Finally, a tutorial that I follow and get like results lol. Thanks for sharing this! I did substitute the XPS foam for scraps from a foam project board and my speckle seemed to smear when I tried to wipe it off, so I wet the paper tower a bit to help. There's still some on the surface, but it adds a realistic worn look, so it's okay. Thanks again!

Experimenting using foam meat trays but only trays holding red meat or pork, wash a few times. Thickness varies along with color.. reuse help’s budget presently.. chocolate marshmallow egg trays are even thinner for inside use of house/ buildings.. use only the top of container..

Awesome work and awesome tutorial. Have you ever done a hollow tile wall? I'm making a 1/24 scale model of my grandfather's shop, and the hollow tile was exposed on the interior with stucco on the exterior. Your videos are going a long way in helping me with my project 🙂

Thank you! I have not done a hollow tile wall yet. That project sounds amazing, good luck with it and I’m glad that the videos are helpful! Thanks for watching!

Hello, thank you for the video. We are going to use this technique for a school project. We are also going to try the concrete. I am buying the paints. Can you help me with the golden acrylic paints? There are several different types. Heavy body, high flow, fluid. Also is there a particular set where the colors would come together? I saw in your video Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, and Raw Sienna. I got the Vallejo paints in a set except for Buff.

Very nice work. Just a thought: Not sure the foil treatment and push-in's are needed. I've seen that done in other videos but it might be a case of art imitating art. I don't see that IRL. Thx for tutorial just the same.

Thank you!! And yeah you’re right, unless you’re doing a really rough brick wall/ bombed out building, you typically don’t see too much texture on brick walls. But I guess it’s kinda an artistic license to make stuff look more interesting. Thanks for watching :)

@@smolworldworkshop Of course you're right. Pure realism isn't always the goal. (I also saw the concrete video where you caution not to over-do it.) Please keep the great content coming.

Fantastic! What is the standard size for 1/35 scale bricks?
@shipyard44444
@shipyard44444 3 месяца назад
bricks are 250mmx100mm so divide 250 by 35 will be 7.14mm long and 100 by 35 will be 2.87mm wide.i use 3mm styrofoam but be careful when cutting as you can cut through it.

Hi there! I got this 1/2” thick foam from Amazon. Just type in 1/2” pink xps foam. Also you can get 1” thick and 2” thick foam from Home Depot. Hope this helps!
