Thanks Landmarq! All these years I been seeing you work through the evolution of maschine and you were the reason why I bought my first maschine. Now as an intermediate of maschine, your still helping me out in my development.
Since I've been using Maschine from the very beginning I've become a strictly pattern and scene user. Just like you, I create multiple patterns and also don't label. I also had problems having scenes longer than others. I would have stop and figure out how to make that area mathematically fit which is a royal pain in the butt because it takes away from the creative process and eventually I'll give up on the project. But after watching this and realize you can manipulate patterns and overwrite scenes which honestly I wish Maschine could do, now it's a reality. I can now retrain myself to use clips along with scenes and patterns. The only thing I dislike is how Maschine automatically assumes everything should be a clip and the ability to delete scenes and patterns from the drop menu. If you can I have yet to find out how. Thank you for making this informative video.
Great video brother 👊🏽🔥 been digging clips some far. You can also push C on the keyboard to switch from pattern/clip mode! Shout out to maschine users lol
Thanks for this. The light came on for me regarding clips. Especially with regard to the number of patterns that you will need to make. Now I do think that it’s a bit of a game changer.
Cool, I have had the Maschine for some time and just recently updated it then messed with it and stumbled upon the clip part and the little time I did mess with it I can see how much easier it is than when I first tampered with the unit (before the update). You answered a few more questions that may have come up and thanks again for that one. LOL ..... You compositions are going to assist in the population surge as well ( I quote Slick Rick "panties been flung across the room"). Keep going and thanks again for the video.
OMG man you are the Best. Those jams were the Best. Now that is what I call music. Just sit back and chill with a glass of wine and relax. Exhale. We all need something like this now. Life is too short. Your music can change the world. Thank you for the mood. 👏🏾👍🏾✌🏽☝🏾
13:00 I believe clips OVERRIDE an existing pattern, which is why you have to special things to select the pattern that is under a clip. Also, I think of clips as "off the grid," as in they are not locked into conforming to the scene grid like patterns must.
Thank you bro... Maschine has never been an easy (DAW)?!!! I came from reason and the scenes and patterns really mushed my head. Very accomplished productions too. Subbed
I can see why you have a tough time. The transition from reason to Maschine is definitely a different world. But just keep putting in the time. It will get easier!
@@Landmarq i am trying to integrate them with reason 10 vst support but.. really they are two seperate beasts.. and i can tell how my productions in each are unique. so maybe some magic will come...
I to be honest was about to sell my maschine gear( Mk3 & Jam) cause it was limited from this Daw point of viw!! dont know how or why it took them thaat long time to make a small very simple thing like clips! though still i find it limited for no good reason at all!!! but now I am gonna leave them not selling them to go to easy to the point full daw Abelton.
It depends on how you’re exporting. Do you normally export in separate groups? I can see how this would be an issue if your clip spans more than one group. I haven’t tried that out yet so I’m not sure exactly, but my guess is, the clip will be cut within the range of the group you’re exporting. I normally export the entire arrangement by sounds, so I’ve never had to face this issue.
I got the red ear cups from Amazon. Just searched for ATX replacement ear cups and found them. The head piece is actually just bicycle grip tape carefully wrapped around because there was no replacement part for that. I needed to replace everything because all the foam was starting to disintegrate. I had these for like 7 years
@@Landmarq i'm in the exact same boat man. Thanks for the info I might have to bite off that. Always love your work by the way. keep it up, you inspire to post more on my channel
I've tried to keep myself from throwing this maschine out the window. New user and Jesus, just getting 2 patterns to play one after another is shattering my mind I feel so behind. events patterns scenes ideas. This is gonna be a long road.
Those are the fun times, it gets to be a headache the more time you have because you are responsible for everyone not just yourself. Great adventures though but I was able to retire before COVID hit and I had become an EMT during my last few years as a new requirement for our department to become medical responders. Enjoy and let’s have fun making this music as well. I’ll be hitting you up with this maschine stuff though. Dev
I don't understand why they can't make a DAW. They obviously have money and resources to do it. If they made it. Native would be the number 1 music software.
They keep saying that clips is easier than the previous way of doing this. I call bull crap! This is way more difficult than it should be.. before clips, I could just hit my pattern, duplicate, hit the pad and assign the next pad, to the next pattern. That's what I'm trying to learn how to do with this clips crap!!!
