazing job! Thank you for this. I’m already brainstorming!!

Hey can I ask you something? I'm just dipping my feet into the woodworking as a hobby world and I noticed you did something that I see a lot. On your table saw, you used the fence to cut the pieces in preparation for gluing them together, but once glued you cut them again on the table saw, but this time using a jig. Why use the jig instead of the fence? Was this because the jig is more accurate or because you were tapering the pieces?
@BensWorx
@BensWorx 5 лет назад
I used the jig to cut the tapered pieces, if i was making straight cuts I would have used the fence :)
