Hi there, welcome to Smol World Workshop! My name's Carson, and I'm a model maker from the U.S.
I enjoy creating a variety of scale models. They include scratch built architectural models, 3D printed details, scenery dioramas, plastic model kits, etc.
My goal is to provide you with the best videos that teach how to create highly realistic details for your miniatures and dioramas.
If you're looking to learn some new tips and techniques to apply to your own projects, then you have come to the right place!
Absolutely awesome art. I use extruded Styrofoam to make brick walls. It's lightweight and easy to carve and paint. I use thinner based spray paint to make the bricks look like old stone and glue them to the walls in my house to make it look like stone castle walls.
I loved this. I love how you meshed the scene with the trees giving it a beautiful setting. This is a studio quality scene that would work so well in a film.
Please tell us you work for a major studio making miniature sets for movies and TV. You sir are an artist. I always look forward to the notification of new content from your channel. Keep up the amazing work as always. Hope you and your family are doing well.
Great video and using the roller looks like it makes the job easier. Had to chuckle though. I worked at a sheet metal shop many years ago and we used a roller to make the heals and throats for the elbows (duct work). The roller here is quite similar to the one used at the shop with the only difference being the size and the rolling surface being smooth instead of corrugated.
The Diorama is beautiful. We don't have a time to enjoy the diorama after you finish it. You work until minutes of 34 but the video is until minutes 37. Can you show us completely the result. Give me time to enjoy what you were doing. REally disappointed. There no section for us to enjoy your model night and day.
I am not sure why you would go to all of the trouble of cutting the walls and enlarging the gaps to make the stones then to just fill in those gaps with spackle. It doesn't make sense to me I'm afraid. Also, instead of using just black paint for your basecoat, I would use ModPodge mixed with black paint. This will give the same colour but make it very hard and durable.
Thanks for the feedback! Spackle acts as the mortar that holds the stones together. Check out stone walls from Dinan France which was my inspiration if you’re interested. Also great tip with the mod podge
great job!!! looks amazing although i would not say realistic there were no bunkers that looked like this this design is fictional to saving private Ryan mostly.
Gorgeous! The attention to detail is spectacular. Little side note, if you print those tables upside down you’d minimize overhangs and the required supports meaning less work for you. I’ve never seen someone 3d print flowers like that before either, the little printed details are just stellar!
